Jira Cloud Premium vs Standard | Atlassian Jira Ultimate Pricing Guide

hello my name is alex with atech tech, tutorials and today were going to be,taking a look at the jira software cloud, pricing models were going to be,comparing the free version versus, standard versus premium and talk very, briefly about enterprise so if youre, interested in trying to figure out which, version of jira you will need to be,paying for you and your team to be the, most effective make sure youre, subscribed and make sure you drop a like,in this video if you have any questions, about anything im going to be talking, about today make sure you drop a comment, and i will address it,[Music],all right so were gonna be switching on,over to,atlassian.com,software,pricing and we are going to be taking a,look at specifically a juris software, and the cloud version there is a data, center were not going to be talking, about that today,we are going to be focusing on the cloud,so the first thing is im going to limit,it to just one user one user gives you a,um a field for, the, pricing of each user this number can, scale so if you have a hundred people in,your organization right or you have a,thousand you can kind of scale to see, what the price is going to be per month, you can also toggle annually so you get,a pretty good indication of what its, going to cost you per year one thing i,do want to note before i jump into going, into the rest of the analysis is in the, enterprise version one of the key, benefits that you get that i dont think, enough people talk about is,if your organization uses single sign-on,atlassian has a separate product called, atlassian access which allows you to,manage your single sign-on,that price when you buy atlassian access,is a separate added cost to this 85 000,you see here when youre on enterprise, that subscription to atlassian access is,folded into the price already so dont,be fooled by the drastically higher, number,it actually includes another number that,is hidden here that youre not seeing so,just a little tidbit here were going to,switch these numbers back up to one, and, monthly just so that you see what the, price is because most of the clients, that i work with theyre looking at it,looking at the pricing from a monthly, per user, basis, thats all ill talk about enterprise, most of the features are, really on enterprise or just really, really niche to a certain degree where,it makes sense for a large organization, with two three four five thousand users, most of the people that i work with, using jira are gonna be in a hundred to,maybe less than a thousand users so most,of them are gonna be either on standard,or premium, now the one thing ill say about free is,the free version of jira is actually, quite powerful you dont you lose on,some stuff obviously but you do still, get a lot of power the biggest, limitation that i see is if your team or,your organization is bigger than 10,users,thats when yours like automatically, gonna force you up to the standard, version at least but if youre under 10,you can actually be quite productive and, effective with just the 10. so keep an,eye out on this column here if youre in,that boat so if youre looking for a,tool and youve got a two three maybe, seven or eight definitely just less than,10 people or up to 10 people,um jira is going to be very effective, for you right youre going to get a lot,of power out of this tool, and just ill kind of briefly mention, any any, things that stand out but for the most, part im going to be focusing on the, second and third column which are, standard and premium so lets jump into, this so the site the the user limit here,is going to be as i was just mentioning, its just going to be the number of,users the maximum number of users you,can have most teams that i work with are, going to be in that hundred to less than,a thousand range so very very um,well under the 20 000 limit,so i dont think i dont anticipate a,lot of people,um having an issue here the biggest, thing is looking when you have the 11th,user when you onboard an 11th person, youre going to need to be bumped up to,the standard with that said, one also like tidbit that id like to,mention here is jira doesnt actually, have like read-only licenses so every, person, interacting with jira, needs to have a license so that may mean, for business partners or for other, clients or,consultants or anybody else interacting, with your system theyre gonna have to,buy youre gonna have to buy a license, for them so whether thats a standard or,premium ill talk about the, functionalities and the differences here, but for the most part just know that, there is no read only right uh some, other tools like to give out a read-only,and unfortunately maybe because of their, pricing of solo 41 cheap they dont do,that also, seven dollars and fifty cents here usd, this price just went up in october and,im told by atlassian that they tend to,raise their prices around, the october time frame so just just know, that these are the latest increases and,i dont anticipate another price, increase until at least october of 2022.,lets look at site limit and im,actually going to click on each one of,these because these actually give you a,little extra information that i want to,just touch and highlight so the site, limit youll notice that unless youre,in the enterprise your limits just one,and this basically means your url that, that unique identification or of the url, that your users are going to go to in,order to access your site its limited,to just one which makes a lot of sense, when when youre in a company right, youre only running one company, for the enterprise users thats usually, unlimited so that means you can create a,bunch of whats called federated sites, where you can just have a bunch of,different urls for different purposes, keep that in mind that if you want, different urls you may have to just, purchase different products, under different organizations, but you you can you just youre limited,to just one url from from that, perspective the next four items here the, scrum kanban the backlog the azure, reporting and the customizable workflows, those in my opinion are probably one of,the best reasons why teams use jira,a lot of other project management tools, that at least try to be agile,i dont think they do it very well i,think jiras implementation of scrum and, kanban is,not compared like its the best i dont, think theres any other tool that comes, close to it,and because of that i think alaska knows, this and its included in every version,so youre not really worried about like,if youre missing out on capabilities or,not but i just wanted to touch that the, reason people come over to jira,is going to be for these next four items, now since they are the same im not, going to talk about them i will have, separate videos where well talk about, how to set up scrums scrum boards how to,set up backlogs how to,look at all the azure reporting look at,customizable workflows so were going to,be taking a look so if youre not, subscribed if you havent dropped a like,in this video make sure you do so now, because im going to have a lot of great, content coming your way in the future, the next item here is app integrations, again same across the board so nothing, specific here ill have a separate video, where well talk about the different, apps of different plugins and how you,can extend the power of jira now lets, jump into automation because this is the, first time that we see a difference, between at least free and standard, versus premium, and so what youre getting here with, automation let me highlight this one, again,so automation is it allows you to,automate boring or mundane tasks in jira,so if you have some action that has to,consistently happen, you can automate it endure and its, really powerful theres triggers theres,a bunch of different triggers and you, select the trigger you select a,condition if you want and then you, basically select an effect right, something some action and then when that, trigger is met and the criteria is met,um,the action will, partake, and this is great this saves a lot of,time it keeps teams in sync,

Atlassian is moving to Cloud: An Overview of Jira Pricing Change, Timeline, and Policy Changes

Hello everybody! Manuel from iDalko.,Its not the first time youve seen me on either  a video or from a newsletter or anything else.,Today were discussing the journey to  the Cloud that Atlassian has announced.,Clearly, a lot of things will move in the  Atlassian ecosystem for the coming years. And,today I will be discussing with my dearly beloved  colleague Ann, who is our licensing specialist, within iDalko, about the changes that will come  out for the future. Ann, the floor is yours!,Thank you, Manuel. Good morning everybody  or good afternoon! So indeed Atlassian has, announced big news and were going to take  you through all the changes thats coming up.,Its gonna be a whole lot for the next few  years really. Mark down the second of February, into your agenda. Its only 12 days before  Valentines day, so you should remember it!,So starting from the 2nd of February 2021 up  till 2024, Atlassian will implement changes to,their Server and Data Center offerings that  will impact each and every one of you in,any way, because we know that in the  market for the moment, we have like,90 to 95 percent of our installations are on  Server. So many will be impacted by this part.,So lets have a closer look to the  agenda and see what we can pick it up.,So Manuel second to February 21 for Server,  no more new Server license will be sold.,There will be new prices for renewals and  upgrades and the following Server apps cannot,be quoted nor purchased anymore. And that includes  Advanced Roadmaps, Team Calendars for Confluence,,Analytics for Confluence, and  Insight and asset management, and Insight Discovery for Jira service desk. So they cannot be quoted anymore, so,maybe important to know that they will be  integrated in fact in the coming versions of,Jira and thats the reason they cant  be quoted anymore because they will be,available. Its one of the upgrades we get  in the system of the Atlassian ecosystem.,Correct! So also for the server starter  licenses, theres gonna be some changes, so the, second of February will be also the end date for  upgrades of a starter license. After this date,,you cannot upgrade the user tier anymore or  you should be moving to Cloud or Data Center.,So the famous land and expand on Server  level, it stops here because there is no more, starter licenses, and it only will be  length and expand on the Cloud version,Correct! For Server evaluations, those will also  disappear, obviously, so you cannot create new,Server evaluations anymore, and you cannot convert  a Server trial into a full license anymore.,The consequence will be of course that in  the other part the Cloud will be… the, trials will be extended as they used to be very  short like one week of trial and could be extended, until three weeks so that kind of changes also. Yes, thats going to be to 60 days. Exception, though on Server licenses is that you will still  be able to purchase new licenses for Fisheye, and Crucible which remain in basic maintenance.  Basic maintenance, you know what it means Manuel?,I would have no clue, you can tell me. Okay, so there will be no new developments in the, product but bug fixes, etc, will be done as usual. So on the 2nd of February, also,Data Center will be impacted. What  is going to change for Data Center?,So Data Center will also have new prices for  existing and new customers. The new functionality,as mentioned before by Manuel will be included  in Data Center so thats called “built-in,apps”. Those are the four ones: the Advanced  Roadmaps, Team Calendars, Analytics, and Insights.,Where we need to specify that those tools are  not implemented in every Jira. Some of them, will be available in Jira Service Desk and others  will be available in Jira Software or Confluence.,There will also be a discontinuation,of Data Center upgrade credits.  Atlassian will replace those credits,by Data Center loyalty discounts. We will come  back to this in a later stage in the presentation.,Some exciting news too Bamboo Data Center  is on the roadmap for quarter 3 for 2021,,so still to be continued I would say. And on top of all that, Atlassian is also offering, priority support included with the Data Center  subscription for the products Jira Software,,Jira service desk, Confluence Crowd, as well as  Bitbucket for customers with 500 users or more.,So that is already a big big, shot for 2021 and then we will move on till  2022. Whats going to happen then, Manuel?,Well as we can see, its the end of upgrades, it  means it rings the bell that Server is brought,to the cemetery slowly and we will have no  longer ability to downgrade or upgrade. So,if youre thinking about having more users  added to your instance in any other way,,well you do it before the famous date, the  second of February 2022, because you later,it will not be possible not going higher  not going lower so its all about planning.,Correct! In 2023, Atlassian foresees that they  will end the sales of new Server apps for existing, server licenses. Sp that means that customers can  no longer purchase new apps for existing Server, licenses. You can still renew for up till the date  of the February 2nd, 2024. Also here are a few, exceptions, like upgrade or downgrade of usage for  Fisheye and Crucible will still be able to do so,,and also upgrade or downgrade from Bamboo until we  release the Data Center version. So thats a bit,in contradiction of what I told before, but thats  what Atlassian has spread in their road maps.,And Ann correctly used the word “apps” in  this presentation but for those who are,not familiar yet with the word apps, its  “add-ons” which has been used much longer so far,,and sometimes still there is a little  bit of confusion about it. But apps, and add-ons its about the same so  we could call it the marketplace, environment. Okay and then the final year 2024.,Yup! Rest in peace for the Server. Yes, indeed.  No longer support, although everybody has a,,I think, a perpetual license with a Server.  You can use it until your Server dies or,you want to upgrade anyway. But there will be  no longer support for it, no bug fixes, no new, features, nothing. So thats a choice everybody  needs to make. 2024 is your latest choice moment.,Correct! So Atlassian also has  announced some policy changes, around quoting. Normally for each quote you get  from me, quotes are valid 30 days until 90 days.,Atlassian has announced that they will, grant or extend every quote that has been made in  the Atlassian system, so every quote that I make, for you is also doubled by an Atlantean quote. So  every quote generated between the 3rd of December, and the 1st of February 2021 will be extended  until the 2nd of March 2021. One very important, thing to mention here is that if you make  any change to that quote after the 1st of,February 2021 I would say, if you would like to  upgrade user tiers or add something or downgrade,or whatever, this will annul your Atlassian  quote and you will be obliged to purchase at,the new prices. So keep that in mind when offers  are made, that they cannot be changed anymore, after the first of February 2021. Otherwise, you  will be quoted at the newest prices. So please,,you can hear in the sidelines  that Im promoting a bit the, early renewals for those who wish to stay  with Server for the next coming year, so,if you ask a quote between the 3rd of December and  1st of February 2021, you will still be granted, the old prices. That sounds very clear and I would  emphasize that for all of you, its also for your, own good that we have that as early as possible  for the simple reason we expect to have a large, demand on quotes and if everybody wants to  have this course on time, its good that it,comes in a little bit spread out, so dont  start at the last second to have your quote, and have everything validated in a very short  period of time, so please already start planning.,And what about refunds? Refunds they will  still stay the same as 30 days as normal.,Of course, you know iDalko is

How to use Jira free cloud account up to 10 users | Managing Projects with Jira

hi many of you may wanted to learn some, project management tool to understand, how agile ways of working can be,supported with the help of tool and many,of you might have heard of attraction, tool called zera in this video we are, showing you how can you create a free, account totally free account and explore, most of the features of xera that can, help you in working in your team if you, have a small team of say up to 10,individuals you can just keep using this, particular tool and enhance your, productivity and overall a delivery but,if you want to just use it for a,learning purpose that is also second, option you can use you can create you,can play with the data and learn how to,probably generate various kind of,matrixes and reports by using serum so i,have a couple with me and he will show,us the step-by-step process to set up a,free account for you at atlassian so hi,everyone so,the first, step to set up your free account on,atlassian is just to visit a website, called atlassian.com,so when you visit this website so,at that website you just have to click,on these products, and click on the jira software, and then click on pricing, and here you would get different plan so,the first plan which is totally free for,10 user is,this one here we have to click, click on the get started button, and now you have to log in,you can either log in with your google, account or you can take an email address,to that login from here so i am logging, with my google app, okay so now just click on the create, account, and now google ask you like what would,be the url for your website so we can, take like uh,learns scrum,sound,701,okay so this url is available and just, click on agree button, okay so now uh jira would collect, information we can skip this information, for the timing and we can provide this, information if needed in later stages, now it is setting up our website on,their cloud server,it would take some time,so if we talk about the steps its like, just visiting the website yeah and we,will share these steps in a url you can, find that url below there is article, supporting it so visiting the website, choosing the pricing option from the, menu the project management option, and then look for a free, option which is saying free till 10,users and, using an email id or a google login and, then proceeding it further its pretty, straightforward, and here we have it ready, okay so now it would ask further, question like you are new to ajira you, have experience with jira we can skip, this question as well,so now it is asking you like uh what, would be the project name you want to,create,so it is very straightforward you can,put any name like uh,scrum, development,i could take the initial as a key so you,all your issues would be started with, this key you can also change this key as,well like st i want sdk,so that is there so okay so here we have,a default template and you can see like, this is a team manage project,so instead of team manage project uh we,are going to use a company managed, project uh,because uh we will provide further, videos like what type of benefits are, there for our company manage project, instead of team manager so currently, please choose a company management, and,we are just clicking on create project, and if we need any integration then we,can uh tell about that otherwise we can, skip that,we can invite different users uh up to,10 user because up to 10 user this, project is free,we can also skip that because we can do,this thing later as well, okay so,now our project, setup is done, its by default being created for a,scrum board,so for kanban board its not a scrum, board its a kanban board where you can,see like these are the default structure,uh whenever we can create an issue it,would be put under, and then it would move into the done, done is the last status for this, particular kind of project,so we can, create any, type of issues over here i,so,okay,so in jira we have these by default we,have these four type of issue type one,is epic another one is story then task, and bugs,so epic is like a feature like,uh suppose we have a big feature say, such management or login management or,inventory management,as a feature and for completing that, feature we have to build multiple, stories or multiple tasks that we can, create under that, and for, under that story we have sub tasks, subtask means if we are going to,complete those subtasks then that, particular story or task get completed,so we can add any stories over here like,[Music],firstly we add one features like, inventory management,or user management would be making more, sense,we can provide some some, about that,or if we have any description that can, provide, and lets click on create,so epic is created over here, under that epic we can create stories, and, tasks as well, and by moving this thing into these, statuses we can say okay our work is,done so this is our simple kanban, perfect and what if,we have to add a scrum backlog here is,it possible to change once we are, already here, yes,we can create another project for scrum,as a scrum as a template okay so here we,have to choose this scrum template, and, just click on use that template, click on company manage project, then provide the name, okay yeah,so i can sense because initially when, people are just signing up for the free, account they may not get an idea of,change template option which was coming, when the project was getting created and, sometime you just land to a default, option which was there and later on may, wonder you know i want to see a backlog,i want to see a sprint backlog and i am,confused about it it could be just an,issue of creating project and you, created the project to start with and,you can definitely create a new project, and pick up the new template and that, will serve, solve your problem yeah so dont worry,it is still a setable and configurable, and you can see other types of reports,so here is your backlog like in scrum, model you create a backlog and you can, create multiple sprints, and under those print uh you can track, like what is the active sprint and based, upon that you can see various report,so lets create one or two issues over, here,so issue is more or less a common, element the word zera used uh i used, where basically it could be any type of,element and the type of element would be,the big chunk of requirement which could,be termed as epic small set of,requirement can be called story or maybe,a actionable thing which can be called, tasks and you may want to create your, own issue types also so those all things,we will, talk in some other videos but thats, possible say you may want to have a epic, and then feature and then story or you,may want to have something in between, further as well uh technical depth kind,of issues or enablers kind of issues or,spike kind of issues all those things, are possible but all it depends how do,we configure them so that some, yes so by default uh jira provide you, full kind of issue type first one is,epic it is same similar to camera like, you have feature big feature and you can, link this up into multiple stories so,you can also track the progress of the, epic as well in jira like if in a,particular epic we have 10 15 stories, and out of 10 15 stories 10 stories are, already done so you can also, watch, the feature progress as well,so like okay so we are creating a pick, over here as well like say login, management, for various type of login, perfect yeah, okay so i just created this epic so epic, would not be visible on my backlog,i just uh we just have to create stories, over here or tasks over here or issues, over here and we link those uh issue, types to the aptx yeah so the way,its epic is its more like a folder and,in the folder you need to put something, and and its a folder management thing, which is a big chunk of requirement, which will have more fine grain, requirements which will get uh,implemented further good so we want to,talk about some of the the upper menus, because i understand there are a lot of,things what kind of settings one can, play with or or the other thi

Make Jira work for you with automation

[Music],hi,welcome to atlassian demos today youll,be seeing a demo, for make jira work for you with, automation,we hope you enjoy,[Music],hello everybody and welcome my name is,john mckinnon and im here today to talk,to you about, automation or more specifically how, automation can help remove, all the noise from your work life be the, personal assistant that you always, wanted, and help deliver your work where you, want it and how you want it,so if automation is brand new to you, fear not its not difficult, just keep thinking if this guy can do it,anybody can do it,and if the concept is totally new to you,i suppose the elevator pitch is that one,it allows you to automate pretty much, any repetitive task in jira, two it connects your third-party tools, with jira which is pretty much what, were gonna be talking about today and, three its available for all duracloud, customers across, all jira products and its super easy to,use you just drag and drop, the rules together so my goal today is,to not waffle on too long i want to,spend 90,of our time on the demo because that is,really where were going to do most of,our learning,my goal is for this to be the most, practical and actionable demo that you, watch today because youre going to walk, away with things that will change your, work life,so im going to get to that in a moment, but first i want to set some context, about the problem that we are solving, and as youve probably guessed it starts, with napoleon,so this is napoleon looking quite, dashing upon his horse, and aside from publishing a romance, novel which is a true story,he also conquered most of europe so its, safe to say he was a busy man,now he believed very strongly in having,a focused mind and he worked hard to,remove, all unnecessary distractions from his, life so for example, nahogan never opened his mail any of his, correspondence until at least three, weeks after it was brought to him,his philosophy was that if it was, important enough it would surface itself,if it wasnt then it would go away and,he really reveled in the fact that his, correspondence just dwindled, all around him and he got more done that, way and this was a strategy that worked, really really well for napoleon,to a certain point he did after all get, exiled, twice now things have picked up pace, fairly considerably since 1815,we have snapchat now for example and the, tactics that worked so well for napoleon, back then, are probably not going to work so well, now youd have to imagine napoleon,in todays world you know you might have, slack alerts buzzing in his tight, leggings pockets,or jira notifications adding another, number to his gmail account, the fact is he couldnt possibly ignore, everything because,he would lose every battle so what would,he do,he could hire a team of people to go,through his correspondence and maybe do,some of the low-level work, thats kind of what weve been doing for,the past few decades thats the idea of,a personal assistant or having people, working under you,but were well past that this is 2021,this is the automation age,and that is what todays demo is all, about not, napoleon sadly so while you might not, conquer europe, were never going to help you conquer, your day today and i also promise that, thats the cheesiest thing i will say,um probably okay lets talk a little bit, about this idea of,automation as your personal assistants, not necessarily with a man bun like a,character here,so this is someone who never sleeps they, spend their whole night just filtering, through important relevant information, for you, surfacing the important stuff and better, again they actually do a lot of the, repetitive low-level tasks for you,so for example if you like to get your, work done on,the walk to your bus and you want a,slack alert to let you know whats going,on,fine if you want an email at 9am on,monday just giving you a good summary of,everything in one email thats fine as,well, the idea of this is that when you get, into work and you pour your delicious, black coffee, you can immediately just sit down and, start working on the cerebral stuff the, juicy stuff that our brains were built, for, without fearing about all the small, things and all of this while knowing, that jira remains mission critical, and essential source of truth so before,i dive into the demo i want to show you, this awful 1980s,slide that ive showed a few thousand, times to explain how automation works, now this was the way it was explained to,me the first time i started working with, automation, its simply lego blocks that you put, together we drag and drop these lego, blocks and we put them together in,whatever way, makes sense for us to build our rules, thats what were going to be doing, today,so for us every rule starts with a,trigger and that just means were, listening for an event in jira,or external to juror and then we respond,to it,so often second comes a condition and,the condition just refines the rule so,for example,a trigger might be whenever an issue is,created in jira and the condition might,be,if that issue is high priority now every, single rule, finishes with an action theres my slow, animation, and then it comes and an action simply, executes the rule for you,so again that could be anything could be,updating a field in jira or it could be,sending a microsoft teams message or it,could be interacting with github,it really is the world as our oyster now, youll be pleased to know that the ui,is not a 1980s lego gif its actually, quite beautiful in products and i really, hope that anybody who is not familiar, with automation, becomes much more familiar with this, section over the next few months, following our demo today, its really fun to use thats the weird, thing about automation um it kind of has, this taboo about it that its difficult, and tricky but its actually really fun,and thats what well,go through today now better again were, going to be doing all of this, from the jira automation template, library this is fresh out of the oven,um only a few months ago did we launch, this and what it is,is a place with hundreds of templates, but also a safe, sandbox playground where we can go in,and build the rules together,in public without fear of breaking, anything and without, any fear of doing anything wrong which,is a great place for us to start,so for anybody watching this live for, team 21 youll have a little link in,your console to go off to the automation, template library and join me,for anybody whos watching this in the, future and watching the recording i hope, you survived, and you can just follow this short link, here atlassian.com,automation and that will bring you to,the automation template library, okay with that lets use the magic of,technology and im going to switch over,to the demo, okay this is the automation template, library where well be doing all of our, magic today,so ill give you the 60 second rundown,of it and then well get straight down,to the playground and go through the, demo,so top of the page here a little bit of,a description about what automation, templates are all about, quick video if you want to get a quick, conceptual view of it now first bit, popular categories,so in here we can go in and we can see,the most popular rules for these, categories so if you use slack and, microsoft teams, this is where this is a really good, starting point for you you can go in,you can see the exact rules and start, implementing them into your instance, now one thing to call out at the moment,we dont have the ability to just, click a button and for it to come into, your instance you actually have to copy, and paste those rules across,or build those rules across in your own, instance well get there, soon enough now further down the page,we have our most popular templates these, are the six templates that our customers, are using most often, and in these ones we go into even, greater depth so,for example uh sending a daily slack, message which well be doing pretty, similar today,um you can see a screenshot of what the, rules should look like here, got a video where youll see my monotone, irish vo

Jira Software Premium Features: Overview

[Music],welcome to this five minute overview of,jira software premium,in this video well look at a few key, aspects that are unique to jira software, premium related to the advanced road, maps feature and how theyll benefit, your entire organization,in addition to the several other, benefits in jira software premium like,99.9 financially backed up time 24 7,support iplow listing and a host of,others advanced roadmaps adds many new, features to your jira experience that, are designed for more broad company-wide,planning to help your projects run, efficiently help your teams work better, together across your entire organization, and align your work in helpful ways, well explore a few of these key, features here and dive deeper in future, videos if youd like to learn more, the first feature well explore is plans, also known as advanced road maps, youre likely already familiar with the, roadmap view in your individual projects, which displays your work items in a,single project in a clear way that lets, you plan and track work in that project, plans are a specific roadmap view that, brings multiple projects together so you,can see a broader view of your projects, all in one place, here we can see a roadmap that youre, likely already familiar with from a,single project we see some epics and, some issues here to track the, development of an ios app,and here is that same project alongside,a project for android app development in,an advanced roadmap, this lets you see multiple projects or,work streams in tandem so you can better, understand whats happening across all,the work that you need to know about, you can create as many of these plans as,you like tailoring them to include, exactly what you need to view or what, you need to share with others without, any superfluous data, you can create one for a department for, example another for your management team, that only contains data relevant to,their interests and yet another that, shows all the projects across the entire, organization, you can configure these plans to include, whatever project data you like, the sources for this data can be a scrum,or a kanban board a project itself or an,issue filter using jira query language, using a board is the most common issue, source and is what we typically, recommend but you have the flexibility,to use any of these sources to populate, data in your plan, next lets take a look at using advanced, roadmaps as a planning tool or a sandbox, environment to fiddle with changes to,your work streams before those changes, impact any of the project data, now that we have our plan set up with, our mobile app projects we can use this, view to make plans and adjustments after, seeing how everything is currently laid, out, you may want your ios and android apps,to launch simultaneously for example and,you can reflect that by dragging this, bar to align with the corresponding, android epic to publish the app, well want to push the marketing, campaign out as well to match the new, target date for when the app goes live, the plan operates as a sandbox, environment where you can make changes,to multiple projects from this view with, the additional context of all your, relevant projects right here in front of,you and when you make a change to a plan, this button up here will activate where, you can review all the changes that, youve made before any of these changes, impact the projects themselves, you can collaborate with the project, leads on these changes before pushing, them live or uncover additional issues, during your reprioritization that you,can address before they impact anyone, next lets take a look at creating issue, dependencies in advanced roadmaps, just like you can link issues together,in your individual projects you can, create dependencies across projects in,your plans,we mentioned wanting to release ios and, android apps together so we can create a,link between an issue in our ios project, and an issue in our android project, right here from our plan, that way if work on one app completes, before the other one everyone will know,to wait until work on both is completed, before submitting them to google play, and the app store respectively, after configuring your cross project, dependencies exactly how you like them, you can publish the changes just like we,saw before so theyll reflect in the, project data for those teams now beyond, issue links you can also drill down to,your dependencies in this view,as your plan fills up with issues having, the ability to parse down to your, dependencies gives you a much clearer, view of what work relies on other work, and which teams are waiting on others, helping you stay on top of cross-team,outcomes now well take a closer look at,this report and at dependency management, overall in a later video in this series, the last feature in jira software, premium were covering in this video is,scenarios,as you configure your plan there can be,a number of assumptions at play and, scenarios allow you to create alternate, paths for your project delivery letting, you account for several different, circumstances so you can compare them, and determine the best way forward, primarily a forecasting feature, scenarios allow you to build out several, different possible paths to project, completion and with your epics issues, and story points all spelled out, scenarios allow you to determine how, project delivery might look with, different resource allocations for, example,or a difference in priorities of,different projects and we can see that,we have some of these already built out, here for us,you can plan for a best case where, everything goes according to plan a,worst case where a few complications get, tossed into your project and anything in,between, and as your project unfolds you can, continue to groom these scenarios in,case you need to make adjustments, midstream that way when your project is,faced with a change of circumstances, either positive or negative your team, can have a way forward already planned, out to embrace those new circumstances, and move forward with confidence, this is just a reminder of the features, that we went over today, this really is just a sample of the ways,in which jira software premium can help, you improve the planning and, coordination within your organization, more videos are coming in this series, where we will dive a little deeper into, these features and discuss some of the, additional features of jira software, premium in a little more detail i hope, youll join us

Jira Basic Search – JQL 101

[Music],welcome to using basic search in this, tutorial youll get an introduction to,using Duras basic search as you use, basic search to find issues join me as I,help max a server engineer when he,requests my help as his scrum master, hmmm I need to review my teams issues,in JIRA but Im just not sure how to do,that I was hoping you could give me a,quick introduction Im glad to remember,JIRA contains issues collectively, detailing the work your team does with,JIRA you assess and analyze your work so,you can see how your team is working and, plan future improvements the key is to,use JIRA search functionality, effectively to do this you need to ask,the right search questions to get the, issues youre looking for basic search,is all about making your task of asking, these questions easy and fast you start, from a screen called the issue navigator, the screen says search but its known as,the issue Navigator the issue Navigator,is the page where basic search displays, its results you see the issues returned, from a search query here this is where, the fun begins, you can ask simple questions using the, basic search or ask really specific, questions using the advanced search and, jaql, but how do we find the issues we need, well if were looking for a book in a,library we identify a few attributes and, start our search for example we might, look for a book with a title Alice in,Wonderland and an author of Lewis,Carroll in the case of JIRA the, attributes we use for searching our, fields, remember that fields are where the, issues data is stored you create search, queries based on those fields now it,should be clear why its so important to,understand the nature of the issues in,your projects specifically the fields, and the issues knowing what the fields, are and the type of data each can store, allows you to create the queries you, need to be a rockstar to your user, lets take a look an issue in JIRA can, have fields like this notice the search, criteria in the basic search bar they, correspond to the fields in the issue, make sense doesnt it these are the, hooks available to you through search so,you can grab just the issues you need, lets say you want to know at any time, what work you need to do you could start, with a simple question like which issues, are assigned to me lets see how to,search for these issues, you can use basic search to find issues, for any assignee on the project, including yourself, hey hold on a second you just said I can, select any assignee on the project but I,dont see all of my team members in the, list very observant, once youve searched for an assignee, their name appears in this list if you, dont see their name you can start, typing it where it says find users, groups and the name appears from there, you can select it but for now lets, stick with you Ill select the checkbox, next to your name and immediately the, search is executed and the list of,issues changes to include only those, issues assigned to you what Ive just, done is created a simple query which, contains three elements a field assignee,an operator equals and a value max,Taylor in JIRA this is known as a clause, okay this is good but what if I want to,see all the issues for the teams in,space project, how can you phrase it in a way that JIRA,understands, you, all right so Ill select teams in space, from the project drop-down,and now were seeing all issues for that, project, lets take a few moments to review what,we have learned, you,in this tutorial youve learned to build, simple queries to find issues with,Giras basic search, take some time to apply what youve, learned in your own project open your, instance of JIRA and go to the issue, navigator use the basic search to find, issues in your project your issues and, unresolved issues, check out Atlassian University for more, grades era tutorials,[Music],you

Estimation in Jira? | How to do estimation easily? #jira #atlassian #jiratutorial #jiratraining

today we will check estimation how to do,the estimation, okay in the jira easily, okay so i am opening the ticket,uh lets open this project, the testosterone, first of all what is estimation and what,is the meaning of estimation, okay let me show you one example, distance, between, bangalore to pune, okay, you can see its saying,3 or 13 hours 42 minutes okay, remember its saying 13 or 42 million, and whats the kilometer its 838,kilometer,means,but its swing by the car if i will, click on this train one it will change,18 hours,if,walk it will change more 166 hours,so its changing based on your travel, mode how you are, changing how you are going if i will, select the flight then it will take just, one to two hours,so the distance is not going to reduce,or increase it will be the one distance,on the the specific distance, but how you are traveling the travel, mode is going to change on the time, instruction,so that also follows in this,uh in it industry also,if im click creating a ticket okay and, there is one sprint is there okay while, doing the sprint planning, there are five to ten tickets are there, and how we are going to do like how much, time it will take how we can decide,so you can say okay the ticket is,assigned to the experienced person so he,is having, five to ten years of experience he can, solve that ticket easily right,so it will not take more than one day,for just example, but there is a fresher is there hes, just joined the company, okay, and if youre, assigning the ticker to that person so,it will take how much time it can take, two to three days four days also,so estimation is not going to,work over there but you have to estimate, how much time this can take, okay so in the jira estimation can be,happen with the help of like multiple, things are there like two salt sizes you,can use you can use of story points you,can use favorionic series you can use, there are multiple type of,estimations which you can use it,but main thing,in the sprint planning, and if there are teams are there and, under that team there are 40 tickets are,the 50 tickets are there so it will be,a problem problem for scrum master or,the product manager to do the estimation, okay table to the estimation, because it will take so much of time so,how we can do the estimation easily, there is one plugin is that that known,as a asyl broker with the help of that, you can do easily, once you will install you can see the, estimates, under this option, here you can say these many options, leave it everything just click on create, session, how much team are there, how much persons are there in your team,so for me its 6 to 10,i have selected, what is the team side visit if you are, working in a one office then you can, select this one,but some members are there in the, different time zone like usm are there,in the india then you can, select uh this uh not this one, okay, this one similar time zone similar often, this is for like some users are there in,the pony some users or theyre in the, bangalore some are there in the, hyderabad then you can select this one,i am selecting this one click on next, here, which is the good fit there are three, type of sessions are there interactive, session asynchronization relative system, you can see this example and all okay, let me go back,if i am selecting just uh this one, then it will, provide option this one interactive, section so like this based on the your, things it will uh,suggest, lets click on the next one, okay session name is zera sm season who,is the estimator scrum master is there, you are there or who is going to there,so i am the estimator okay, observer you can add your manager name,or someone, dick type its the custom one or,decent size i told you like 500 series, are there modified feminists customs are, there i am going to select desert sizes, okay,so this me this is also having some, meanings also, okay well show you, click on create, this session so all the users will get, this option for joining one, click on join, okay, come on,this one, okay, okay so this estimate was, disabled thats why this option was not, coming i have click on the estimate i,have enabled the field now i can say, click here,so you can add the value okay let me add,for this one i am thinking its m,click on save and nest, okay, this got estimated you can see this got, estimated if you will click here, see, what is the three third three is the, number of m,okay,i want to estimate this one, this option will come and here you can, see, excel save and next, okay so this is also got estimator so,like this easily you can do the, estimation, and your once estimation is done then, you can close this one, okay come here, close and archive,i have closed an archive one go to,manage session now, this one got closed i have closed this, one i have just estimated two of them, now click on create session,i am going to create this seven first, one we already saw,the second one, what i want to do i want backlog all, backlog you can select your filter as,well click on next, okay this is the name, how much story point im going modulator, send email if you want you can send, you can send the notification like this, any whatever you will put as a email or,this notification it will go,this is the desired sizes which we are, going to use, click on create lets estimate it,okay like this, this value will come and we need to do,the estimation, okay, this one which value i you want to keep,i want to give m,click on save and next estimated right, this one i want to give excel,7 next,as,7x like this we can give it,okay, once its done click on finish round,it will notify via email click on s,session has been closed, okay it,and whatever value you can see in this, estimation, this is the actual one, this is the, excel, this is the s,so like this you can see,if its not estimated you can see, okay thank you,now lets go back, both are closed,if you want to review the result just, click on the review result and you can, check all the results, like this like this, okay go back, create new session now relative one its,a very useful i like this one, lets add backlog only click on create, okay so why i like this one because, you need to do,here you need to do one estimate okay, close it,okay so like this you can do,click on configure, sorry configure is for adding one, okay,so whatever you want,so its a,less than that or how it is just add it,like this, okay here,s,m,l,this is xl,click on save estimate, story point click on save,it will update just wait for some time, its estimated, nine estimated how much time it took for, estimation it will show you, exit to backlog, okay like this you can do the estimation, its a very helpful,so thank you for watching

Clerk Invoices for Jira Demo

hi im anton the founder of hello clerk, and im happy that you are interested in,invoicing from jira,in this video i want to make a quick, intro to the clerk invoices app, with clerk you can build invoices from, jira time and send them to your, accounting system, there are two ways how you can create, invoices in the app manually one by one,and automatically when you create all, invoices for all your clients with just, one click, let me show you the automatic way since, its the most interesting one,in automatic mode invoices are created, from invoice templates each invoice, template defines what time to import and,how to build invoices from that time, lets assume that you have all settings, done and need to create invoices for the, last months, lets open the last month, and open the invoice generator, here we see a list of all clients and, their invoice, templates and all we need to do is to,click generate button, the app goes through invoice templates, one by one and automatically generates, invoices, all invoices are generated, very easy,if you connect xero or quickbooks all, generated invoices will be automatically, sent to this account in systems, now lets see how clerk creates one, invoice from an invoice template,as the input we have all jira time that, was locked by your team for selected, dates, then the app applies a time filter to,include only the time that we want we,can filter time by dozens of parameters, like project user type version etc, after that the app applies a team scheme, that breaks down your time into roles, team scheme defines what roles employees, play in your team, and finally the app applies hourly rates, from a price list to get the final, amounts, now lets see how it works in the app, this is the invoice template that has,one line with a time filter team scheme, and price list, lets check the invoice created from, this template,we see that invoice time was broken down, into rows with corresponding hourly, rates from the price list, for each invoice line we can see a,detailed time and cost report, you can customize this report or,completely hide it from clients, plus you can edit any generated invoice, and change it as you want, invoices and time reports could be,exported to pdf csv,or sent to clients by a secret public, link, now lets look at the reporting features, for each year you can see a cash flow, graph with the total amounts per month, when we open a specific month,we can check if we have uninvoiced time, can compare billable versus non-billable,time for this month and a list of jira, projects to be invoiced,in the client list,we could see the totals for each client, can check who is the biggest debtor, and who generates the most revenue, you can try this app for free in the, atlassian marketplace,or you can book a personal demo tailored,to your invoicing process, let me know your feedback and thank you,for watching

Difference between Jira Work Management and Jira Software in under 10 minutes

foreign,hi folks this is Steve because were, almost again a practice lead with xpm, today Ive got with me David Mitchell, who is one of our senior Consultants, were going to take a quick video here, and tell you a little bit about the, difference between jira Work Management, and jira software so,as you may know atlassian has recently, repurposed an old product called jira, core and turn it into what theyre, calling Giro Work Management and its, part of their work management for all uh,process that theyre trying to implement, for non-software or non-agile or,non-devops teams so Im going to start, off and talk just really high level, about the costs around this tool and, then Davids going to show you a little, bit of a difference between like a,general Work Management project and a,jira software and what what each one, does differently so when youre, licensing Giro Work Management uh the, cost for your work management is,significantly cheaper than software uh,jira software by about half they only, have a standard product out right now, they dont have a premium product and so,its about 440 per user but that changes, depending on how many users you have and,of course with all the lassian licensing, you can do either monthly or annual if,you want to,the other thing to note that is in jira, software which as you can see is a,little bit more pricey uh this is really, important jira Work Management currently, comes with jira software so if youre, paying for jira software already you, have Jiro Work Management the pricing, for Jiro Work Management is really only, for people that dont want jira software, and just want zero Work Management so,included in jira software is uh is zero,Work Management so thats really all I,wanted to say about the difference, between the two from a licensing, standpoint and of course if you have any, licensing questions at all reach out to,us at xpm.com we can help you uh manage, all your licenses so with that Im going,to turn it over to David and Davids, going to talk a little bit more about, the ground level and the differences, between the two okay thanks Steve,um first lets talk a little bit about, the audiences that these products are, for,um jira software you know when do we use, your software versus your work, management, jira software you use that when youre, needing development type of features, like scrum boards kanban boards you need,Integrations with tools like bitbucket, also with the the jira software product, its a little bit more technical in,terms of be able being able to customize,it down to the nth degree so people that, are really technical want to have more, control are going to,um,prefer you know go towards your software, for those purposes do your work,Management on the other hand is um,its more designed to be an out of the,box turnkey, solution that can help teams get, productive right away so were going to,take,um lets take a look,at some of the differences here,um first of all so your your work, management projects show up here in the,in the projects list just like all the, rush we can, refine this down to here we have this, sample here and this is an important, note because jira Work Management of,course is collaborative with all other, jira products so you can link projects, together with issue types and things, like that like you can with any other, jira project and if you have uh Shira, software and you have advanced roadmaps,Advanced roadmaps does look at all the, projects in your instance as well weve, had that question before so quickly, well just look over here on the left, and the left hand nav Work Management, projects have a board its a very simple, board,it the the columns are based on your the, statuses in your workflow its not, highly customizable it doesnt have, scrum and kanban features in it but its, just its just a simple task board, theres also this list view thats very, much like a spreadsheet type of a view, and you can do inline editing here in,this almost like youre in a spreadsheet,a lot of people like this view its, really easy its really basic its so,its intuitive, this is the calendar view, that shows your items on the calendar,uh timeline this is a basic timeline, its sort of similar to a road mapping, feature, but its its more basic but its useful,if the team needs it theres forms here, allows you to create custom forms if you, want to if you want to create a simple, form and,um and get a link to it and share that, with your users and have them use a form,to create items in your project,in terms of features that thats that, covers it but um,lets look at some examples some other, better examples here,um what at lasting has done with these, theres a lot of templates for Work,Management projects and, theyre not just uh they didnt create, those just for the purpose of throwing a,bunch of templates at you theyre very, carefully put a lot of thought into, these and created workflows and uh that, are designed to help you get, productive immediately from the ground, yeah one of the big differences between,General work management jira software,General Work Management has a lot more, templates that are specifically targeted, toward Work Management teams jira, software has three templates out of the,box but dont forget as an admin project, all of these are configurable too right,so,um,as you can see this is a web design, process project and you can see that on,the task board here the status is of the, workflow this is a workflow status is,unique to that,um that process,um,one thing thats interesting that I want,to point out before we wrap this up and, this will probably be the last thing is,Work Management projects when you create, them tend to default to being a team, managed project,so oftentimes the question is what can I,do in terms of configuration with Work,Management projects is is there any, difference, well that has to do with whether its a,team managed project or not this is this, project settings and team manage project, and a company managed project youve got,all of the same things that you do in,any any other company managed project so,um to that question, can we do the same things with that, project it depends on whether its a,team manager company managed project, yeah thats something you want to think, about definitely from uh,scalability standpoint from a governance, standpoint are you building your, projects as team projects which are, going to have much much less, configuration available, versus the admin of course the trade-off,is that the uh the company or the admin, based projects you have to work with an,admin in order to have those, reconfigured or changed whereas the team, team projects you can manage yourself,so,great well thanks David,um so really what we found is that uh,user uh experience is is one of the big, differences between jira software and,Jiro Work Management as David showed, that Gerald Work Management has a number,of user experience visuals uh UI pages, that are a little bit different than, what you may typically see in a jira, software project however a jira software, project uh the board is much more, configurable you can change the cards, you can do quick filters you can have, all of those nice features that you may,be used to having on a kanban or a scrum, board in jira software one final note is,that both of these tools are, configurable to your needs which means, that if you are not a software team you,can still use Ajira software project, type because you can just configure it,to whatever your team needs sometimes we,have more like for example a marketing, team sometimes marketing teams prefer, zero Work Management based on the UI ux,that they can get there sometimes, marketing teams preferred jira software, because they like the configurability of,the boards and other features that they, get there too so,so thats it we just wanted to give you, guys a quick run through the differences, between the two,um if you have any other questions uh,reach out to us at xbm.com and we would,be happy to help you out with this or,any other thing that you need thanks for, listening,[Music]

Scrum Vs Kanban Which is Better – Atlassian Jira

hello my name is alex with apex, tutorials and today were going to be,taking a look at all the different jira, project types that you have once you are, getting started with jira so at this, point if you havent seen my previous, video we walked you through how to,basically start an account and purchase, jira, this video is the next video in this, series right where were going to be,looking at the three different software, development project types, and im going to be explaining to you, what the three different project types, are so that you can pick the best one,for you and your team,if you havent already please make sure, youre subscribed to my channel and hit, that like button this really really, helps me and the algorithm and helps me,create a ton of videos all about jira, coming your way and i look forward to,helping you out in your jira journey so,without any further ado lets get, started and were going to jump into, talking about the jira projects,[Music],all right so here we are if you remember, from the last video you this is where, you got,if you just want to start that,atlassian.com you created your account,or you logged in if you already had an,existing one you purchased jira you, skipped over a couple of those questions,if you havent if youre not sure what,im talking about go check out that last, video its going to tell you everything, you need to know to get up to this point, all right now this video here is perfect, whether you are following along the, video series or,if you just want to start a new jira, project right lets just say that you, already have an existing jira, and you kind of just want to you want to,start a new project because your teams, been working somethings just not, feeling right with jira and youre just, kind of curious about what these, different type project types are so,lets talk about each one of these well, start with compound then well go to,scrum and then well talk about buck, tracking right,so,just to kind of give you an fyi right um,i,probably work with hundreds of yeah ive,i mean its been at least 100 teams, right that ive worked with and ive, definitely created at least 200 euro, projects in my lifetime so far ive been,a general administrator for five years,so ive been making a lot of projects i,have probably 200 is even a low number, but anyways um,out of all those projects i would say 95,of them right have been either a kanban,or a scrum most users of jira are, sticking to one of these two types, very very rarely have i seen anybody do,a bug tracking one and very rarely have,i seen um i dont have it in this option, because i have the free right now for, this demonstration but in standard and, premium you get a couple more options of,different project types but very rarely,do i see other teams go that route now,the reason most teams stick to these two, issue or project types here kanban and, scrum is because these are whats, considered an agile, project okay and most teams theyre, using jira because theyre trying to be,agile right and so youre not going to,go wrong right its going to be its, these are basically the two project, types you get right and so if youre an,agile organization and youre in a,software development team and even if,youre not right these are perfect a lot,of companies today are trying to just, adopt like a digital transformation, right theyre trying to become more, agile theyre trying to adopt these, agile methodologies, and using the kanban or scrum is going,to be appropriate even if you dont have, software development right so even if,youre like an i.t organization or,youre like a finance organization, either one of these tools or,methodologies here with the with respect,to the project type is going to be,really really helpful and and really, going to get you going in the right, direction, towards your agile, goals so lets talk about kanban first, because this is probably,if i had to pick between the two and, really the three but if i had to pick, between the two, true agile, project types kanbans going to be,probably the easier one,and scrum is going to be for those that, have a little bit more maturity right, those that are in their in their agile, journey and theyre a little bit more, mature theyre more they know exactly, what theyre doing maybe theyve gone, through like an agile one-on-one,training,um or or maybe theyre just more, comfortable with agile so if thats you, right if you know that youre gonna be,doing sprints and then youre gonna be,doing basically this a scrum methodology,i recommend you do scrum but if you just, want to,dip your toes into the agile world right, and you just want a jira project to help, you manage your agile project kanban is,going to be a great way not the best way, right i still i would still recommend, you do scrum or at least try scrum out,but kanban is a great alternative so,lets take a look at kanban, all right so kanban is a japanese work, for visual right and a kanban board im,just going to kind of highlight im not, going to go over all these things in,detail bright but i just want to really, highlight and address, why i even select a compound right so,what youre getting when you when you do,select a kanban is youre getting a just,a board right so you get a kanban board,um with your states right and,one of the benefits that you get here is,whats called a work in progress or a,limit to your work in progress right so,if youve ever taken a a kanban course, right or at least you know youre, familiar with the combo methodologies, then, you know that youre basically measuring, your like youre visualizing your work,as its progressing through its life, cycle right or through the workflow and, juror speak and you dont want to,overwhelm yourself or your team by,working on 50 things at the same time, because realistically we we cant work,on that many things right so you want to,be focused on like two three maybe five,is pushing it per individual right so,you can actually set limits,on your boards so that gives you a,visual alert when youve exceeded your, limits right but the whole purpose of,the kanban is to take work right take, your backlog of all this work that you, need to do,select,a few of them right some high priority, items put them into your project and, then move them across a life cycle were, going to be exploring all that but i,just kind of wanted to address this here, now what you do get are these issue, types right so,one of the common questions is like well, what varies between um each of the, styles right and so what youre getting, here is you get an epic story bug task, subtask again very common in the agile, world these are basically the plain, vanilla stuff now what is what what i,want to do highlight right let me see if,i can zoom in here a little bit more is,your workflow right, ultimately what differs between the, three the kanban the scrum and the, kanban kanban scrum and bug,are your issue types and your workflows, right so,you can modify all of these later if you, want and im gonna be im gonna have a,video on all that as well but just out,of the box just to get you started this,is what youre getting so this is what, the kanban is so lets go take a look at,scrum,so when i open up scrum, youre gonna see that this looks, slightly different and for some reason, mines just not updating so im assuming, that thats maybe a free versus premium, version but the workflow should be,different between your scrum, and your, kanban because compound usually has a,selected for development aside from your, backlog and then in scrum you usually, just have your backlog and then whatever, other workflows or state statuses you, want but anyways lets focus on whats, different with the con with the scrum, right so with scrum, again this makes more sense if youre if,youve already taken agile courses if,you havent uh make sure you drop a,comment i want to know where you are in,your agile journey um where do you think, your azure maturity is but if youre, completely new to agile and you can none,of this stuff is making sense to you let,me know i want to know because i i do,consi
