All-New Amazon Kindle (2022) Review | Best eReader on a Budget!

hello gorgeous peeps Im Chris from, techspurt and this wheat charmer right, here is the all-new Kindle 2022 Amazons, most affordable e-reader and a proper, dinky weed Joby as well the all-new,Kindle 2022 Edition Sports a compact 6,inch screen which makes it smaller than, both the Kindle Paperwhite and the,Kindle Oasis but despite what some, highly critical and frankly rude people, might say six inches should be plenty to,satisfy most people and this fresh new,e-reader starts from 85 pounds here in,the UK from amazon.com UK of course but, thats only if you dont mind being, served the occasional ad when you want,to take a read and break otherwise if,you dont want any ads and frankly who, does then thatll cost you an extra, tenor to get them to bugger right off,but anyhow Ive been using the all-new,Kindle 2022 as my full-time e-reader so,heres my in-depth review and for more,on the latest and greatest Tech please,do POG subscribe ending that, notifications Bell cheers so the first, question you might have is what do you, actually get in that lovely blue box, well youve got yourself one all-new,Kindle a quick start guide which is,essentially a waste of paper as it just, ensures you dont mix up the charging, port with the power button somehow and, then just tells you to follow the,on-screen instructions and tucked away,in this little flappy bit youve also, got a USB type-c charging cable and I am,very happy indeed that modern Kindles, use USB type-c the Sim has more, smartphones these days not that,god-awful micro USB which is now pretty, much defunct and that is everything, youll find bunked in the box so no,theres no power adapter stuffed inside, there Im not really sure how they would, have managed that to be perfectly honest,so if you do want to charge directly, from a wall socket you will have to,provide your own luckily if you search, for power adapter on Amazon theyve got, absolutely dozens of the buggers so,lets start with the design of the,Kindle 2022 and Ive got to see it I am,very impressed indeed with just how, compact this latest model is besides the, price this is definitely the biggest, advantage of the latest and cheapest, model I just compare it side by side, with the current Kindle paper white and,its basically like watching twins with,Ollie Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito is,the perfect size for slipping into a,handbag to keep you occupied on a long, trip I can even fit this thing inside of,my jeans thats how Bloody small it is,and no thats not just because theres, plenty of room inside my jeans this, thing really is that tiny that compact, design also means the Kindle 2022 is,very very comfortable to clutches where, you can easily wrap your hands around, the back end and hold it like so and, because its so lightweight at just 158,grams I found that the new Kindle is,very comfortable to hold just above my,face when Im reclining in bed or in the, sofa or whatever I dont feel my,pathetic little boy biceps immediately, start to ache youve got fairly chunky, bezels surrounding that display, especially down here on the bottom, although at least at the edges this, prevents your fingers from accidentally, intruding on the screen when you are, clutching the Kindle tight youll also, notice that theres no physical pitch, turning buttons here on the regular,Kindle 2022 theres just the power, button down below youve got the USB,charging port and Thats essential, actually it flip around to the back and,its pretty basic bog standard Kindle, design with the big old Amazon logo, there and apologies for all of this mess,my Kindle 2022 review model came with, this annoying sticker slapped on the, back which has proved impossible to,remove but thankfully this wont be on,the actual retail models as well as the, black model which I have you can also, grab the Kindle 2022 in denim when I,first got my review sample there was a,bit of a wit on that denim model but, that seems to have evened itself out a,bit now however while this black model,is constructed from 75 recycled Plastics, the denim model is only constructed from,30 recycled Plastics less than half the, amount so basically if you order, yourself a denim one you are actively, hitting on the planet youd probably go,and curb stomper dolphin if you could, the absolute fracker and also take note, that the Kindle 2022 is not water, resistant unlike the Kindle Paperwhite, and the Kindle Oasis so if you want to,do some reading in a nice hot Bubbly,Bath through a Jacuzzi or whatever well, yeah maybe upgrade so anyway lets power,on the Kindle 2022 doesnt take very, long at all twig from hibernation as you,can see and what youre presented with,is quite a dinky six inch e-ink,displayed definitely a lot smaller than, other Kindles and most other e-readers,but I still find it perfectly fine for, reason with this here compact theming, still fit quite a bit of text on each, screen so youre not like constantly, tapping the display to turn a page and,as always you can quickly and easily, change up the fonts just with a quick, tap up here as you can see Im on,compact if you choose standard then that, makes things a bit bigger and that large, font is pretty good if your eyesight, aint what it used to be theyll get, your pork and finger at the ready, because youll be turning the page every, few seconds and this isnt even as big,as the text goes because if you dive, back into those settings switch from, themes to font as you can see there, were only on level seven if you boost,it all the way up to the maximum levels, level 14 those words are really big and, bold so hopefully easy to raise even if,you really do struggle to see close up,letting display boasts a resolution of,300 pixels per inch which is ideal for, books with tiny text and illustrations, you can even read graphic novels on this, thing just bear in mind that it is a,monochrome screen of course you wont, get any of those lovely color pictures,of course if you are a fan of graphic, novels or comics and such forth I would, highly recommend upgrading to the likes,of the Kindle paper white with that, bigger display because even though you,can go through panel by panel youll, just get a much more comfortable reads, and experience now as with other,e-readers and the other Kindles you do,have a glare Killen matte finish here on,this screen so no worries if you are, reading out and about its generally, corpse well with full-on Reflections, this Fierce Studio light as you can see, there no real problems and of course you,can boost the brightness if you need to,the basic Kindle 2022 is front lit with, just four LEDs which is a fraction of,the more expensive models but that, lighten does appear to be evenly, distributed at all brightness levels, its quite impressive stuff I was, expecting the brightness to be slightly, uneven perhaps around the edges and, towards the center but as you can see, there no issues whatsoever unfortunately, there is no auto brightness here on the, regular Kindle however you will have to,upgrade to the likes of the paper white, for that youll have to manually change, the brightness levels to suit your, reading environment its no great, hardship to be fair if you want to save, yourself a few quids and on that maximum, brightness again this will easily, counter any kind of bright sunlight or,anything like that sadly the regular bog, standard Kindle also does not have any, kind of night light feature to lower the, temperature of the screen for a more, comfortable reading experience in the, evenings but you do have a dark mode, that you can swap to at any point like,so and this performs a similar sort of,function basically does make it nice and, comfortable to read even at night even, with all the lights off and I wont, spend time banging on about all the, various other features and tools in here, you got all of the usual stuff bookmarks, dictionaries Etc tap up here and you can, jump to any chapter in the book its, pretty regularly out and then when you, want to leave the book and go back to,your main desktops just tap like that a,little massive horrendous shocks or,anything

Kindle Paperwhite (2021) One Month Later – But Why?

hey guys its brandon miniman from,pocketnow.com and this is the unboxing, video of the amazon kindle, and, this is what we get, here and, wow, and this is the kindle yes its been 14,years of kindle and whats funny is that, when brandon told me that he was going,to do that review so many years ago i,didnt understand why a product that, could only read books didnt make any, sense to me and especially when i was, already reading ebooks for years on my,pocket pc,it wasnt until i tried one many years, later that i picked up on the genius, behind these little gadgets surely i,know many of you still love the smell of,paper and the feel of a regular book but, that would be a huge oversimplification,of what a kindle can do and their latest, model is out to prove just that, this is the new kindle paperwhite a,pretty overdue update to their 2018,model and what id call the most, ambitious change that amazon has brought,to these devices even if you wont be,able to tell that very easily im a,river with pocket now and this is our, full review sponsored by mediatek,[Music],all right i know a ton of people that, still debate if buying a kindle is worth,it so for anyone thats still wondering,if this is better than a regular book, its mostly a topic of convenience for a,guy like me for example a good book is,usually never thin or light which makes, carrying it kind of a pain also a book,is just a book versus a device that can, carry hundreds of them and lets you buy, them instantly versus having to order, one and wait or have to go to a store, and see if youre lucky to find one and, also a book offers no narration so if,youre on the go audible can help you, pick up where you left off and then a,book is not water resistant or brings a,backlight or can switch to a dark mode,or allows you to make the text larger or,smaller and then a book doesnt bring a,built-in dictionary nor lets you filter, highlights etc etc etc and then for, those of you that argue that your phone,or your tablet can perform kindle, functions thats also sort of true the, problem is that those bring notification, distractions glare and the battery that, wont last for weeks, point is a kindle is not just a book, replacement its designed to behave like,a book but its so much more also not, sure if you notice but kindle books are, usually far less expensive than printed, copies as the cost of distribution is no,longer a problem the kindle paperwhite, has always been this middle child, standing in between the more affordable, kindle and then the kindle oasis, that said not sure if amazon is cooking,up a new flagship but the reason i call, this paperwhite ambitious is because, its actually better than the more, expensive oasis in so many ways to start, ive never been a fan of the, asymmetrical design of the oasis versus, the more logical approach of the, paperwhite like its predecessor its, crazy thin and light at just 205 grams, and still brings this soft matte plastic, design thats easy to hold though color, options are still not available for this, new model like they are on the old one, there are two variants to choose from, though but, that just means different perks and, price think of the regular variant as,more of a continuation of the old model, while the signature edition is your, choice if you want most of the new, tricks and which is the one that im,currently reviewing,id call this new design to be far more, refined than any other kindle ive used,it doesnt just cut down on the bezels, dramatically but this is actually a,larger kindle than the model before it,as a result you get a much larger 6.8,inch display at the same 300 ppi from, before which in my opinion is the sweet, spot for a pixel free experience its a,matte display so glare is never a,problem and brightness got a 10 boost, thanks to its 17 leds lighting the show, yes it doesnt bring all the 25 leds on,the oasis but it does adopt fan, favorites like the option for a warm, light to not get in the way of your, sleep,i still feel that e-ink is the way to go,if youre a bookworm it does a far, better job when exposed to daylight and, since these kindles are all ipx8 water, resistant bringing them to the pool or,the beach is par for the course this, model in particular got far more power, efficient by the way now providing up to,10 weeks on a charge i seriously wish, that i could tell you if those numbers, are exact but so far i havent really, charged this kindle once since i unboxed,it that said some of its benefits over, the oasis is that whenever you do you,now get usb-c and even qi wireless, charging at least if you go for the, signature variant this is also a much, faster product e-readers have never been, fast at things like page turns or menu, navigation to the point where ive, gotten used to it but the 20 faster, claims that we got from amazon are, pretty accurate its the main reason i,stopped using my oasis after i got this, unit switching between menus or turning, pages almost feels natural here a lot of,it has to do with amazons collaboration, with todays sponsor mediatek, this kindle paperwhite is now powered by,their 12 nanometer,mt8113 which runs on lp ddr4 ram, provides essentials like wi-fi ac and, bluetooth 5 capabilities along with low, power options for devices like this, kindle theres a reason why companies, like amazon trust mediatek to power, their devices follow the first link in,the description to learn more about what, makes this partnership so special but, alright you know me theres no such, thing as a perfect product and there are,a few reasons that i am mixed the first,is the fact that even if this is,amazons baby i find it an irony that, the kindle application on your phone or,your tablet has more perks for example i,love listening to the author of a book, narrate their work of art through, audible but on the kindle you can only, pick audio or text while on the phone, you can see the words being read to you,in real time now in defense of the, kindle the advantage here is that as,opposed to doing audible or kindle apps, separately on your phone the paperwhite, will actually sync the text with audio,as you switch between them but of course, that depends if you bought the audible, narration with the book at purchase, second is that yes amazon did overhaul, their kindle software completely but i,cant say i like it sure i love how the, book cover is now on the background as,the kindle is on standby and i also like, that the navigation feels much faster, where i mix this because i just dont, find the software to be intuitive i wish, that it would behave more like a,bookshelf and less like a permanent, store,i also feel that the price of the, signature edition should include, cellular connectivity this is the one, thing that the oasis still does better, and which i feel would have been far, more valuable than the she wireless, charging that youll only use once every,10 weeks,to conclude i think its important to,consider some of the original premise,no you dont need an ebook reader it,wont smell like paper nor feel like if,youre turning a page every time you, touch it,if these things matter to you then, youre perfectly fine with your, paperback or hardcover in my case since,i travel a lot a kindle is that device, that i can carry easier that gives me,access to whatever book i want in,whichever country i am and can do a,better job at mimicking a book than, whatever tablet i carry if your case is,similar to mine i feel this new, paperwhite is the best pick for most, people if youre on the ropes over which, one is best for you i think youll be,perfectly fine with the regular model if,all you do is read eight gigabytes might, not sound like much but these ebooks are, tiny, now if you care about an auto adjusting, backlight or you are into audiobooks, then the signature edition should be a,better pick 32 gigs will do a better job,and sure get wireless charging in tow,i do feel that there are things kindle, should do better for their price but it,doesnt stop me from recommending them i,know theyre not a jack-of-all-trades,like a typical tablet but thats, preci

Kindle Paperwhite vs Kindle Oasis vs Basic (2022)|Best E Readers Comparison

whats up guys if youre looking for the, best e-reader in 2021,youre in the right place weve tested, and reviewed the most popular and best,e-readers on the market,on this channel and were reducing that, list down to find which e-reader is,going to be the best for you depending,on how you plan to use it,so if you want to know which e-reader is,going to be best for you stay tuned and, lets get into the video, well for starters if youre looking for,an e-reader its no secret youre, probably looking at a kindle, theyve dominated the market and they, produce some of the best e-readers,without question, but there are quite a few different, kindles to choose from so were going to,be comparing the kindle, versus the kindle paperwhite versus the, premium kindle oasis,so which ones the best well simply put,its the kindle oasis but i would, recommend the kindle paperwhite to most, people but dont click the video off, just yet, depending on your budget and intended, use which option is going to be best, might actually vary and you may even, want the entry-level kindle or even the, cobro libra h20 as a non-kindle,alternative,for displays the amazon kindle comes, with a 6 inch display at 167 pixels per, inch which is the most basic and, reasonably solid considering its price, the kindle paperwhite is amazons,mid-range option which offers a six-inch,display with an,excellent 300 ppi and it looks very, similar to the page of an actual book, both the oasis and the libra have the, same 300 ppi resolution, but with a larger seven inch display, giving you more screen real estate, all of these devices have an added front, lighting which helps you read them under, the sun or in dark rooms, the basic kindle has four leds the, paperwhite has five, and the oasis has an unbelievable 25,both the oasis and the libra have a,color temperature setting, which allows for a warmer color that, makes it easier on your eyes while, reading especially during night time, the kobo also offers you with landscape, and portrait mode and while the, brightness is easily adjusted by swiping,on the screen of the libra, the oasis features an ambient light, sensor that actually enables an auto, brightness which changes the brightness,of your screen based on the light in,your environment, neither the basic kindle nor the, paperwhite has this capability, unfortunately, given the auto brightness and its higher, resolution i think that the oasiss, display,is the strongest and it gives you the, most versatility for build quality the, kindle is solid and its the lightest of,them all at 161 grams, while the paper white is the heaviest at,209 grams the oasis and the libra are in,between,at 188 grams and 192 grams respectively, both the kindle and the paper white lack, external buttons,so you just have to tap the screen to,change pages the libra and the oasis do,have, external buttons to turn pages which i,think improves the overall reading, experience,i did find that the oasis buttons were, more responsive than the libras, which needed to be pressed in a specific, spot to register the kobo the basic, kindle and the paperwhite are all made, from plastic, while the oasis sports a premium,all-aluminum build that is similar to,high-end tablets and it feels like high, quality in your hands,i think both the kobo and the oasiss, ergonomic asymmetrical design improves, the overall feel while you read, while the basic kindle and the, paperwhite have a standard design that, still gets the job done, with the exception of the basic kindle, another key feature that youll, appreciate is that they are all,ipx8 waterproof so they can be submerged,in water,of up to two meters for an hour giving, you worry-free bathtub reading and, poolside use,i find the kobos minimalistic ui easier,to use and it makes finding some of the, settings simpler, which can get a bit complicated on the, kindles kobo also provides activity, metrics directly on the device as,opposed to the kindle options where, you can access your metrics from the app,in my experience kobo offers a better, range of text adjusting options such as,line spacing and margin settings, while the kindles have a better built-in,dictionary the oasis and paperwhite give, you advanced settings as well, like the vocabulary builder and xray to,get more information on what youre, reading, the basic kindle comes with four, gigabytes of storage which, should be enough to handle most peoples, library of books on the go,but both the paperwhite and the oasis, come with two options,8 gigabytes and 32 gigs the libras 8,gigs doubles that of the basic kindle, and it should be sufficient for most, the kindle options provide audio support, and they can play audiobooks if you, connect headphones or a speaker via, bluetooth, but the audiobook support is absent from, the libra, audiobook files are larger so the, limited space on the basic kindle, does limit its utility here compared to,the paperwhite and the oasis, the kindle options provide support for, audible and they can play audiobooks if,you connect your headphones or speaker, via bluetooth, but audiobook support is absent from the, libra audiobook files are larger,so the limited space on the basic kindle, does limit some of the utility here, compared to the paperwhite or the oasis, the kindle options also give you access,to goodreads and amazons colossal, library, where you can purchase or download books, the libra offers built-in overdrive, support and you can borrow ebooks from, your local library, which could potentially cut down some, costs for those of you that dont want,to be tied to the amazon ecosystem, the battery life for all four is solid, the kindle gives you up to four weeks of,battery life while the paperwhite oasis, and libra get up to six,the battery life varies with usage and, depending on some of the features on the, kindle such as surfing amazons library, enabling bluetooth,or having a higher screen brightness can, drain the battery faster,i found with an hour of reading per day,the basic kindle is capable of around 2,weeks per charge, but the paperwhite and the oasis can, last for around three weeks, the kobos 1200 milliamp hour battery, lasts a little bit longer, and i think this is where the kobo sets, itself apart it certainly gets the nod,for the best battery life, with all the different options for,e-readers its important to find what, fits your needs the basic amazon kindle,is perfect if youre on a budget or,youre just getting into ebooks, however if you intend to use audiobooks, regularly the kindle paperwhite is a,great mid-range option that provides an,excellent reading experience with a high, quality screen, the kindle oasis is of course a,luxurious reading experience with a,high-end screen, ergonomic aluminum design and its, perfect for avid readers who dont mind, paying for that top of the line quality, the libra is an excellent option that, gives you most of the features of the, oasis, but at a lesser cost as well as,supporting the public library system,so its a top choice for those of you,who dont want to be limited to the, amazon ecosystem, overall i do believe that the kindle, paperwhite will be the best option for, most people but thats just my opinion, let me know what you guys think in the, comments, for links to updated pricing on all the, items i mentioned check out the, description and if you guys learned, something from this video or you found,it helpful give it a like, subscribe if youre new to the channel, and you like short informative tech, videos, till next time ill see you guys later

Kindle Scribe vs. iPad: Which tablet reigns supreme? [Unboxing & Review]

Amazons first Kindle launched in,November 2007. since then every Kindle, has been an e-reader until now 15 years, later the Kindle scribe is the first,Kindle thats an e-writer to pen, included is this Amazons iPad killer, lets find out but first lets open the,box thats terrible the Kindle scribe, comes with 16 32 or 64 gigabytes of,storage space a stylus pen which you can, upgrade to the premium pen for an,additional thirty dollars a USBC,charging cable five replacement pen tips, and a tip replacement tool out of the,box it was a bit heavier than I expected,I guess I just went in with the, expectation to be closer to a book than,a tablet in terms of weight yeah I think,I had textbooks that were heavier than, this maybe just a little bit yeah, imagine if your backpack could have just, this in it thatd be a lot Id be buying,it Im not a huge book reader but I am a,huge Note Taker I really like the feel,of writing on real paper and if this,Kindle can replace my notebooks its, going to be a winner for me the other, thing Id love for this Kindle to be,able to do is let me right in the, margins of books when I read I like to,write on the books themselves because I,like to make it a conversation with the, text and also if Im highlighting and, scribbling in margins then I tend to,remember what Im reading more couple, questions I have how hard is it to,transfer documents to and from the,Kindle scribe and how does the notebook, part of the Kindle scribe which is new, compared to the notes app on an iPad Im,also interested in seeing how the notes, are organized because its great that, you can take notes but if you cant go,back and find those notes then its, pretty useless the setup process was a,little harder than I thought it would be,especially since Amazon included this, really easy to follow guide but it was, weird there was a bug with the app where,we had to connect to Wi-Fi but every, single Wi-Fi network except for my Wi-Fi,network was showing up so then I just, set it up on the Kindle itself and, everything worked its a bug with the,app you can connect to any network, except for your own thats thats the, difference its already to turn you from, connecting to Wi-Fi and getting, distracted by other websites indeed and, that is one of the major selling points, this distraction free its sort of true, this is distraction free but these days, its so easy to be distracted you know, youre reading your book at home or,youre on your commute your phone is,with you thats going off and by the way,not all distractions are bad what if you,got an important text or email you need,to respond to right away youre not, going to get it on your Kindle you would,on your iPad for example I think the, distraction free selling plan would be,great for classrooms for example you got, young kids instead of giving them an,iPad with a million different things you,can do on it give them one of these they, can read a book and thats it as long as,there arent any color pictures in that, book because this has 16 levels of,grayscale which is great but no colors,Lack of Color in the display could be an,issue especially if youre reading like,a bomb defusing guy and it says cut the, blue wire and theyre all gray you cant, tell which ones the blue wire in a lot,of ways the Kindle scribe is similar to,the 9th generation iPad we have a fourth, generation iPad Air here we didnt have,a 9th generation iPad lying around but,the specs are really similar both of,these devices have a 500 nit display, this has a 10.2 inch display so does the,9th generation iPad kindlescribe 300,pixels per inch iPad 9th gen 264 pixels, per inch pretty close iPad 9th gen, colors colors more colors are the, multitude of ways the iPad kicks the,Kindle scribes but outweighed by the, things the Kindle scribe does really, well and better than the iPad one of the, biggest differences we noticed being the,Kindle scribe and the iPad is that we,took them both outside the Kindle scribe,in direct sunlight did it so much better, than the iPad it was unbelievable even, with no backlight the Kindle scribe, still looks amazing and thats because,of the e-ink display you dont need a,backlight in direct sunlight the viewing, angle on the Kindle is also much better, than the iPad but not many people are, reading like this so you know typically, you pick an angle and read, not as big of a deal and thats just one,of the ways its better than an iPad but,is it one of the only ways pinch to zoom,on the Kindle scribe absolute disaster, its slow its almost impossible to get,the zoom right where you want an iPad,super easy the iPads display obviously, has a much higher refresh rate so if we,go tapping through pages like this great, yeah I love when the pages just turn, black like you spilled the ink all over, your uh your paper or coffee all over, your laptop sure same thing whos done, that before its just less Zippy, obviously the iPad is better at skimming,I noticed that sometimes with the Kindle, scribe when youre on a page of just all, text and you go to page with some images,on it sometimes that text from the, previous page will be imposed on the, image its a little bit distracting, thats one of the limitations of the,e-ink display is that it has to refresh,to turn the pixels all the way off one, more note about the viewing angle if you, look at our front cam youll see that, the iPad looks a lot darker than the,Kindle does but if you look at our, overhead cam we didnt change anything, they look relatively the same because we,optimized the iPad for the overhead cam,but thats really what it looks like, from an angle I definitely prefer the,Amazon pen to the apple pencil it feels, closer to actually writing with a real, pen on real paper for me it isnt the,pen that makes that difference its the, screen covering the Amazon Kindle scribe,is a nice matte finish to the screen the,iPad has the glossy finish the only, difference between the Kindle screen and,the other Kindles is the ability to,write on it in fact the Kindle Oasis is,an excellent Kindle for much less money, but this whole writing thing is a big, deal for Amazon now were going to,compare taking notes on the Kindle, scribe to taking notes in the Kindle app,on the iPad shall we take a note I would, love to Im going to press and hold on,the screen and a little line will appear, yeah kind of like your underlining, content is king So Ive got Wikipedia, but instead Im going to tap note up,here and Im going to write genius, similarly on iPad Ive highlighted it I,can tap on it once and then I can tap on,the little create note icon and now I,can create a note this has the option to,tap over to text note you can have the, keyboard there and here we can talk, about it real quick how you know not, great this keyboard is the keys you, dont even well theyre kind of in the, wrong spots and thats what really threw,me off notice how the Q and the A and,the Z are kind of aligned like a real, keyboard here this is not the same shape, yeah as a real keyboard so your fingers, when youre typing dont really line up,with the keys genius as I type in this,is genius the iPad simply translates it,to the text how does it do that using,OCR or optical character recognition or,probably some other Apple term for that, technology lack of OCR is probably the, most disappointing thing about the,Kindle scribe you take all these notes, you cant search and find them it just, its you dont know what you wrote, exactly the other disappointing piece of,this for me is that you cant just write,on the page thats really what I wanted,I wanted to be able to describe of the, margins draw smiley faces and other, things lets open a page just to demo, the web browser on the Kindle one of,these things looks like espn.com and one,of them looks like uh RSS feed lets say,you wanted to read the news which I,think a lot of people would think that, you would have a good time doing,timesunion.com well see you got a nice, little headline there Neil golub thinks,so Im not sure I see that same headline, its like the uh the Mozzy python the,Holy Grail open

2022 Kindle vs Kindle Paperwhite

hello Nathan here from the eBook reader, blog for this video Im going to do a,comparison between the new entry level,Kindle for 2022 which is on the left of,course and the Kindle Paperwhite that,Amazon released last year which is on,the right so uh they finally upgraded, the entry level Kindle screen to have,300 PPI so its finally in line uh with, other Kindles as far as like screen, quality and text sharpness so thats, definitely the biggest improvement with, the new Kindle uh the Paperwhite has, some Hardware advantages has a couple of,other upgrades available Ill talk about, that more here in a bit but for the most, part I mean these are like the the entry, level Kindles like in line with the, paper wide as close as its been to the, paper white I think since Amazon has, been doing these two different models so,I mean performance is nearly identical,on these two devices we both got the 300,PPI screens now so theres a lot of,overlapping features uh the paper white,it does have that larger 6.8 inch ink, screen whereas the entry level Kindle, has a six inch ink screen like I said, they both have 300 people API now so,text quality is similar I did post a,screen comparison review yesterday Ill,talk about that a little bit more later, but overall performance is very similar, screen quality is very similar the paper, white does have that flush front screen, where the Kindle has the indented screen,so you know it just comes down to like, the differences in the design and the, size now the Paperwhite it does have the, warm front light which is one of the, biggest differences with it Amazon did,add dark mode support to the entry level,Kindle with this release the last Model, did not support this so now you have the, option to read with white text on a,black background even though you know, the entry level Kindle doesnt have the, warm light for night reading it does, have night dark mode so that can be one, option so they both have USBC ports now, they both have like the power button, here on the bottom which some people, dont like I dont really have too much, problem activating it accidentally it,does take a bit of pressure to push it,in but some people dont like that so,like I said the entry level Kindle has,the indented screen as you can see here, with the light in the background with, the end dented screen you get less,Reflections and less glare so that is,one advantage for it so yeah you do have,a little bit more glare with the paper, white with that flush green the back of,the Kindle Paperwhite kind of has this, soft rubbery coating on it which is kind,of nice whereas the regular candle its, just basic plastic its not quite as,nice as far as the design goes the paper, white definitely feels like has a bit of,better upgraded you know build quality, feels a little bit nicer in the hand one, thing I really dont like about the, entry level Kindle is how easily it,scratches I dont think its going to,show up here on the camera but after a,week I already have several light, scratches theres one on the bezel too, that kind of bugs me so that plastic uh,you know it does scratch easier than the, paper white paper was definitely a bit, nicer as far as the build quality goes, with that flush front screen and it does, have a little bit more of a you know a,nicer feel with that rubbery back than, just the you know cheap plastic on the, entry level Kindle thats kind of my,biggest gripe with the entry level,Kindle just kind of as a cheap plastic, feel to it like the older entry level,Kindles were actually a bit nicer back,in the Kindle four in five days, all right so lets talk about the front, light now this is one of the biggest, differences between these two devices, the entry level Kindle just has a basic, regular front light with one color its,got four LEDs underneath the lower part, there it has a little bit of shadowy, areas if you look really closely like in,a darker room whereas the front light, its more even on the paper white and, then the paper white of offers the, warmth settings so you can customize the, color tone to kind of fit you know your, own personal reading style based on the, time of day or whatever for me,personally I never go for the full on,orange look but like when youre reading,at night its nice to have a little bit,of the orange light on here its kind of,like you know when you go shopping for, light bulbs they have the cool color and,the warm color at night the cool color, can be a little bit harsh like on your, eyes whereas the warm color you can add,a little bit of that to the paper white, screen and it makes the screen look a,little bit better it also kind of makes, the text kind of like improves the, contrast a little bit when youre using, low light kind of makes the test text, jump out a little bit more when youre, using the warmer light versus The Cold,Light so thats the main Advantage with, the paper white having the color you, know the front light color adjustable, the signature signature edition of the,Paperwhite adds the front light sensor,as well so you can have the front light, automatically adjust it has that box, right there thats only available on the, signature edition of the paper white and, then the signature signature edition, also has wireless charging and more, storage so yesterday I posted a screen, comparison between the new Kindle and, some other Kindles just to see kind of,how it where it sits to me the paper, white text actually looks a little bit, darker but there are times like in lower, lighting like this where the screen on,the entry level Kindle looks sharper, without that added fresh flush layer, over the front of the screen so,sometimes I feel like the screen on the, entry level Kindle looks a little bit, better other times I feel like the, screen on the paper white looks better, the text does seem a little bit darker,on the paper white and the background, seems a little bit lighter on the entry, level Kindle so like I was saying, earlier the paper-wide signature edition, does add that auto brightness sensor so,you can have it automatically adjust the, front light based on the time of day but,the regular paper white doesnt have, that thats only on the signature model,so like I said earlier yesterday when I,was comparing the screens the screen the, camera tends to focus a little better on,the right side so it kind of makes the, screen look a little bit better, whichever device is on the right side, makes the text look a little bit darker, but the differences are so subtle it,just doesnt really show up very well on,the camera here or like you know taking, pictures just something you really need,to see in person to really get a feel, for like I said sometimes the paper, white seems like it has a little bit, better screen sometimes the Kindle seems, like its a little bit clearer without, that flush front layer over the top but,you know I mean theyre very close its,not really a huge difference the front, lights are definitely a bigger, difference when it comes between these, two devices and of course just the, screen size in general having the six, inch screen and the 6.8 inch screen, doesnt sound like a huge difference but, when you have them side by side you can,see how the text lays out differently on,both of these so up until now Ive been, using the same font size and the same, font type so everythings comparable on,the screens here but this isnt how I,would normally read on the paper white,so if Im using the entry level Kindle I,do read like how its set up with the, tight line spacing and the number three, font size but on the paper I I prefer to,have the middle line spacing and like, the larger font size like thing number, four so you know I mean if I were to be,reading these two devices I wouldnt, have them you know laid out the same as,Ive had in the video so far I would, have them laid out uh like how Im,setting up right now and I also prefer, this Meriwether font I think I got it,for my Windows 7 computer a long time, ago I cant find it anymore but Im,pretty sure thats where I got it from,so you can side load fonts on Kindles,w

Kindle Paperwhite Review – 6 Months Later

I get it now, the Kindle Paperwhite is one of my favorite tech products Ive used ever.,And as Ive used it over the past six months, one question thats been banging around my,head a lot is: is it better than a book?,I think it is.,So lets dive into whats new with the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, why I think its better, than a book and why I think you should get the Paperwhite over the regular Kindle that,Amazon just refreshed.,The 11th gen Kindle Paperwhite was released in 2021 and is the latest in a long line of,Kindles which originally debuted the same year as the iPhone, in 2007.,There are three main improvements that Amazon has made to this version of the Kindle Paperwhite, over the previous generation.Amazon increased the screen to a 6.8 inch display, while also, slimming down the bezels.,The 11th generation also gets an adjustable warm light plus 10 more LEDS for lighting, than the previous generation & for charging, it now comes with USB-C and optional wireless, charging if you go with the signature edition of the device.,If youre thinking of upgrading to the 11th gen Kindle Paperwhite or youre wondering,if its worth going for over a tenth generation Kindle Paperwhite.,Yes.,And yes.,The speed of the UI on the 11th gen, combined with the larger display & USB-C support makes, upgrading or going with the 11th gen outright a no-brainer in my opinion.,And I’ll talk about why I’d still go with the Kindle Paperwhite over the other Kindle’s,in Amazon’s current lineup a little later on.,Now, lets dive a bit deeper into the Kindle experience and why I think its better than,a book.,And I know that is a very controversial statement right there.,Feel free, drop a comment below.,Let me know your thoughts.,If you use a Kindle, which do you prefer: a Kindle or a book?,But now, let me unpack why I actually think its better than a book.,First ergonomics.,Weighing just 205 g, the Kindle Paperwhite is very lightweight, and often feels lighter, than many books I own, especially the big thick hardcover ones.,The Kindle Paperwhite is also easier to hold than most books, you don’t have to keep,it propped open, making it easier to read with one hand, especially if you like to read, while laying down on your side.,Another feature of the Kindle Paperwhite and all Kindles for that matter now is a built,in light.,Now, whats really interesting about the Kindle is the light that you see included on Kindles,,its not actually a traditional backlight that youre accustomed to from a device that, has an LCD or OLED display like your smartphone, tablet, TV, etc.,The LEDs Amazon uses for the Paperwhite’s light are actually found at the edges of the, device and then Amazon uses a light guide layer to evenly distribute light across the, device, however, unlike a more traditional display, like an LCD with a backlight, or,even an OLED display where the light is just shining directly from the display to your, eyes.,the light guide is designed in a way where the majority of light emitted from the LEDs,shines down directly on the E Ink Display, making the reading experience very similar,to shining an overhead reading light directly on a book.,This light-guide technology paired with the excellent 300 ppi e-ink display makes the,Kinde much easier to read versus an LCD or OLED display in my opinion, especially at,night, where you can automatically schedule or manually adjust the display to turn to,a warmer color temperature, which is much easier on the eyes.,Also a Kindle is better for reading on than a tablet in my opinion because its designed,as a single use device.,There are no apps to download, which means no distractions, you can just focus on reading,,and that’s actually a huge benefit.,That design intention plus the better ergonomics of the Kindle, and banning all other devices, within arms reach of my bed, including my phone, thats resulted in me being able to,read three times as many books so far this year as I read last year.,Which yeah, its kind of staggering actually.,And I feel like the Kindle, getting that was just the final piece of the puzzle for me,at least to be able to form a habit of constantly reading books.,Another feature of the Kindle Paperwhite that’s better than a book is being able to adjust, the font type & size.,You can also pinch to zoom in on an image in a book, which isn’t the smoothest animation, experience because of the lower refresh rate of an e-ink display, but still gets the job, done.,The Kindle Paperwhite also has a built-in dictionary, thesaurus, & wikipedia tie-in,that you can bring up when you tap on a word you’re unfamiliar with or want to learn, more about.,Another feature I love with the Kindle is itll give you an estimate for how long itll, take to finish reading either the current chapter youre on or even the entire book,by tapping on the page number at the bottom right hand corner, and this feature has been, pretty accurate for my reading speed & motivates me to read even more and push through to be,able to complete a book.,The Kindle Paperwhite can also be paired to a Goodreads account which is an Amazon-owned,service that’s basically like a social media site for book readers, allowing you to automatically, share what book you’re reading on your Kindle, see what your friends are reading, and keep,a running wishlist of books you want to read next.,It has a pretty cool barcode and book cover scanning feature as well that allows you pull,a book off your bookshelf and mark it as read, reading, or want to read.,Another thing that a Kindle has that a book doesnt is built in search.,You can search your entire book for a keyword or you can search your highlights and notes, you made in your book for keywords as well.,And you can download the Kindle app onto other devices like your iOS or Android phone, tablet,,and even a computer like my Mac to pick up right where you left off in a book on your,Kindle or to bring up your notes and highlights for a book you’re reading, which is a feature,I’ve used a lot.,And, the Kindle, unlike a book, doesn’t constrain the space you have to write out,a note.,Another really, obvious reason why a Kindle Paperwhite is better than a book is it can, hold more than just one book.,It can hold thousands of books and articles with its 8, 16 or 32 GB of storage.,And you buy books directly from the device itself which I’ve done quite a few times,,and they’re typically less expensive than their hardcover or softcover versions, even, books I’ve pre-ordered have been less expensive on Kindle.,But what if you dont want to buy books and youd like to use the library instead?,well, you can actually borrow ebooks from local libraries at least here in US, and read, most borrowed ebooks on your Kindle through services like the Libby app.,And if you like gifting people books or putting them on your holiday wish-list, Amazon does, allow you to purchase Kindle books as a gift.,So those are all of the main things about the Kindle Paperwhite that to me over the, past six months, make it better for reading on than a book.,Now, there are two other features with the Kindle Paperwhite, that dont really fit into,my better than a book construct that really impressed me and those are its battery life, and the Send to Kindle feature.,The battery of my Kindle lasts literally for weeks, I only have to charge it about once, every 2 months or so, depending on how much I use it, which is awesome.,It definitely has the best battery life out of any device I own.,And sure when youre comparing it to a regular book, a regular book will have an edge because, obviously, it doesnt have a battery inside it, but when you consider all of the extra, things you get with a Kindle, I still think overall, the reading experience on a Kindle,is better than a book.,Now the last feature that has impressed me, but also at the same time has become a downside,to using my Kindle is the send to Kindle feature.,Because the reading experience on the Kindle is so good, I found over the past six months,,I wanted to

Best Kindle for 2022 – Standard, Paperwhite, Signature, Oasis

[Music],hey friends welcome back to the channel,so,if you are in the market for a kindle, then we actually have four different, options to choose from these days we,have the standard kindles we have the, kindle paperwhite we have the kindle, paperwhite signature and the slightly,old-school kindle oasis were going to,be breaking down the pros and cons of,each of these four different types of,kindle and as usual to save you time, theres going to be timestamps in the, video description and the upfront, conclusion is that for most people i,would recommend the normal kindle, paperwhite edition if youre on a very, tight budget then the standard cheap, kindle is pretty reasonable although it,does have a few inconveniences and if,you have extra money to burn then the, kindle paperwhite signature edition is,pretty good thats the one that i use, personally and theres basically no,reason at all to get a kindle oasis if,thats all you wanted then thank you for, watching and have a great day but if you, want to learn more in this video were, going to start by breaking down exactly, why i think everyone should have a,kindle and why its my favorite tech, purchase of all time and then for each,of these four different types of kindle,we are going to be breaking down the, pros and cons and im going to be doing, like a mini review of each one and, sharing my thoughts and will ultimately, land on why i personally use the kindle, paperwhite signature edition so lets, start with part one why do i like the, kindle so much the kindle as ive often, said is my single favorite tech purchase,of all time kindle number one and, airpods number two those are two,life-changing pieces of tech uh the, reason kindle is life-changing is kind,of three-fold number one it makes it,super super super easy to read books it,takes all of the friction out of reading,i carry a kindle with me wherever i go i,always have one in my bag and i always, have a second one being honest on my,bedside table because it just ensures, that im able to read just before bed, secondly having a kindle makes it super, easy to buy books anytime someone, recommends me a book i would just, immediately buy it on kindle it costs a,few pounds its often cheaper than, buying the physical book and it means i,can access it immediately and finally, having a kindle makes it super easy to,highlight books as well so if youre, interested in reading non-fiction like a,lot of what i read then highlighting and, taking notes on it is kind of a useful, thing to do and a kindle makes it super, super easy so overall yeah the single, one tech purchase that i think is,absolutely life changing for everyone, that i think is an absolute no-brainer,so after all that preaching lets talk, about the normal kindles now the cool, thing about these is that it comes in,white and black as well and the annoying, thing about the other ones is that they, dont come in white i would have loved,to see this the kindle paper white or,the paper white signature in a white, color i would definitely bought that one, because i prefer white colors but, basically youve got a choice of two for,the normal kindle and the normal kindle, clocks in at around 49 pounds or 49 and, they often have sales to make it even, cheaper than that so this is by far the, best value for money kindle on the, market and as with all the kindles the, reading experience is very good theres,no buttons on it other than the on,button and you just touch the screen if,you want to go forward or back any pages,in your book and it genuinely does sort,of look like youre reading on paper, theyve got these e-ink screens that, dont feel like youre youre reading, from a screen and for 49 pounds or 49,however much this is this is actually uh,like really really really good like even,if youre a student on a tight budget, like you know four meals out with, friends would cost you around about 50,pounds depending on where you go and for,the price tag of 49 pounds if youre on,a budget this is genuinely really really, good like the amount of roi return on,investment you get from having a kindle, which then unlocks the ability to read, more books more frictionlessly is such a,no-brainer like even when youre a,student you know four or five takeaways,is worth about 50 quid so if you, dont have those four or five takeaways, suddenly you get a kindle your life will,be completely magically transformed i,can guarantee it but the standard kindle, editions do have a few inconveniences, which make them not my top, recommendation my talk record, recommendation like i said is the kindle, paperwhite so what are those firstly, they charge with micro usb like usb 2,rather than usb c this is a bit of a,nightmare because i dont have any other, devices that charge with basic box, standard micro usb and so actually, finding a cable to charge these is a,non-trivial thing and actually when i,used to use the kindle oasis which also, really annoyingly has micro usb rather, than usb-c it would often like run out,of battery well it wouldnt often run a,battery but it would run out of battery, like every now and then and id be like,ah i really cannot find a cable to,charge this and it would mean that i,wouldnt be able to get to sleep one, night because i often read the kindle, before going to bed and it really like, negatively impacted my quality of life, the other annoying thing about the, normal kindle is that the resolution is,about half of what it is on the kindle, paperwhite and the kindle oasis so the, more expensive kindles have a resolution,of 300 pixels per inch whereas these, normal kindles have a resolution of 167,pixels page now if youre used to,reading a normal kindle you probably, wont notice this but its like if,youre used to reading on a kindle, paperwhite and high resolution screens, you can sort of more easily see the, pixels and its just a little bit less,of a nice reading experience if you, compare them side by side although of,course if all youve seen is the budget, kindle youre youre going to be,completely satisfied with it in terms of,design the screen size is very slightly, smaller than the kindle paperwhite this,is not a huge deal like i find that this, screen size is completely fine as well, this one is also good so screen size, isnt a major factor for me but the, other annoying thing about these kindles,is that they dont have a warm light, option now life is pretty good these, days because all these scandals do have,a backlight whereas back in the day the, original kindles of old never had a,backlight and so youd have to like have, the bedside lamp on while youre reading, now they all have a light but the, standard ones only have a cool light, like a blue light which apparently when, youre trying to get to sleep at night,is not very good because your eye, responds to the blue light and it kind,of keeps you awake because your eye, thinks thinks its daytime something, along those lines the nice thing is that, the kindle oasis and the kindle, paperwhites do have a warm light so,youre getting yellow light rather than, blue light and theoretically that helps, you sleep better at night ive tried, both i with my n equals one study i,havent really noticed much of a,difference in my ability to sleep with, warm light versus cold cold light but, apparently the sign says that warm light,is better so thats a big reason why the, kindle paperwhite is my go-to rather, than the normal kindle if youre on a,budget and you can live with those, drawbacks then the normal candela is,absolutely fantastic and you will, absolutely absolutely not regret buying,it and i can just 100 recommend it,without reservation all right lets now, talk about the kindle paperwhite and as,i said this is the one that i recommend, for most people and this comes in at 104,pounds the dollar price will be over, here and this is basically twice the, price of the standard kindle so what, features do you get for twice the price, well firstly its design is slightly, different the screen is now flush with, the well the device whereas there is a,bit of a,sort of a ridge divot with like
