Apple Music In 2022! (Review)

so its time for us to go ahead and take,a look at apple music and see if its,still actually worth purchasing this,specific subscription music software or,if you should go ahead and use maybe,something like spotify soundcloud ive,already made a few different videos,comparing all the different types of,music platforms out there and i will,definitely tell you apple music people,either love it or they dont really use,it i dont really know too many people,who hate this specific software but on,top of that i dont know anybody who,really hates spotify or hates maybe like,soundcloud or youtube music its almost,like what youre involved with in the,beginning with when you start is kind of,what you keep because once you start,making your playlist and you start you,know liking artists that upload their,music on apple music its very hard to,switch away from that now i will say the,biggest caveat that i dont really like,about apple music is theres no free,option with apple music theres a free,trial its a one month free trial,sometimes you can get three months i,think if youre a student but a majority,of the time after that period of time,after one or three months you have to go,ahead and buy it which i think is fine,and thats totally cool but spotify,youtube music and soundcloud do offer,free options which is something i love a,lot before i actually want to go ahead,and you know sync money into setting up,an account and all that i like to go,ahead and use it for a long time and i,think a month is kind of too short to be,honest even three months that i you know,ive been using spotify for years and,years and years now and i feel like i,have you know just barely touched the,surface of that platform with apple,music has a lot of features but i will,say if you want a completely free one,thats free all the time with ads youre,not really going to be getting that here,but i will say for the price tag that,youre paying you know its actually,pretty decent in my opinion now apple,music comes pre-installed with almost,every single iphone out there as well as,i think every single ipad as well so if,youre going through and youre buying,something you know with apple music if,youre buying some sort of apple product,you usually do get apple music just,pre-installed,and there you can go and set up the free,trial if you want to now there are,several different apple music options so,now we have the 499 option with siri if,you just want to play songs with siri,you have the option of you know playing,it for 4.99 but you also have the,individual plan for right now which is,9.99 if you know after the trial ends,you can do that and you can utilize,apple music at 9.99 a month theres also,the 14.99 family option and theres also,a college student option for 5.99 so you,can definitely go and get a range of,different things that will save your,student its definitely worthwhile to go,ahead and sign up with the apple music,with the you know the college student,discount but i will say on top of that,the music library that you were getting,from apple music it is actually probably,one of the largest ones you can get from,really any other music platform any song,that i typically will listen to im not,a historical apple music you know,listener i usually use spotify but all,the songs that ive you know wanted to,test and wanted to check out for on,apple music was exactly the same its,exactly the same type of songs that i,would normally listen to the only things,that are slightly different are just the,playlists some playlists that i want,arent really available on apple music,the songs are available there but,theres other playlists that arent i,would say the playlist community behind,spotify is more of a community there i,feel like theres more people who are,involved with making playlists and its,much easier and kind of more of a,community there on apple music there are,tons of playlists tons of songs every,song available for the most part is,available on apple music its just that,the playlist that i would normally,listen to when you know this is the one,i listen to normally for if im working,out or if im running well theres not,really the same copy to copy playlist on,one or the other and some people will,say apple music playlists are better,there but that is just one thing that,kind of stuck out to me in my opinion,now with apple music you do have a lot,of features built in especially if you,have an iphone or you know even if you,use airpods with apple music you have,the spatial audio effect which is really,really awesome if your set of airpods,have that capability then that is,awesome and it almost gives you like the,effect that music is playing around you,rather than just in your ears so that is,really cool you have head tracking if,you have airpods as well i will say on,top of that the apple music carplay,option you know when youre going,through and plugging in carplay it is,actually very nice and i kind of like,that type of layout a little bit more,than spotifys but i still think spotify,is perfectly fine as well and i do think,probably the and another big thing that,you can also do on spotify is you can,download and you can listen to your you,know music from apple music from your,apple watch so lets say youre going,for a run and you want to go somewhere,else and you dont want to bring your,phone with you you just want to go wrong,with your watch well you can go ahead,and transfer your songs and actually,download them onto your apple watch and,you can just connect your airpods or,bluetooth headphones straight to your,apple watch and you can just go from,there you dont even have to go ahead,and plug your phone around if you dont,want to as long as theyre downloaded on,your apple watch even if you dont have,cell connection my watch doesnt have it,you have that capability there which,like i mentioned before is really,awesome so for sure when it comes down,to it apple music has a lot of features,and they have a ton of different songs,available personally i dont think,theres like a caveat i dont think,theres a con its just which one have,you kind of used before if youre,familiar with apple music then most,people are probably going to go and you,know stick with apple music you can get,it installed on so many different,devices iphones ipads your apple tv mac,you can have it on carplay theres tons,of smart tvs that have it gaming,consoles like the playstation 5,supported rokus pretty much every,single android phone has this capability,too pcs have it through itunes so you,can go ahead and you know access it on a,ton of different spots pretty much just,as much as spotify but it just kind of,depends on what you prefer i think if,im sticking with you know if i had to,start all over again i still think i,would stick with spotify but i think,apple music is pretty much the same,exact thing i will say though the ui of,apple music personally i think just,looks so much better than spotify,spotify really hasnt improved its ui,for better for worse i think its kind,of funny they havent improved it at all,its pretty much the same thing since it,started but i think apple music has more,of like a luxurious look to it and i,dont really think too many people care,about it personally i let it just open,up my you know music app and i pick one,and kind of move on but with you know,apple music you do have the capability,of having a little bit of a nicer one,when it comes down to it so in terms of,that i will tell you i think apple music,is still completely worth it i still,think it has a ton of capability built,in is it perfect not really but you know,i think its still here to stay and i,would highly recommend you know checking,it out if you want to so thats [Music],ive been using apple music for several,years now,ive dabbled in a few streaming services,sometimes i paid for them,sometimes it was just using a trial by,the end of it all,i still come back to apple music and,even now i am,currently a subscriber to apple music,apple music has the features weve come,to expect from music streaming service,seven million songs in its catalog a,comparable number to the likes of,spotify,youtube amazon and title the mobile app,is beautiful to look at,if you have another apple device such as,an apple tv a homepod,iphone ipad apples taking care of you,listening to music from my apple watch,to my airpods,fabulous the live lyrics are a pleasure,to look at as they move against the,gradient of an albums cover,art some of the user interface elements,have a learning curve,like how do i even get out of the live,lyrics,how do i how do i get out of the live,lyrics how,how do i oh there we go,its got music videos exclusive,interviews,and events you can do the regular things,like add music to a library thats,a hundred thousand songs strong create,playlists and get recommendations,however is in the details,personalization,recommendations discovery whichever is,the word for you,that is something that is tantamount for,users these days,we know what we like now but what does,apple music do to expand our palette,thats where the listen now tab comes,into play listen now is the tab where,most of the recommendation,engine comes together youre gonna find,your personalized mixes here,and carousel upon carousel of albums,suggested for you,im not a fan of these carousels the,recommendation algorithm feels,very low effort kind of like when you,were a kid and your mom would try to,pair you up,with another kid being like hey he he,likes video games too,but you like rpgs and he likes sports,and its like yeah,i guess if we completely ignored the,context of our hobbies,this is the perfect pairing thats what,these,carousels feel like,apple music has about four mixes one for,new music,one for music that youve been known to,listen to one mix for relaxing or,winding down,and one mix for building up energy too,the impressive thing about the chill and,get up mixes,is that apple music truly does succeed,in finding music,by artists or similar artists i like who,have tracks that are suitable for,winding down,or exercising too the favorites mix is,very competent,my favorites are absolutely on that list,week after week,the new music mix is where it becomes a,bit of a toss-up the new music mix is 25,songs long gets updated every friday and,thats it just one new music playlist,with,25 songs inspired by all the genres and,artists apple music knows you like,to me thats a problem if you listen to,distinctly different genres and dont,mind listening to,one song in one genre with the next song,being in a completely different genre,you like,this may be pleasant to you if you,listen to distinctly different genres,and dont like those genres say being,mixed together in the same playlist,this solution isnt ideal sometimes we,listen to music based on,mood or what we want to hear in a given,moment during the day,sometimes i want to get lost in,orchestral scores,sometimes i want to hear pop music,sometimes i just want to revisit anime,music,the desire to listen to certain music is,almost always accompanied,by a mood or feeling that i have in that,moment,i dont want to listen to these genres,back to back,new music frequently mixes genres,together in a way thats not,particularly,enjoyable sometimes it will have,significantly more of a genre than id,like to have in it,spotify has a similar feature called,discover weekly,30 songs sometimes it suffers from the,same problem,but spotify also has its daily mixes,where it creates a playlist,every day of music it knows you like,alongside,new music that it recommends this is one,area where,i am envious of spotify in that regard,for the sole reason being that,spotify has upwards of six daily mixes,for its users and the recommendation,engine,is smart enough to separate those mixes,into distinct,genre and artist mixes thats a really,good idea,let me say though that i dont put much,stock into,recommendation algorithms of most music,services because youre sometimes,liable to run into the trap where,recommendations are good at first,but then the algorithm starts to,recommend you music based on the,recommended,music you listen to and its at that,point you start veering into artists and,subgenres that you,never wanted to get into the weeds for,in the first place,then you have to try to undo your,recommendations so that it gives you,music based on whats just in your,library,i dont think most streaming services,with the discovery algorithm are immune,to this,i gotta be real though do the,aforementioned reasons i,actually try to ignore the listen now,tab the listen now tab,is not the only way to discover music on,apple music,like other music services apple music,has the ability to create stations based,on artists,and songs and it also has playlists,curated by humans or otherwise,the curated playlists are very good they,dont reach,spotify levels of surprise where you,think could this playlist get any better,but i think apple music is catching up,if you know what youre looking for,in a playlist id say youre likely to,find it,you have to know what youre looking for,though creating a radio station using a,song or artist is not to my liking,particularly,creating a station from a song services,like pandora and spotify are,pretty good at creating a station where,each track lives up to the tone,and the mood of the seed song when you,start a station with a song,it almost feels like apple music is,using the artists,of the song rather than song itself as,the jumping off point,almost like its telling you oh this is,a pop artist,so you want more music from pop artists,uh sure but i want their songs to sound,like,the song i used to create this station,next thing you know,that slow and melancholic song you,created a station for,turns into a streak of these upbeat pop,jams that bear little resemblance to the,music that came before it,playlist and machine generated radio,stations are ubiquitous,they are the two music discovery,features that every service has,and truly must have in order to even be,considered a competent service,apple music has a third feature and,its live radio no im not talking about,the integration of,international radio stations from tunein,but rather,legit exclusive live radio shows hosted,by a plethora of personalities,for years apple music has had their 24 7,live,beats 1 radio programs where people,ranging from radio personalities to,musicians,to music lovers like msnbcs ari melber,host their own radio show play music,they think youd like to hear,and its good beats 1 has since been,rebranded as apple music 1 but it,remains a 24 7 program,that is broadcasted worldwide the best,part about this is that,you dont have to listen live the shows,are recorded,and theyre saved so you can listen to,them whenever you like,some of my favorite shows are rocket,hour hosted by elton john and,j-pop now radio hosted by kantara ochier,this,is where you see the divergence between,apple and spotifys investment in,humans spotify is investing in radio so,to speak,in the form of podcast but this has made,some people scratch their heads,what do podcasts have to do with music,why is there a podcast tab in my spotify,app,is all this money thats going to humans,talking into mikes going to come at the,expense,of money going to humans who sing into,mics,with apple theyre throwing money at,humans talking into mics,in the name of humans who sing into them,baby,theres just one problem the shows,themselves,are great the thing is these shows are,often,an hour long sometimes i dont finish,them in one sitting but i want to finish,them so why,is it that when i try to go back to an,episode i didnt finish,it doesnt resume from the position i,last left off at,how about this ho

[Music],hi everyone its fjordstrom today is,december 1st happy december happy,holidays and happy spotify wraps day,because today is a day that you can just,view your year in review in the spotify,app and just relive the moments of the,year,now ive actually been a subscriber of,spotify since like january this year and,then like until halfway,in the summer when i switched back to,apple music and i really just like both,music streaming services each have their,own pros and cons both streaming,services have their own year in review,feature apple music has music replay and,spotify has spotify wrapped now the,second one is way more popular and if,you just open twitter you can see it,its currently trending with more than,six hundred thousand tweets right now,and um yeah i was just talking about it,if you open the spotify app you should,see this over here your 2021 wrapped is,here and you might expect the same thing,as last year but it is actually so,different that they always try to make,something fun um i will have to mute it,for copyright reasons then uh the first,thing it will show you is it will show,you like a move if 2121 was a movie and,youre the main character well,what is,the soundtrack of your movie it will,show you three songs,it will show you the opening credits,which in this case is this song over,here then you have like a song to defeat,to defeat the ancient vengeful spirits,num by linkin park and then you have,the end song which is from my case,mirror by uh sigrid afterwards it will,show you all your songs how many minutes,you spent listening currently for me,this is uh like half of my year 15 000,minutes which is much let me show you,your number one song then in the next,story it will show your top five songs,of the year and that will give you an,option to add a playlist of your top 100,songs of the year,to your libraries just tap here and its,added to your library then this is,something an audio aura this i found a,bit strange because i dont really know,what this is is wistful,and poetic,and they have this blue aura thing okay,uh next we also have the jars so 61,different jars and then your top five of,genres that you listen to my case i have,a very specific music taste,eurovision norwegian pop swedish pop,norwegian indie and soft soft rock so uh,this is your top five then something fun,a little game uh tap the false statement,technology was your number one podcast,topic and so on and uh this keeps this,apparently changes all the time so for,me in my case i think this is the wrong,one yeah okay found a lie then we come,to podcasts now im not really a podcast,person but this here is my number one,podcast of the year sorry but i only,watched two episodes or listened to two,episodes,but anyway that was my number one,and you can even tweet straight to,twitter of course and say thank you to,in my case mkbhd then it will give you,your top music artist let me show you,your other top artists and finally a,thank you and then the last story you,can like share your favorite,color okay you can choose different,colors and then share it with your,friends showing your top artists top,songs minutes lessons top genre knowing so,thats always fun,now on apple music you also have,something called music replays lets,open up apple music replay 2021 already,actually already existed ready for a,while now since the beginning of even of,the year you could like always keep,track of your top,top artist or top songs i mean top 50 no,top 100 songs of,the year and its always fun to just,keep track of if you want thats another,advantage of using apple music has now,this nice animation,so its always updated updated weekly so,until i think even the end of 2021 it,will keep on updating,so it is available here what about just,more statistics well you can find them,on,replay.music.apple.com now actually if,you tap on that it will automatically,bring you to the apple music app so if,youre lucky enough you could like skip,it go back so we have here the amount of,hours of music that i listened this year,then again the same playlists weve,already seen for a while now but here,you do see how many plays you have per,song then we have your different artists,so in my case i listened to 762 artists,this year,and you can see here which artists and,which ones are number one and also how,many hours you listen to them and thats,it so you can hit more and more and so,on just keep on pressing until you see,okay thats it so this is my at least,three hours up to,12 hours here on top,and um yeah thats about it and here we,go back to our other years you can go,back in time but this is it as you can,see the difference between,spotify and apple music is quite large,here um,spotify is clearly yeah making a whole,story about it making it really look fun,and colorful,shareable as well and thats something,that i personally miss would be really,cool if apple music could add it here in,the future and not just through a,website but really like integrated in,the apple music app that would just be,lovely and they dont really have to do,it especially for us,they would also gain from it because,people would like share their top,artists get like similar statistics that,spotify provides then its like free ads,i mean people just share their music,then to their social media and people,will maybe rediscover apple music in the,future so that would be cool if you know,replay 2022 would come or you never know,it might still come its just the,beginning of december but of course,currently everybodys getting their,spotify rap thing going on and yeah i,really hope that apple music will add it,in the future as well now of course the,year in review isnt the only thing,that would draw you to spotify or apple,music spotify has advantages this is one,of them of course you also have other,aspects like um hifi quality music in,apple music,these are things that are not currently,yet in spotify so um yeah once they come,here as well people might start dotting,again and so on but anyway competition,is good it just enhances both services,anyway share your experiences with both,services we,prefer apple music rather than spotify,just wanted to throw a quick warning if,youre a spotify user you might get a,little bit triggered right im also a,little bit of a mixed bag so dont personally prefer apple music is,shazam so apple recently purchased,shazam so you can actually shazam music,and add the music directly to your apple,music library um do you actually use,shazam in your daily life i actually,dont,brah,im how do you discover any music,all right heres one which i know youre,gonna not agree on but the algorithm a,lot of people think that the apple music,algorithm sucks,and that the spotify one is better i,agree and disagree at the same time ill,let you speak now because i know you,want to speak no i i just i think,spotifys discovery is what keeps me,there discover weekly,which apple music has as well but okay i,wont even go as far as playlists but i,think just raw discovery i think ive,found so many groups and songs,because of their discovery yeah well one,thing that i always tell people is like,apple music is more album oriented sure,well spotify the design and everything,is more playlist oriented so if you want,to discover new music,you know playlists are probably the,better way to go um and then apple truly,tries to define music by albums and,thats how the whole ui works i dont,know if you agree with that yeah no i,think its definitely more,curated by a human,for whatever reason spotify just seems,to,know like you like this you like this,you like this youre gonna probably like,this and the majority of the time for me,it ends up working out all right the,third reason why apple music is better,is that apple music actually has 75,million songs instead of spotify which,has 70. i know this might not seem a big,of a deal but 5 million songs is,actually a lot heres the question have,you ever,experienced like you searching a song on,spotify and you being like dang it,its not there i wonder what those five,million songs are alright the fourth,reason on why i personally prefer apple,music is with the lyrics so you know,with lyrics you could actually have live,lyrics on apple music recently spotify,copied that which is awesome you know,they both copy from each other which is,good like this they both improve but,apple music is superior because you can,actually search a lyric you know that,feeling when you know you cant remember,the title of a song you just start,typing it up and like the smaller thing,that you remember you cant do that,without music not with spotify i agree,yeah no i think the,visually as well on apple tv and those,things or if you go full screen its a,very nice experience and now heres a,word from our sponsor on apple music you,currently cant do shared playlists but,with cassette thats possible cassette,is a new app to make shared mixtapes,with your friends you can make your own,mixtape or browse the gallery for ideas,invite your friends to join the mix they,can listen and find how to listen back in spatial or,dolby,uh on apple music thats somewhere,outside of airpods max or any airpods in,general right so ive been fortunate,enough to hear things in like a proper,atmos studio and once you get to hear it,you always just kind of crave it going,forward and when you dont have it its,just like i really wish i could listen,to it in that,so,weve been on this deep dive trying to,find,really the most affordable way to do,that without getting,wild and i kind of hate you now because,now that ive i mean you guys are seeing,my my expressions right now on in my,reactions,i honestly dont want to go back to my,homepod mini stereo pair why do you,think spatial audio is the future and,what do you think so far on what it can,actually provide for the people,from their airpods for example i think,thats probably the number one reason is,that scales,something as simple as airpods or,something,you know is mid-range is what we,listened on right like,sonos i think was probably the,i dont want to say the first but the,best all-in-one package in terms of,getting,you know surround a sub uh front left,right everything coming and where would,work with apple tv to give you that,atmos spatial audio experience and the,the wild part with dolby and spatial,audio,as opposed to 5.1 because theres a lot,of arguments well 5.1 didnt work and,blah blah blah is itll scale as small,as you want or as big as you want so,from airpods to a living room setup to a,theater with 50 or 100 speakers when you,mix it in atmos it scales up or down as,big or as small as,your platform allows yeah so spatial,audio is huge and lossless audio is also,something that apple music has and,spotify doesnt and so far only like the,true audiophiles can truly experience,lossless audio right right but rumors,are saying that the upcoming airpods,pros will have wireless lossless audio,which is a game changer right right i,wont by any means,im far from an audiophile and tend to,not gravitate towards that term but i do,i enjoy music and i think,having a higher source file inevitably,is going to,be a better thing for everybody and im,i am excited ive always wanted apple to,implement airplay,lossless if they could somehow,do that into airpods and improve the,drivers and the tech its exciting to,see where things are headed for sure and,a bonus reason on why i personally,prefer apple music this is personally,like my honest opinion the design of,apple music,features the artwork mostly while,spotify has a more risky design and they,play around with different things i,would say visually i think its,aesthetically pleasing to look at apple,music i like that spotify gives you a,chance to mess around with splash pages,so you can do,you know moving,music video like elements of your page,yeah its fun but,in terms of just pure aesthetic apple,music is absolutely,nicer to look at the artwork is the,protagonist sure apple watch app way,much more superior on apple music true,the the biggest thing is apple releasing,lossless and spatial audio and not,charging more was the biggest thing,because they scale it to everybody,everybody that has an iphone everyone,that has apple music theyre not having,to pay extra and they can experience a,taste of that,for not paying extra than they would,somewhere else so on january 13th you,released startup,your fourth single im right,yes yes yeah i dont even know uh yes,congrats um wanna tell us a little bit,about it spatial audio by the way was,you did a very good job yeah i mean it,was albums that I lit tried,to I tried to like like I tried to,listen through it multiple times and,then kind of like I was disappointed in,some of the songwriting so I never went,back was her loss on there her loss was,not on mine oh that wasnt on mine so,maybe never mind more than her loss I,guess recently yeah wow yeah because I,guess he was trying to it was not,experiment with I guess you were trying,I was trying to get the album you were,trying to understand her loss I took,what I wanted from it yeah and and would,listen to them joints heres my question,yeah how many people went back to the,Kendrick album,its one of my most listened albums of,the year next to Pusha T for sure yeah,go back that much you didnt not at all,to what Kendrick I didnt go back that,much WoW is there a reason Pusha did,still letting us know how much koki,sells and to the I think it was past,tense it was sold sold Ive been pushing,really wrapped in past tense this time,on this album more than he has in the,past if you really pay attention to it,because it might not see like thats a,good good perspective I didnt think,about like that because if you listen,hes storytelling about events of the,past especially how he opens up the,project we talk about his former manager,right yes yes youre right its a very,past tense normally pushes rapping in,the present yeah Pusha obviously lives,in a space of the hip-hop world,critiquing his Coke rap people who dont,like it people who love it right and so,then theres I think it was in this,album or in this album cycle where Pusha,was like look this is what I do yeah you,know what Im saying so hes owning it I,think out of all his solo projects I,think this is probably the best,the best one its way more structured,its way the sequencing is is phenomenal,obviously its Kanye and um Pharrell but,this this structure the store like you,said the storytelling abilities on this,album I think outlasts every solo,project hes done and he got his,audience you know what Im saying his,audience,hes working for him yeah you know what,Im saying hes doing his numbers I,gotta say I could tell who has kids and,who dont,man yeah whatever,no no How to use Apple Music

Apple Music is one of the most popular  music streaming services out there  ,and whether youre brand new to Apple  Music, music streaming in general,  ,or youre familiar with it, but  you want to expand your knowledge,  ,I can promise you this, youre definitely  going to learn something in this video.,So lets dive in. And first, let me address  what Apple Music is, and more importantly,  ,what it is not. Apple Music is a  music streaming service where you pay  ,a monthly fee to listen to and download an  unlimited amount of music with no ads. Now,  ,whats different with Apple Music if youre  familiar with purchasing music through something  ,like iTunes is, if you download music from  Apple Music while youre subscribed to it  ,and then you unsubscribe, the music  you downloaded will no longer play.,The main way youll interact with Apple Music  most of the time is through the Apple Music  ,app which is available on iOS, Android,  Mac, iPadOS, TVOS, ChromeOS, and WatchOS.,For Windows, you can use the iTunes app  to listen to Apple Music or this into it,  ,through the web at music.apple.com.,So now, lets take a look at how to use the Apple  Music app. There are 5 key sections: Listen Now,  ,Browse, Radio, Library, and Search. Listen Now  shows you a lot of auto-generated playlists  ,and things to listen to that are based on your  music preferences and listening history. When  ,you want to find something to listen to, this will  likely be one of the first places you should go to  ,in the app. Browse shows you recommendations  for what to listen to based on what’s hot  ,in music today. You can see what songs  are topping the charts on Apple Music  ,in your country or a different country, or  even in major cities. You can also browse  ,music by mood, see new album releases that  are popular, and even see upcoming albums.,One cool thing about upcoming albums in  Apple Music is that you can add them to  ,your library. To do this, click the add button  to add it to your library. Upcoming albums will  ,show the expected album release date and  any singles currently available like on  ,Ed Sheeran’s upcoming album, for  example. Also you’ll likely see  ,animated album artwork on some newer albums  which is another cool Apple Music feature.,Now, another important feature of both the Listen  Now and Browse tabs are Playlists. Typically the  ,Listen Now tab will have more auto-generated  playlists with music tuned to your music tastes,  ,like Replay 2021, which shows my favorite  tracks of the year all in one playlist,  ,New Music Mix, a mix of new music based on  your music tastes, Favorites Mix, Get Up Mix,  ,which obviously has an upbeat tone, Browse will  have more genre or artist-focused playlists.  ,And if you find a playlist you like, make  sure you add it to your library. This is so  ,itll be easier to find the next  time you want to listen to it.,To do this, just hit the three dots next  to the playlist and select add to library.  ,From the library, auto generated playlists  will continually update with new songs and  ,if you have automatic downloads turned  on, which we’ll cover in a second,  ,the new songs added to these playlists  will automatically download as well.,Now thats just one part of Apple Musics  playlist feature. You can, of course,  ,create your own playlist to share with  friends, family, or just keep for yourself.  ,To create a playlist go into your Apple  Music Library and find the playlists  ,section, then select Add New Playlist. From  there you can give your playlist a name,  ,description, and if you want your  playlist to show up in your profile,  ,and I’ll cover what that is in a second, and  then finally you can add music to your playlist.,This will bring up a new window where  you can search either all of Apple Music  ,or just your music library for  specific music to add to your playlist.  ,Once you’ve found a piece of music you want to  add, click the plus button next to the song to  ,add it to your new playlist. Once you’ve added  some songs to your playlist you can go back and  ,start re-ordering them to the order you want  and then click done to save your new playlist.,Now, if you want to share the music that youre  currently listening to or playlists with friends  ,or family who also use Apple Music, you can  do this by utilizing the profile feature.  ,Go to Listen Now and at the top right corner click  on your profile icon and then select view profile  ,or Get started, depending on if you’ve setup a  profile before or this is your first time setting  ,one up. Profiles allow you to share what you’ve  been listening to, certain playlists, and allow  ,you to follow your friends to see what they’re  listening to. The first is  ,auto generated stations based off a particular  song, genre or artist you choose. Apple Music Vs Spotify! (Which Should You Buy?) (2022)

well everyone ive actually been talking,quite a bit about spotify and apple,music on my second channel for a few,years now and to be honest ive always,wanted to compare them so lets go and,see how both of these big music,streaming softwares kind of hold up in,2022. now theres been a lot of changes,between both of these softwares which is,so crazy and what i will definitely tell,you is if you have a preference over one,then i would highly recommend just,choosing that one over the other one for,example if you like apple music or,spotify whichever one you like i,wouldnt necessarily switch from one or,the other but there are some advantages,for both of these which is always a,really cool thing now the first thing,being with you know just the,availability of them you can go ahead,and pretty much install these on pretty,much the same type of devices but with,iphones you know and pretty much ipads,and ipods it already comes pre-built in,with the software so you dont really,have to download anything its already,kind of there whereas you kind of have,to download spotify but theres a lot of,different android phones actually that,have spotify built-in as well theres,also a lot of different voice services,you know like google home and different,things like that that already have,spotify or apple music built in homepods,or for apple music spotify is also on,really the similar amount of streaming,devices there too so the availability is,kind of the same but well get into that,in a second i will tell you though in,terms of pricing there is a free version,of spotify where theres only a free,trial with apple music so if youre,actually trying to find the best one for,the value something like spotify you can,go on spotify and you can listen to the,songs there and its free but there are,ads built in so if youre not,comfortable listening to ads or anything,well then you can always get the more,premium you know version with apple,music it is a three month free trial i,think and then after that it is 9.99 a,month so definitely keep that in mind,youre definitely spending a little bit,more money versus the free version but,they are relatively around the same,price tag when it comes down to the,actual subscription model now i,mentioned this before but with the,availability with apple music you can,get this it you know comes with siri so,if you want to play a song through siri,its going to just revert straight to,apple music but i think you can change,that with spotify too its available on,homepods its available on the apple,music one radio and you can listen to,songs online as well which is really,cool on spotify though i think you can,get it on a couple more devices so you,can do it on your iphones your androids,you can do it on your playstation 5,playstation 4 and your xboxes and it has,an online counterpart as well so i do,think theres a little bit more,availability with spotify in total than,with something like you know apple music,but i think a majority of people end up,listening to music through their phones,so its kind of the same thing,throughout now i will definitely tell,you as well one thing that ive seen,with spotify is that it seems like,theyre funding a lot more projects in,the podcast realm and theyre trying to,be more than just a you know just music,streaming software it seems like theyre,trying to grow from that so i think the,future of spotify may be a little bit,you know more involved than with apple,music but another big thing is that the,community aspect of something like you,know spotify theyve actually been doing,a really really good job at allowing you,to actually go ahead and share your,music to other social medias or to other,people its a much easier experience,than i would say apple music if you want,to go ahead and show the song youre,listening to to like other applications,or something well you can go ahead and,do that and it comes natively built in,with something like spotify with apple,music not completely not completely the,case but its still you know if you want,to take a screenshot and share the song,or whatever youre listening to well,theres that capability too but if you,want to go ahead and you know have a,little bit more of a social media aspect,to your you know music streaming,software where spotify is probably the,one for you now another thing is with,the music library i havent really seen,too many differences theres a lot of,overlap a lot of the music i listen to,is available on both platforms but im,sure there are artists out there who,pick one over the other and sometimes,there are you know apple music,exclusives and sometimes there are,spotify exclusives as well most of the,time eventually they will have the same,music offerings so even if it comes out,to like apple music at first well you,can probably get it on apple music and,then maybe like a week or two later,itll come out on spotify so thats,usually how it goes like vice versa,another big thing is the ui personally i,actually like apple music a little bit,more than spotify but im honestly kind,of used to spotify at this point to be,honest so i havent really noticed like,a big thing like oh i want to switch,over to this one or this one im kind of,getting the same vibe from both and,typically i dont really spend too much,time on the ui because i just change it,to a song and then i go ahead and just,kind of move on with my life so to be,completely honest if there was one that,i had to choose between both my go-to,music streaming software right now is,spotify i pay for it and i enjoy it so,far and i havent really had too many,issues with it ive been using it for i,think probably five or six years now,probably more than that and ive enjoyed,it you know i havent had too many,issues with it ive used apple music you,know ive had many people who have apple,music and they swear by it they love it,a lot but i dont know ive never really,gotten into it i would probably prefer,spotify just because there is you know,that permanent free option if you want,to but there is also apples free trial,that you can try for three months and,then kind of see if you like it from,there i do like apples native you know,applications though just having things,built in i feel like ios kind of tunes,itself better for apple music but i do,kind of have all my playlists and all my,music already on spotify so thats kind,of like how it works its kind of like a,catch-22 so that kind of covers it id,love to hear how you guys would rate,these things and which one you guys,prefer
