peppermint,but then you take a drink of water and,its like super cold,thats,but how but what flavor is that its a,feeling i guess i did a little more,research and i saw a few articles that,talked about how astronauts discovered a,dust cloud in the milky way,made up of ethyl formate thats the same,chemical,that gives raspberries uh their flavor,and it also has the smell of rum,so,based on that im going with raspberry,so it could be a raspberry flavor i,dont know if you can see how red that,is,its really red so,raspberry so i did some more reading and,theres people that are saying it tastes,like you think campfire,makes smores that it has a hint of a,smores flavor,i dont know i almost wish i hadnt read,about it,but i had to know what the space flavor,what that meant,um,because now im afraid that im just,gonna because,someone said smores that its gonna be,in my head so but based on the color,and what i just read about the raspberry,flavor that would make sense but,who would know that really does anyone,does anyone care what space tastes like,i dont i dont know if youve ever,thought i wonder what space tastes like,let me know in the comments below so,coca-cola has released this starlight,under,a new platform called coca-cola,creations,um so its just for limited run drinks,like this,you know its not gonna be out forever,just a limited time i guess until they,come with a new flavor i guess whatever,trending or popular,theyre going to come with a new flavor,so,just just give me my diet coke thats,all what thats all i want all right,so you know i drink diet coke but ill,try the original,and actually im not a fan of the zero,sugar i know some people prefer the zero,sugar over the diet but,and i did read about it its still,aspartame but,its a different formula where,this is supposed to taste more like,regular coke and um,the diet has a lighter taste to it,let me pour it so you can see how red,looks like big red to me,busy,oh,this is what space smells like,i dont even get that coke smell,all right,i feel like i got a marshmallow flavor,thats very detailed from the smore,it smells kind of berry,im gonna eat the fizziness of the,carbonation,its a very light flavor,and some people i guess that you know it,tastes like coke with a flavor and i,dont even know if i get a coke flavor,its very subtle,its not like a cherry coke,um,gosh,you gotta taste the smores its like,its just all in my head right i i would,have never come up with that,right,no i dont smell,okay and im not getting that cold,flavor,or that cold sensation that i thought,that how it was being described im not,getting that,sensation of being super cold,my nose,gosh,that initial,taste,im not even getting really strong,like a subtle raspberry maybe but at,first it is more like a smores,maybe its the graham cracker,i think this will sell just because,people are curious like what the hell,what the heck is,space flavored,its like im not getting that taste,that i initially did when i first,but its not even a strong cola taste,its,its very subtle,i dont know,i dont know those first few sips that i,got i think i did i was i was a,marshmallow maybe it was more graham,graham cracker flavor,but im not even like barry,yeah,barrys even a stretch,okay so i have to interrupt um,after i was done um recording this video,i was sitting here,um and i i was could smell the drinks,and,it smells like cotton candy this,is the flavor im getting now i dont,maybe i get a little bit of that taste i,am so confused by this drink but just,sitting here,um i was starting to get the smell of,cotton candy so,cotton candy raspberry smores,its really whatever you want it to be i,guess i dont know,i say give it a try i think theyre a,dollar i think i paid 1.98 at walmart,they also come in NEW Coca Cola Starlight – Space Flavored Coke Review
ive been avoiding a lot of soda,releases but every so often they come,out with something so cracked out,sounding everyone has to try it right,well today we have coca-cola starlight,limited edition,in zero sugar as well starlight has this,beautiful red color to it right,um,and a cooling sensation that is supposed,to,take you out of this world and into,space,its the first in their new line of,coca-cola creations drinks,lets crack one open lets talk about,lets talk about the idea first okay,um because i have to play devils,advocate here first off this is the kind,of ridiculous stuff that i would come up,with space flavored coca-cola,cool right wild,but lets be real,who the hell thought that was a good,idea who even dreamt this up,space flavored coca-cola this is what,youre bringing to market,lets give it a shot ah this is the,sugar variety 240 calories in this,bottle,uh,yeah 65 grams of sugar man i mean you,drink your soda im not here im not,shaming anyone here just,i used to drink so much soda all day i,im so unhealthy as it is i could be so,much worse off,lets try starlight limited edition,all right let me take you through that,roller coaster there,first you get hit with a little bit of,like vanilla flavor almost i want to say,is there vanilla in here,does it say,it doesnt say,doesnt say what the flavor is,you feel like youre drinking vanilla,coke at first and then it gets bitter,thats the cooling sensation thats the,cooling part of this,but on subsequent sips here im not,getting that as much i just get that,vanilla coke almost one of my,subscribers said this was the most,disgusting coca-cola they had ever the,most disgusting soda theyd ever tasted,they couldnt even finish the bottle i,could finish this this tastes fine,because im not getting that weird,aftertaste that i did on the first sip,it really just tastes like vanilla coke,to me but its red,um,selfie thumbnail with them i guess,i dont i dont know,uh lets try the zero sugar one thats,the one im actually gonna finish here,same gorgeous red color,um,yeah lets see,yeah tastes like the zero calorie,version of whatever this is supposed to,be,coca-cola starlight,i dont think the effect theyre going,for is as big as it should be,i dont get a space effect i dont i,dont get any of that,i i got it on the first sip for the,first one i saw what you were going for,every sip after the other flavors,overwhelm it i think this ones a mess,i encourage you to go pick it up and try,it though so you can see,what this is,coca-cola starlight,what were you smoking when you came up,with ah,heres my beef with coke,you all know i love pepsi i love,love mountain dew im a mountain dew,addict i have eight packs of zero sugar,mountain dew in my truck thats another,story these guys they had the pricing,was all 398 but all the spark zero,sugars rang up its 5.98 she had to go,wipe those out of there she had to punch,her password and every time it was a,disaster then i had to show the guy my,receipt at the door you know how they,never check your receipt they never ask,me for my receipt anywhere ever because,i had all those mountain dews hes like,oh yeah i gotta see it well their,cellular connection wasnt working and i,paid with apple pay i admittedly didnt,know if the apple pay actually went,through and charged me i assumed it did,because the screen said i was good my,phone said there was a problem,i figured i either paid 38 bucks for my,purchase or i got 38 bucks a free,mountain dew i wouldnt really care,either way until i got to the guy and i,had to wait there for five minutes for,the stupid thing to load up,walmart um yeah no i love i love,mountain dew,and,i,feel okay saying that i think surge,and vault taste better than mountain dew,theyre the same soda tastes better than,mountain dew its at least different,enough its exciting enough its a,bolder flavor,but coke didnt keep with it like they,always do they went back to mellow,yellow which is more bitter than,mountain dew it clearly doesnt sell as,well i dont know whos drinking it i,dont know why they wont keep out,search people like search give us surge,they market mellow yellow towards like,hunters,i know hunters,theyre not bringing mellow yellows into,the forest theyve got real tree,decorated mellow yellows and stuff,hunters arent drinking mellow yellow,hunters are drinking beers and i dont,know what else thats the ones i know,are,theyre not drinking mellow yellow maybe,theyre bringing red bulls and stuff i,dont know,stop with the mellow yellow stop,we dont want mellow yellow to buy a tank of gas theyre,also less likely to splurge on the extra,coke feisty cherry at their local gas,station basically all of these issues,have fused together to form the perfect,storm for feature was that,it had 15 calories so random anyway all,of this is in an effort for coke to,refocus on their core brands classic,diet zero sugar and for some reason now,plus coffee but thats not to say that,theyre not doing anything new anything,thats remotely experimental has been,banished over to the lands of memes and,glow-ups the internets the place where,we have no standards and will put,anything into our bodies its not even,an exaggeration theyve made coke,creations a new marketing strategy quote,supported by a digital first marketing,campaign basically the plan here is to,use the power of digital creators as,well as the internet hive mind as a,testing ground to promote experimental,coke flavors and youre telling me we,werent the first on your list of people,to reach out to coca-cola,coming to store shelves soon an,experimental new coke flavor matpat,seething rage anyway the first,concoction to emerge from this whole,thing is what i want to talk about today,the new the alluring the confusing coke,starlight a soda that advertises on the,can that its quote space flavored,excuse me space flavored all right,rewind a bit this company is no stranger,to taking risks on advertising and,theres no company in the world more,willing to spend marketing dollars to,make sure that coke is never out of,arms reach if you havent seen our,history of coca-cola advertising check,out how coke invented santa its pretty,wild some of the stuff this companys,done then again it shouldnt be all that,surprising this is the same company that,pulled a mr beast back in 1990 by,stuffing actual money inside of soda,cans to get people to buy coca-cola,classic introduces magic hands so you,know if they want something to work,theyre gonna go all in on it and coke,starlight which lets be honest sounds,more like a highly caffeinated my little,pony is cokes first attempt to create,an internet buzzy brand designed to,become a pop culture trend thanks to,social media influencers and so true to,form they did go all in on it it has all,the corporate mandated check boxes of,something young and hip and cool it,features a qr code to unlock an,augmented reality concert by ava max,instagram filters for all you over 30,moms rocking out on ig an immersive asmr,experience ar emojis even a limited,edition clothing line honestly the only,thing that theyre missing right now is,some badly designed nfts and youve got,yourself the capitalist dystopia bingo,but for as over the top as all this,sounds it isnt the first time that,cokes gone all out to use space to,shill soda between the 1960s and the,1980s the cold war space race sparked an,obsession with eating in zero gravity on,spaceships which actually provide some,of the roots to coke starlights,re-emergence today starting over 50,years ago it wasnt enough to fly to the,moon you had to bring a cool snack to,the moon as the influencers of their day,astronauts blessed a number of,quote-unquote space-age snacks from the,time period including the most famous,tang whose entire marketing campaign,revolves around the fact that it was,that orange drank that astronauts took,to space one time in 1962. order to become the,first soda drink in space to make it all,happen both companies rushed to make,space compatible soda dispensers for out,of this world carbonation because you,know the nuclear cold war was going on,and soda in space topped the list of,national priorities this quarter of a,million dollar coke dispenser costing,about 650 000 in todays money won the,space coal awards giving coke the edge,in interstellar soda fountain ventures,the reason youve probably never heard,of any of this though is that the,testing for the system debuted during,the nasa challenger missions in 1986.,missions that would see a tragic end,when a shuttle exploded shortly after,launch which brings us back to today,coke starlight and the taste of space,this product is billed as space flavored,thats in outer space but thats got to,just be a marketing gimmick right like,what would space really taste like well,im here equipped with a 12-pack of coke,and a few bottles of skepticism to try,and figure out what the heck space,flavored in this instance means like,really does space have a flavor and if,so could coke possibly match it first,lets start off with how coca-cola,itself describes the flavor of starlight,quote great coca-cola taste with a dash,of the unexpected including a reddish,hue lets pause it right there it,doesnt bode all that well when a,discussion of taste begins with what the,color of the thing is anyway back to the,quote its taste includes additional,notes reminiscent of stargazing around a,campfire as well as a cooling sensation,that evokes the feeling of a cold,journey to space to that i gotta say,what are you talking about as far as i,know stargazing tastes like grass,clippings and mosquitoes and campfires,taste like literal ash floating through,the air so uh so far theyve told me,that the soda tastes like cold ashes and,bugs but hey its cool and refreshing,since that gave me basically nothing to,work with i decided to open the floor,for opinions first i started with other,online beverage reviewers and the,results were,varied the qualities of this,remind me of cotton candy but its,offset by also this flavor thats like
