sorry,sorry,[Music],there was a point of time where i was,worried for karthikaryan as an actor the,man who has made a name for himself with,commercial comedies would have become a,caricature of himself so much so that,producers would not cast him in anything,other than the roles that were working,with several creative differences in,professional backlash i saw a man sign,films with a vengeance almost to prove,that he is on the lookout of redefining,himself as a performer signing films,with creators like ramadvani and hansel,mehta the marker is one of those films,an interesting and offbeat combination,of karthik and madwani that really,interests viewers of whether karthik can,prove himself outside his comfort zone,the film available on netflix is a,remake of the 2013 south korean film,terror live and focuses on a journalist,arjun pathak played by karthikaryan a,man who is in a professional slump and,has been demoted from prime time,television to hosting a radio show with,the same channel when a caller states,that he is going to blow up c-link in,mumbai the host brushes it off as a,prank call only to the shock of many to,notice that the iconic bridge has been,actually bombed how the journalist takes,this situation as an opportunity to use,it as leverage in order to make his,return to television the irreversible,impact that it has on the city of mumbai,the nature of journalism that is exposed,and more importantly the motive of the,caller gets slowly unearthed this,basically forms more or less the entire,premise of this film this is a movie,that cannot be fully praised or,completely dismissed and therefore i,would also urge you to comment down,below of what worked for you and did not,work for you regarding this movie heres,me telling you the good and bad aspects,of the film so that you guys can,ultimately decide whether to watch it on,netflix or not efficient editing and,screenplay this movie is a scene to see,in remake of the original south korean,film this is both a plus and the problem,with this movie the issue is something,that i will come to later but the reason,why it works is because the original,narrative does not waste time to get,into the thick of things immediately,there is almost no time for setup or,context and we are right into the radio,show and the call commences yes of,course a pratik gohard song in the,introduction might be misplaced but that,is hindi cinema for you the odd need for,creators to overexplain and spoon feed,us a romantic montage to provide context,of how happy the couple is the film is 1,hour and 44 minutes long so it really,does account for an exciting watch it,has its outlandish and subpar moments,along the way but what i can say is that,the film is not a slog in any way new,developments take place dynamics,consistently change and this accounts,for an exciting watch especially if you,have not seen the original film if you,have seen the south korean movie i would,honestly be bewildered on what could be,the reason to watch this film other than,karthikaryan trying to reinvent himself,writing the poorest quality about the,marker is its dialogues written by,puneet sharma and ramadwani while trying,to provide an insight into the state of,journalism and an insight into the mind,of arjun pathak the dialogues are,extremely generic and sometimes,uncomfortable to listen to as i told you,previously the film is a scene to see in,copy of the south korean film and what,is disappointing is that the creators,have in no way adapted the film to be,unique to a country like india other,than the bridge changing its location,and being in mumbai the characters are,almost exaggerated stereotypes of the,individuals that we saw in the original,film other than the sex of some of the,characters that changes nothing really,gets altered amrita sabash is handed the,most generic lines as the stoic producer,who could only care about the ratings of,her channel from dialogues that,consistently state things like thora or,drama thought our action cue sad music,sad music volume,its attempt is to showcase the heartless,nature of journalism but lacks the,nuance that is expected from a,rambadwani film there isnt a single,scene in this movie where there isnt a,blaring background score to assist the,film and i wondered as the producer kept,on giving pep talk to her host about,what is news and what is truth there are,two approaches that you can take,regarding an insight into any industry,either it can be as layered as the,newsroom or it can be as stereotypical,and over the top as a madhur bandarkar,movie that worked in the 2000s but 15,years have passed from that kind of,storytelling the lack of subtlety in,this film is something that will,definitely be a sore to the eye let me,know what you think about the same the,supporting cast i cannot in any way,fault the performances of the supporting,cast of this film ramadwani is a very,unique director who shoots his actors in,real time and the interactions that you,see with arjun pathak that includes the,caller the producer and the reporter on,location its actually happening in real,time so this enhances scenes and demands,a lot more conviction from the actors,while amrita subhash is handed the most,ordinary and generic lines she really,stands out as the no-nonsense producer,in the film renault thakur has a small,part but she doesnt put a foot wrong in,any way i dont know why but a lot of,people are not talking about soho,majumdar who is the caller in this film,i understand that most of it is voice,acting but the man really has a command,over his dialogues to invest you into,the motive and storyline just through,your voice you really have to work on,how to modulate and enunciate at the,right moments and he has done a splendid,job over the top and subpar moments my,biggest issue with the film was that,even in its high moments whether arjun,finding himself trapped in a corner or,emotional moments where characters think,that they will lose someone it doesnt,really impact you to rile up an emotion,within you a cue of a sweet moment that,would be followed by a melancholic,background score just did not make me,emotional did you also feel that you,were not as invested emotionally,especially when a song like yakuya,kappaya played somehow i felt that the,core emotion seemed to be missing not to,forget some of the over the top moments,that include a rescue mission of a,little girl caught hilariously in,contrast to the original film and the,man on the call basically playing god,and having a nexus that is tacked into,every building and individual you can,think of at one point of time i was like,this man is capable of anything and it,is going out of hand something that i,felt about the original film anyway,karthikaryan and the intention of its,commentary this was my biggest point can,karthikaryan convincingly portray the,role of arjun pathak in a ramadvani film,i had my doubts and i can surely tell,you that he has put forth a really good,effort as an actor im being kind by,saying this because i think it is,praiseworthy that a man is trying to,experiment and reinvent himself there,are moments where i was surprised on how,natural his performance was reacting to,what madwanis world offers a lot of,randomness a sound check interrupting,his thought process or a man offering,him coffee when he is in absolute,distress karthik naturally reacts to his,surroundings brilliantly i was rooting,for him to do well throughout the film,but i can definitely say that in the,emotional moments there is a stark,difference between the realism that was,offered by hajoong woo in the original,film versus karthik being a little,louder for the same the performance is,not entirely bad he stretches himself,and really attempts authenticity but,there is merit to the argument that his,performance is inconsistent i think such,experiments will only make him more,versatile and capable but it is a good,start the portrayal of trp hungry,journalism can get a bit jarring

Anchor kya hota hai? Anchor actor hota hai.,Actor ko kya chahiye? Actor ko audience chahiye.,Audience ko kya chahiye? Audience ko drama chahiye.,This exchange, between a television channel boss and a leading television anchor,nails the rotten state of Indian broadcast media.,Truth and trust are the collateral damage in a ceaseless ratings war. ,All that matters is eyeballs, by any means necessary.,Dhamaka is a largely faithful remake of the 2013 South Korean film The Terror Live.,Kartik Aaryan plays Arjun Pathak.,Arjun was once a successful, award-winning television personality with a prime-time show.,But his career and his personal life are now in shambles.,Arjun has been demoted to a radio show, which made me wonder,how RJs will feel about their job being seen as a downgrade.,Arjun is frustrated and deeply unhappy.,When a random caller on his show claims that he will blow up the Sea Link in Mumbai,and then makes good on his promise, Arjun grabs the chance to grab the spotlight again.,Dhamaka, which was shot during the pandemic in ten days,,is essentially a vehicle for Kartik to show that he can do much more than deliver monologues with aplomb.,Arjun undergoes a steep learning curve.,He is a corrupt opportunist but as the drama unfolds, he comes to understand that,he, like the bomber, is a disposable pawn in a system that thrives on exploitation and lies.,The dhamaka is literal but also metaphorical,– Arjun’s career, his reputation and his relationships, his place in the world are all blown to bits.,As he is put through the wringer, on live television, Arjun discovers his own best instincts.,It’s a delectable role and under the tutelage of director Ram Madhvani,,Kartik shows flashes of depth and seriousness that he hasn’t revealed before,– especially in the last thirty minutes of the film.,Kartik found his fame playing the boy-next-door in rom-coms,,in which he sometimes came off as smug but also high-pitched and overeager.,Thats entirely missing here.,The screenplay offers the actor moments of vulnerability and stillness and he does well with them.,Ram and his co-writer Puneet Sharma also attempt to weave in more emotion and plausibility into their version.,Arjun’s wife Soumya, played by Mrunal Thakur, gets a little more screen time.,And Dhamaka offers an explanation, however feeble, for the ease with which the bomber is able to blow up things.,But ultimately the middling nature of the source material also reflects in the remake.,The Terror Live is intermittently gripping with stretches of suspense and so is Dhamaka.,Most of the film takes place in one location.,Ram, DOP Manu Anand, lead editor Monisha R. Baldawa,and co-editor Amit Karia notch up the tension with shaky cameras and quick cuts.,The film begins with footage of Arjun and Soumya in happier times.,Even the couple’s small, personal moments are recorded.,It’s a nice touch establishing that this is a story about a life lived on camera.,But finally, the scenario is too outlandish and the writing, too ordinary.,Take the character of Ankita, Arjun’s boss.,Ankita who barks orders and manipulates people and is only invested in her own ascent,,is such a cliché that even the wonderful Amruta Subhash can’t make her real.,The same goes for Soumya, who is portrayed as a paragon of courage and virtue.,She is Arjun’s conscience, which he loses along the way.,He becomes, like the rest of the television folk, a person who doesn’t report the news but sells it.,The irony is that the television channel is named Bharosa 24X7.,Ram, usually a director given to subtlety and shades, underlines the messaging here.,And just in case you don’t get the moral of the story,,the song ‘Khoya Paaya’ composed by Vishal Khurana and sung by Amit Trivedi and Delraaz Bunshah, hammers it in.,Arjun is also a bit of an also-ran,,coming on the heels of other blindly ambitious television anchor characters,such as Sanjeev Mehra in Paatal Lok and Mansi Hirani in Mumbai Diaries 26/11.,And the idea of a common man against the system was done with far more suspense and grip,in Neeraj Pandey’s 2008 film A Wednesday.,Dhamaka isn’t a bad film – I don’t think Ram is capable of making one.,But it doesnt match his previous work – the brilliant Neerja, also a story about terror in an enclosed space,,and the series Aarya.,Dhamaka is passable, which coming from Ram, feels like he was slumming it.,You can watch the film on Netflix India.

ने,एक और फिल्म साइन की थी जिसका निर्माण तथा,शाहरुख खान डायरेक्टर राम माधवानी ने एक,पूरी फिल्म देखी उनको बहुत पसंद आई वह इस,कहानी को लेकर रोनी स्क्रूवाला के पास गए,और उनसे रिक्वेस्ट की कि वह इस फिल्म को,प्रोड्यूस करें रोनी स्क्रूवाला ने,नेटफ्लिक्स में बात की और नेटफ्लिक्स,वालों ने उस कहानी को अप्रूवल दे दिया,इसके बाद हीरो की तलाश चालू हुई तो राम,कार्तिक के पास पहुंचे उस कहानी को सुनाने,के लिए कार्तिक ने कहानी सुनी और कार्तिक,को कहानी ठीक लगी कार्तिक ने राम माधवानी,साहब से कहा कि मुझे कुछ दिन का टाइम,दीजिए मैं सोच रहा हूं कि मुझे इस वक्त,में ऐसी कहानी करनी चाहिए या नहीं करनी,चाहिए यह रोल मेरे लिए ठीक है या नहीं है,राम माधवानी सामने का के भाई साहब वैसे तो,आपकी मर्जी है आप जिस दिन सोच है 15 दिन,सोचे बट मैं आपको एक बात बताना चाहता कि,अगर आप यह फिल्म करेंगे तो आपको मिलेंगे,20 करोड़ रुपए यह बात सुनकर कार्तिक जोर,से हंस और कार्तिक ने मालवा हिसाब से कहा,कि सर आप लगता है मजाक के मूड में है और,मैं बिल्कुल भी मजाक नहीं कर रहा हूं मैं,सीरियसली आपसे कह रहा हूं कि मुझे कुछ दिन,का टाइम दीजिए सोचने के लिए माधवानी ने,कहा कि कार्तिक जान मेरी यह सही नहीं है,कि मैं मजाक करूं और ना ही आप मेरे चड्डी,बड्डी है कि मैं आपके साथ मजाक करूंगा मैं,आपको सीरियसली कह रहा हूं कि अगर आप यह,फिल्म करेंगे तो आपको 20 करोड़ रुपए,मिलेंगे और 5 करोड़ रुपए आपको साइनिंग,अमाउंट मिलेगा कार्तिक घुमानी सा मुझे,लगता है बहुत ज्यादा नाराज हो गए हैं आपको,बहुत बुरा लगा है इसलिए आप मेरे ऊपर,तानाकशी कर रहे हैं या आप सीरियसली मजाक,कर रहे हैं बट आप यकीन करें मैंने यह नहीं,कहा कि आपकी कहानी खराब है मैं सिर्फ यह,कह रहा हूं कि मुझे कुछ दिन सोचने का मौका,दीजिए माधवानी ने कहा कि कार्तिक जब आप,बिलकुल ही गलत समझ रहे हैं आप यकीन करें,में बिल्कुल भी मजाक नहीं कर रहा हूं अगर,आपके फिल्म करेंगे तो आपको 20 करोड़ रुपए,मिलेंगे और ₹5 आपको साइनिंग अमाउंट मिलेगी,अगर आप हां करते हैं तो आपके सामने अभी,मैं फोन करता हूं आपको 20 मिनट के अंदर,आपका 5 करोड़ तक चेक मिल जाएगा कार्तिक को,तो अभी भी यकीन नहीं आया था लेकिन कार्तिक,ने सोचा कि मैं चांस लेने में क्या हर्ज,है कार्तिक ने कहा कि आडवाणी साहब अगर आप,वाकई सच बोल रहे हैं तो ठीक है मैं फिल कर,लूंगा कोई प्रॉब्लम नहीं है माधवानी ने,कहा कि 1 मिनट रखिए और माधवानी साहब ने,वहीं से टकाटक फोन लगाया रोने वाला को और,कार्य भाई साहब कार्तिक ने हां कर दी है,और उनका 5 करोड़ का साइनिंग अमाउंट का चेक,भेज दीजिए और रोनी स्क्रूवाला ने कहा कि,कार्तिक को कहिए कि 15 मिनट में मेरा आदमी,वहां पहुंच जाएगा और बल्कि आप भी वही वेट,करें 6 पहुंच रहा है मां भवानी सा अपने,फोन कट किया और कार्तिक से कहा कि भाई,साहब 15 मिनट में आपका 5 करोड़ का चेक आ,रहा है तब तक आप माता जी से कहकर परांठे,बनवाइए पूरा के खाते हैं कार्तिक की माता,की प्रातः बहुत टेस्टी बनती है तो तब तक,कार्तिक की माताजी ने परांठे बनाए माधवानी,और कार्तिक ने खाए इतनी देर में रोनी,स्क्रूवाला का आदमी 5 करोड़ का चेक लेकर,पहुंच गया माधवानी साहब ने वह चेक कार्तिक,के हाथों में दिया कि यह लीजिए साहब आपका,5 करोड़ का साइनिंग अमाउंट कार्तिक को तो,भी यकीन नहीं आया था कार्तिक कभी भी ऐसा,गजरा तकया मजाक कर रहे हैं यह लोग कार्तिक,ने चेक उलट पलट कर देखा कि चेक तो ठीक है,थे डुप्लीकेट चैट तो नहीं दे रहे कि बच्चे,तो बिल्कुल सही कहा कार्तिक ने बोला कि,ठीक है मधुबनी साहब मिलते हैं अब कार्तिक,को पूरा यकीन था कि भाई यह चेक बाउंस हो,जाएगा यह पैसे कभी भी मेरे अकाउंट में आने,वाले हैं नहीं है फिर भी चांस लेने में,क्या हर्ज है तो दूसरे दिन कार्तिक ने को,चेक बैंक में डिपोजिट कर दिया और उसके,नजदीक कार्तिक को मैसेज आ गया कि 5 करोड़,रुपए आपके अकाउंट में डिपोजिट हो गए हैं,जब 5 करोड़ अकाउंट में आगे तो फिर कार्तिक,को यकीन हो चला कि भाई यह बात बिल्कुल सही,है यह ट्रिक बन रही है अब कार्तिक ने,मालवा नीस आपको फोन किया के भाई साहब मुझे,पैसे मिल गए हैं अब आगे का क्या प्रोसीजर,है मां भवानी साहब ने कहा कि सर एक हफ्ता,रुके एक हफ्ते के बाद मैं आपको फाइनल,स्क्रिप्ट देता हूं और 20 दिन के बाद,शूटिंग चालू करते हैं शूटिंग चालू हो गई,शॉपिंग के पांच दिन के बाद कार्तिक को फिर,₹5 मिल गए 10 15 दिन के बाद फिर 5 करोड़,रुपए मिल गए फिल्म की शूटिंग ख़त्म होते,होते हैं कार्तिक को 20 करोड़ रुपए मिल गए,तो कार्तिक को यह पूरा जतिन हो गया कि भाई,अब मैं 20 करोड़ रुपए का हीरो बन गया हूं,यानी एक तरह से रोनी स्क्रूवाला ने बाकी,प्रोड्यूसर्स की वाट लगा दी थी अब मैं,आपको याद दिलाना चाहता हूं न्यूज़ ऐसी आई,थी कि करन जोहर ने कार्तिक को दोस्ताना-2,से निकाल दिया न्यूज बेबी आई थी कि ऐसा के,निर्भिक आर्थिक को अपनी फिल्म से निकाल,दिया क्योंकि ऐसा करके और करण जौहर दोनों,दोस्त है बट हकीकत यह नहीं है इसलिए उस,वक्त मैं इस बारे में कुछ बोला ही नहीं था,ना मैंने कोई वीडियो बनाई थी और ना मैंने,मुनासिब समझा लेकिन मैं आज आपको बता दूं,कि फिल्म धमाका ही रीजन था जिसकी वजह से,दोस्ताना-2 बंद हुई और जिसकी वजह से,एसआरके की फिल्म बंद हुई अब आप यह कहेंगे,कि वह कैसे तो अगर मैं इस बारे में पूरी,बात बताऊंगा तो वीडियो बहुत लंबा हो जाएगा,लेकिन मैं आपको इतना बता सकता हूं कि,कार्तिक ने दोस्ताना-2 दो या ढाई करोड़,में साइन की थी और एसआरके की फिल्म भी दो,या ढाई करोड़ में ही साइन किए थे तो जाहिर,सी बात है जब एक हीरो को एक फिल्म के लिए,20 करोड़ को मिल रहा है तो फिर वह कोई भी,फील दो या ढाई करोड़ में क्यों करेगा तो,हकीकत यह है कि न करने कार्तिक को निकाला,था ना एसआरके ने कार्तिक को निकाला था,सारा झगड़ा था पैसों का और कार्तिक की फीस,का और अगर मैं एक तरह से कहूं तो रोनी,स्क्रूवाला जिम्मेदार है करण जौहर की,फिल्म बंद कराने के लिए और ऐसा के कि,फिल्म बंद कराने के लिए तो किस तरह से फिर,धमाका बनी और आने वाले फ्राइडे को रिलीज,होने वाली है फिल्म कितनी चलेगी या नहीं,चलेगी कार्तिक को इससे कतई कोई फर्क नहीं,पड़ता क्योंकि कार्तिक के पास आज बहुत,सारी फिल्में है और मैं यह आपको यह बता,दूं कि कार्तिक ने धमाका के बाद जितनी भी,फिल्म साइन की है वह साजिद नाडियाडवाला
