No Mans Sky Review 2022 – Worth Playing? (Next-Gen Minecraft)

no mans sky is now a six-year-old game, released in 2016 it had a very mixed, reception as it promised a lot but got, criticized for lackluster and repetitive, gameplay, since then though a huge amount of work, has been put into it with countless free, updates bringing improvements even very, recently,in this video well take a look at the, game and what is its best ever state to,see who its really for and whether its, worth playing and this video has been, sponsored by hex gaming find out more, later on,now first and foremost no mans sky is,an exploration game and a massive one at,that with over 18 quintillion, procedurally generated planets this game, may as well have an infinite game world, exploration is therefore a massive part,of the experience combined with survival, crafting and some combat so lets unpick, these and see how well it all fits in,together, when you first boot up the game youre, stuck on a nondescript planet where you, must fight against time to repair a ship, and escape a storm, when you first get into space the, feeling is one of oh my gosh this is big,but its only when you open up the star, map you realize the magnitude of how big,you could be surrounded by countless, planets that take maybe minutes to,travel between which is quite a long, time for a game but then you open the,map and realize that this is just one of,a few hundred star systems in that, region oh and there are 4.2 billion, regions, hopefully this gives you an idea of just, how big it is and a common comparison is,actually minecraft however dont think, its anything like that, each planet is completely different in,quite a lot more ways with everything, from the landscapes biomes and even, available resources being completely, unique and the developers have even gone,as far as to make their life forms, procedurally generated too so the life, youll encounter is also never the same, youre encouraged to explore these, worlds through what are called light, story elements and the natural will to,progress which i think this game handles, very well, all of the main elements you interact, with as a player can be upgraded which, includes all your ships land vehicles, tools weapons and your exosuit which is,like your character upgrades, all of these things can be improved in,terms of their efficiency and, functionality which youll benefit from, more and more as you progress through, the game, another part of the game essential to,the no mans sky experience is the, crafting building and fabricating, systems when you first start the game, youre managed with some very basic wall, floor and ceiling panels but as you, progress youre going to want more and,the game really caters to that, everything from energy generation and, storage to more complex building, elements allows for extensive base, building and construction which is,actually in depth enough for there to be,a creative mode,in the non-creative modes though this is,all built upon the very basic crafting, from raw materials which is a pretty, standard system of finding x and y to,make z and then using that to make, something else, when you first start out these raw, materials and basic items will be in,short supply so youll need to spend a,lot of your time looking for them but as,you keep playing youll effectively, unlock new items by discovering the, materials needed to craft them which is,a really nice and natural way to give, you a sense of progression,as for the light story elements its a,bit of an interesting one now by,absolutely no means is no mans sky, story game and you need to consider that, before deciding if its for you, instead there is a selection of mission, routes that you can take such as the, artemis missions where youll, investigate and try to locate a stranded, traveler, there are a few of these as lets say, pathways that you can choose to follow, however they are 100 optional so you can,dip in and out when you choose or even, just avoid them completely, they can be really quite engaging, despite their simplicity and fy theres,no actual voice acting in this game as,everything appears as text on screen, although it does work better than you, think to be honest,no mans sky also has a go at combat i,say has a go because its not a very, developed system and id say its there, more for a function than anything else, the day after i scripted that sentence, though a combat update just happened to,launch and i can say that it brings very, significant improvement, for context some planets have hostile, sentinel force inhabitants and this is,where youll find most of your ground, combat, there are quite a few different enemy, types now and theres a bit of stealth, thrown in there too as you can evade, them by getting undetected when in,combat you can definitely tell that its,not what the game was built for but this,in turn means that the impact on your, experience is pretty minimal the combat, still adds to the survival aspect, overall especially when youre newer to,the game with less capable equipment my,highlight for the combat though is how, after aggravating sentinel forces on a,planet the scrap will continue up into, space when you leave because yes there,is space combat,in a very star wars like x-wing fashion, you have a laser cannon and missiles at,your disposal to deal with incoming, threats, when being chased by sentinel your, hyperdrive also gets disabled so you, cant just fly away which can lead to,some pretty intense encounters,in a true gta style there is also an,iteration of the wanted level system, which allows the combat difficulty to,progress, now before we get into the rest of this, review this video has been sponsored by,hex gaming and their ultimate controller, for ps5 they sent me one to try out and,ive really enjoyed using it,the highlight feature is of course the, selection of red buttons that you get,the ultimate controller has four of,these which can easily be mapped to any,of the normal buttons on the controller,no software required, the controller is also fully, customizable pretty much every component, has a large selection of colours and, finishes so you can make it look however, you want, the controller also comes with multiple, thumbsticks so you can change the height, and shape of them on the fly the final, standout feature is that this controller,is actually built from an original sony, dual sense therefore you still get the, adaptive triggers haptic feedback and, touchpad which are all needed to fully, experience first party games,it could also still be used wirelessly, and ive found the battery life to be,just as good as the standard controller, despite the extra buttons,so if you like the sound of this please, follow the link in the description to,get five percent off your order using, code average but back to no mans sky,now before we take a look at who this, game is actually for the progression is,definitely worth more of a mention as,its handled very well,no mans sky becomes a few experiences,in one because as you rack up your hours, your goals and priorities will change, which in turn puts a much greater focus,on different parts of the game, when you first begin the survival, element will be the most prominent as,you focus on collecting the materials, needed for your life support as well as,fuel for your ship,as you keep playing though it becomes, viable to instead buy much of these, needed materials and instead focus on,other things such as acquiring new ships,or freighters which are star,destroyer-esque ships which you can dock, your smaller ones in and also uses a hub,for space battles, your freighter can be customized and, upgraded and you can even make it orbit, the planet youre on,things like this help facilitate the, progression in a way that means theres, always something to work up to despite, there being no explicit aim of the game,as such,so now who is this game really for, because i can say with confidence that, its not for everyone,as i mentioned no mans sky has no,consistent aim or goal to work towards, and due to the constant reliance on the,raw materials there is something to be,said for a repetit

Should You Buy No Mans Sky In 2022? (Review)

should you buy no mans sky in 2022,no mans sky as many of you will know, launched in a tragic state causing, consumers to be mad that the product, that was advertised was not the product, they got and caused immense stress on,the developers due to the rightful, backlash i think its safe to assume the, developers knew the game wasnt ready, but after being invested in by sony they, really did not have much of a choice, they were left with two options abandon, the game and take the money and run or,stand their ground to do their best to,fix and add to a game that was supposed,to be groundbreaking well they chose the, second option but the question is did, they manage to achieve that goal this is,my no mans sky review,[Music],i went in pretty blind when i started no,mans sky i knew there were updates that, were received well but i didnt know how, good they really were and man i could, make a two hour video on this game but,for the sake of your time ill do my,best to sum up my thoughts lets start, with the story with no spoilers story is,not particularly important in them and,sky but since launch there have been, some major changes from what ive now, researched the entire opening has been, completely remade to offer cleaner, tutorials and improve its ability to,introduce you to the infinite universe,as that is no mans sky the story itself,is told through dialogue but it isnt, voice acted at least the parts that ive, played there are alien life forms that, you meet that do have some dialogue but,it sounds alien it kind of sounds like, this,so if you want some massively crafted, story that has complete voice acting, throughout no mans sky isnt offering, that but the story itself if you read, the dialogue offers a simple and easy to,follow story which is perfect for this, kind of game its like minecraft but you, have some story incentive to keep, pushing forward to find out what is,really going on and i really appreciate, this addition as its very easy to get, lost and without that little story, element you would be lost to the, galaxies you can explore that being said, you can absolutely do that if you want,to youll have to complete the early, story section so you can learn how to,get to those galaxies and planets as,well as the various materials blueprints, weapons and ship upgrades as well as exo, upgrades etc there is a lot to talk, about but after that youre free to,explore although i did personally follow, the story which i havent completed yet, because i just got invested into, exploring planets and taking in whats, been made here anyway the story itself, isnt that important but i like what, theyve done with it so lets get to the, meat the gameplay,[Music],the amount of improvements made to no,mans sky is exponential it is shocking, how much hello games has added or,improved i i cant put into words the, amount of dedication and effort that had,to be put into post-launch to make this, stuff work it may not be the game we,were promised back in 2016 but id argue, its even better at this point let me,tell you why if youre enjoying this, video smash that like button maybe, consider subscribing it would help out a,ton hello games added a fully fledged, crafting system and you can craft, anywhere every planet you visit you can, create a base with various materials and, blueprints which means you can create, teleporters storage ramps entire bases, with landing pads etc there is too much, for me to say and i dont want to spoil, any of it but when i first got access to,it i thought, crafting is cool but its a little, limited and then five hours later, because i spent way too much time, exploring you get to the hub of the game, where loads of players are and the, crafting just blows up in your face you,can customize so many things and you do,have to unlock them so there is a reason,to explore to craft the materials so you,can go on those dangerous journeys with,an incentive in order to create the best, base you can you can also customize your, character different races of aliens, colors etc and so far i havent seen a,single micro transaction and we cant, stop there you can upgrade your exosuit,so you can use your jetpack for longer,or survive in hazardous areas for longer, among many other things that i will not, spoil you can change your different, tools so if youre less into shooting, laser beams at enemies you can craft new,multi-tools and turn them into weapons, like space guns and its just awesome, you can also get upgrades for your ship,so its quicker or you can walk to,different places quicker and more, effectively which is just its so cool, man its just its just cool this to me,would be the perfect star wars game if,only you could be a jedi and thats a,good segue to mention some of the, activities you can do like bounty, hunting you can do bounty hunter, missions man this is a dream youre a,space bounty hunter its so cool sure, some of the earlier missions are a bit, easy but they do get harder as time goes,on i do want to make it clear ive only, put in about 20 to 25 hours into no,mans sky and i already feel like ive, been blown away now theres a few little, nitpicks that i caught for the first few, hours you arent really gonna fight, anything youll be learning how to,survive and if you are kind of that kind,of gamer that wants to have non-stop,action this probably isnt going to be,for you most of the time no mans skys, pacing at the start is slow because, there is a lot to get used to but once, you get through that the pacing of no,mans sky is kind of up to you you, decide what you want to do and this is,exactly what i want from this kind of,game you decide what the pacing is you, want to constantly get into fights and, stuff like that which means you can go,bounty hunting or do you want to just, explore and mind your own business and, create stuff its its its its just, perfect for me its the perfect kind of,loop which you get to decide theres no,linear point really after the first, opening couple hours you do what you, want to do the only other criticism i,have is sometimes the crafting, instructions werent clear at the start, once you get used to it its piss easy,to learn but at the start youll spend a,good chunk of time trying to figure out,all the different materials etc much, like minecraft actually speed is the, skill factor here so if youre good at,minecraft which im not by the way you, will pick this up fairly easily its,its pretty much its very similar with, the different ways you can craft things, but um ill ill let you experience it,in the hub area you can access the nexus, which is your multiplayer missions that, you can do with other players or your, friends and its just its cool it sends, you to universes that you may have not, explored yet so you can explore them as,well as earn some credits or nanites so,you can upgrade things while doing these, missions which is very good for an,incentive once again, also i think they just added these, pirate raids so you can explore a planet, and a bunch of pirates come flying down, shooting at everything they see causing, you to run back to your ship hopping in,and going into space and just getting, into a dogfight and this is what i want, ive always wanted to just launch into, space being chased by space pirates and, taking them on and flying off in victory, its so,cool, thats the word of this review cool,[Music],there is still so much i havent talked, about but you guys ive got to go in,with the minimum amount of spoilers and, just get lost in the world of no mans, sky i had to look up some of the, trailers before writing this review and,im just shocked because there is so,much i havent experienced yet and i,havent built yet or upgraded yet and,im just sold guys i played on game pass, but i do think im gonna go buy on steam, just to support these guys and so i,think you guys without a doubt should, buy no mans sky and support these, developers because the amount of effort, theyve put in is just beyond, beyond comprehension for me and its, inspiring in a lot of ways because they, could have very easily given up on no,mans sky and

No Mans Sky is Unrecognizable in 2022

something thats really interesting and, rather unique about no mans sky is that, its one of the very few titles that, consistently gets brought up whenever a,new game comes out and has a rough, launch for whatever reason whether its, like lack of content or bugs or poor, performance whatever really whenever, that happens to a new title youll often, hear people say hey maybe they can pull, off a No Mans sky and when they say, that theyre referring to the fact that, despite having a rough launch at scalf,uh no mans sky has managed to turn, things around since it released in 2016,they have had over six years of regular, updates adding new content systems and, features all for free and were talking, like expansion levels worth of content, over 20 named updates with a ton of,changes and additions at no extra cost,to the point where today a lot of people, genuinely consider this a great game, like no mans sky in 2022 is in a much, better spot and delivers a much better, experience than it did when it first, released at the same time though there,is a lot to parse whether you are a,brand new player or you used to play and, youre looking to jump back in theres a,lot going on with no mans sky and its, actually for that reason that Ive,partnered today with Hello Games they, are sponsoring this video as Ill be,putting together basically like an,introduction to ease people into the, game and help them figure out if its, something that theyre interested in,checking out Im basically going to be,telling you about no mans Sky,everything theyve added over time and,let you decide if you would be,interested in trying it for yourself so,yes if youve ever considered jumping, back into the game but arent sure if,its worth it or what to do or where to,start hopefully this video will help you,out and yeah lets just uh dive right, into it so at its core if you arent, aware no mans sky is really a survival, crafting game youll be spending much of,your time exploring and Gathering, resources which you use to fuel craft, and upgrade your gear your vehicles and,of course your spaceships all of that on,the backdrop of you are out in space, exploring visiting planets jumping, between systems encountering and dealing, with various alien life forms as well as,space pirates and of course also, following a story now when you begin, your very first playthrough you do spawn,in on a random Planet somewhere out in,the universe and you have broken, equipment and a crashed nearby ship and, then the game guides you towards seeking, out the resources necessary to repair, your ship and to build up the basic, tools needed to begin your journey the, start is all pretty straightforward as,the games revamped tutorial kind of,walks you through every step and then, after repairing your ship youre able to,take off leaving the planet and setting, out into space for the first time from, there the game guides you through some, more of the basics you get an,introduction to Base building to space, stations and then you are given the, items needed to repair your hyperdrive, which enables warp speed jumps between, neighboring systems and its here after,a few more steps uh in the main quest, line where the game really opens up but,its also where people kind of start to,feel lost as mentioned earlier after all,of these years and all this time things, have changed quite a bit and so now what,I want to do is take you through some of,the highlights of every major no mans,Sky update touching on what it brought,to the game because it is really this, variation that has added so much depth, and and this will give you an idea of,whats in the game and then if you think, any of its cool maybe thats just what, you go towards thats what you work on,Im just doing basically so the very, first update was foundation and this, introduced Base building to the game, letting you claim your very own base, that was abandoned on any planet and you,had the ability to expand and customize, these they also added a farming system, where you could grow and harvest crops, they introduced Freighters which are, these bases of operation out in space, theyre not only massive spaceship ships, that access like extra storage and other, means of travel but they also allow you,to send out followers on on various, missions for rewards and they introduced, two additional game modes creative mode,if youre looking for no challenge just,to explore and build in survival mode if,you want more of a challenge with more, hazards a smaller inventory and, increased costs the second update,Pathfinder brought a total visual, overhaul textures lighting,post-processing other effects this was, actually the first of many visual passes, the game would get they also added ship, specializations and classes so theres, different types of ships that are, stronger and weaker at all sorts of,things there are new vehicles called, exocraft these provide extra storage and, then a better means of traveling while,on a planet they also added multi-tool,specialization and classes as well as,various modes and they introduced, permadeath mode which is kind of like, survival but you only have one life the, atlas Rises update introduced an entire, new storyline its actually about 30,hours worth of story content they added, additional worlds and increased the, variety of planetary biomes and added, exotic planets as you get closer to the, galactic core we also introduced crashed,Freighters this is just kind of another, thing that you can see on planets youll, find these all over the place they can,be scavenged for resources and they, added a mission system these are, basically your side quests they have, tasks for you to complete for rewards, and standing then there was no mans Sky,next this is a huge one where they added, full on multiplayer yes no mans sky has, actual real multiplayer you can do just, about everything with your friends they, also introduce weekly community events, they opened up the ability to build a,base anywhere on any planet and they, also had a third person mode for both, foot and ship with that they also, introduced apparent customization this,is huge for me as its actually the, primary way I play the game I like third, person way more than first person there, was the abyss update which is focused on,underwater stuff add a new aquatic, environments and variety Visions add a,new planetary biomes creatures planetary, diversity as well as an archeology, system another activity for you to do to,Beyond improved and expanded upon the, multiplayer they let you play with more, people added ambient multiplayer so you, could randomly encounter other real, players while exploring they also, transformed the space anomaly into a,brand new Social Hub so its got like,Quest and research and stuff there but,its also like youll see just see a ton,of other people whenever you visit the, space anomaly and there were many many, more updates uh synthesis was uh focused,on Starship upgrades and a bunch of,quality of life stuff they added living, ships these like biological ships to the, game there was the exomec update which, added fully controllable Mech Walkers, desolation this is like the Dead Space, update where they introduced haunted, derelict Freighters these would be,floating adrift in space and you can go,and just explore them for rewards the, origins update brought a big expansion,to the games Universe with a ton more, variety there was the companions update, which is a pet system Expeditions which,is a brand new game mode offering a,unique set of challenges prisms was a,big visual overhaul updates Frontiers, added alien settlements to discover and, commandeer the Sentinel update, overhauled the games main enemy faction, the Sentinels with new types and there, was Outlaws this is a piracy Focus, update which introduced Outlaw systems, the ability to recruit a squadron as,well as capes they added capes for you,to wear I like capes then endurance, update focused on improvements in,addition to the freighter system and, finally the Waypoint update overhauled, many of the fundamental elements of,gameplay i

How No Mans Sky DID THE IMPOSSIBLE

(logo trills),- [Jake] “No Mans Sky,” yes, lets talk about it.,This game has truly done the impossible, and serves as the poster child for games, that are initially poorly received,,that overcome the odds and rise from the ashes,as a product that does right by its original customers, and just becomes a damn good game, that lives on for years to come.,”No Mans Sky” is a blueprint for a game, eventually becoming great.,It is not a perfect road.,It is not a clean exit or a perfect landing,or anything like that, but it is interesting.,So lets talk about how they did it.,First of course, a quick recap, addressing the elephant in the room,,and that is “No Mans Skys” disappointing launch.,The game was teased with an announcement,by developers Hello Games in 2013,,and instantly people were hooked.,People wanted to believe in this new age,,procedurally generated, space exploration game,,where you could go anywhere and do anything, and be your own space adventure person, with your own cool ship.,Endless possibilities.,New fans were excited for the idea of “Skyrim” in space,,and old school, PC gaming, space faring fans,,were curious to see how a new age version,of that procedurally generated space exploration thing, would go.,And with the game being delayed, and being pushed quite a while,,it left even more time for peoples imaginations to wander.,The technology behind it seemed cool, and all those big ideas really just got a hype train, huge,,and it left the station.,It was all over the video game fan world, but it even broke into the mainstream too,,with it being featured on a late night talk show.,All just because it seemed, in theory, so cool.,Well, “No Mans Sky” officially released August, 2016,,and me, personally, I was lukewarm on it.,I thought it was kind of repetitive, unfinished,,and was kind of unsatisfying.,Still, some of the systems worked well, and it had a lot of potential.,And some of the presentation, and creative and graphical stuff was kind of there.,My biggest problem was that the game, felt like it had no life, and felt ultimately kind of meaningless.,This is where the problem lies.,From the trailer and everything people had seen of the game,,people put a lot of high expectations towards it,,like we said, and it was really the game itself,,its marketing, its hype, I dont know,,but writing a bunch of checks, that the actual game they developed could not cash.,The whole endless exploration concept just felt really dull, and did not generate any of that wonder.,Aliens were basically non-existent.,Encountering other players wasnt really a thing.,And the loot and the ship stuff was super basic, and limiting.,All in all, it felt like it wasnt worth, the full game price at $60 in the United States.,It was kind of cool but it felt unfinished, and nowhere near as cool as it could have been.,The art style was there.,The music was there.,The vibe was there.,And some of the foundation was there,,but it needed way more, clearly.,People justifiably felt ripped off.,Reactions were extremely angry, as the internet goes,,you know the drill.,”No Mans Sky” was a weird launch with straight up bad PR,that was nestled in a blanket of huge sales numbers.,Best selling release on the PlayStation Store, the month of launch.,The Steam version very quickly seemed to hit,a million players.,A lot of people bought it,,but a lot of people werent super happy with it.,Heres where things get interesting though.,Hello Games didnt just like take the money and run,,at least, you know, seemingly to most of us,,developers or corporations dont always stick around,to provide customer support,or fix things that you purchased.,And thats what makes “No Mans Sky”,whole story interesting, its that they didnt abandon it.,While some people will forever consider, these developers liars or con artists.,Okay, sure.,But they slowly through a long period of time,,took all that money and dumped it,right into more development, flushing out the game,,and ultimately satisfying way more people.,Now games, especially a traditional release like this,,just should not ever release like this.,You cannot offer a product, and then just figure it out later.,But at the very least, Hello Games did the right thing here.,If you spent $60 and didnt ask for a refund, and just held onto the game, whether you were burned or not,,by now if you pop that thing back in or re-download it,,you got a game that is well worth the price.,Its a really long road.,It took a long road to get there.,And one where the developers would often go silent, for months on end only to pop up,with a cool new feature or two.,Lets break it down.,So first it started with “Foundation.”,This was the first content the game received.,There was two more game modes, creative and survival.,It made base building a thing.,You could have a home planet, and claim abandoned bases and then build off of them.,You had the ability to purchase freighters,,which you could summon anywhere in the galaxy,,even though that was kind of early.,And it just had new resources and new technology, and farming.,Then there was the Pathfinder update,,which is where the game started to get updated visually.,You could also share your bases online, for other players to discover.,You could own multiple ships, and store them in your freighter.,There was also a new class of ships,,new vehicles that could be used on the surface of planets,,new merchants and currency, more life,,more base building options, quality of life stuff,,and multi-tool classes and specialization and weapon modes.,Then with one of the big ones, “Atlas Rises,”,they added on actual like real narrative, that worked way more like a traditional quest.,There was 30 hours or so of content.,There was new worlds, more stuff you could find, a new AI,,the in-game economy was expanded, more visual improvements,,terrain manipulation, and an improvement of space combat.,You could actually fly low and cruise above the terrain.,This all really led to “No Mans Sky Next.”,This is the real first big boy.,This is 1.5.,This had actual, real multiplayer, where you could play with your friends, and actually see them.,It had weekly content and community events,,a third person camera, a whole third person view mode,,more customization, way bigger base building.,The freighter mechanics were bigger.,Crafting was overhauled.,The UI was overhauled.,The graphics were beefed up once again,,and more marketplaces were added.,Now smaller updates, like “Abyss” and “Visions,”,added small gameplay stuff,,but it wasnt really until “Beyond”,where stuff got big again.,”Beyond” was like 2.0, this gave you VR support,,multiplayer was expanded,,allowing for even more players to gather together.,Ambient multiplayer became a thing.,Early game stuff, like onboarding was way more streamlined, and just more interesting.,There were more hubs, more exploration opportunities,,more quests.,Combat was improved overall, more enemies,,just more interesting stuff to combat with,,more settings for PC graphics, more base building.,It was crazy.,Then after that, we were back to smaller updates,,like “Synthesis,” “Living Ship,” “Exo Mech,”,”Crossplay,” “Desolation,” that was the spooky alien one.,And then we got “Origins 3.0,”,with more planets, different plant life,,more diverse planets, more teleporters,,updated graphics and biomes, weather effects,,like volcanoes and firestorms, giant enemies, wild robots,,NPCs that you could encounter out in the wild.,Then there was the “Next Gen” update, “Companions,”,and “Expeditions,” which gave expedition mode,,where you were able to start with other players on a planet, and you go on missions together and work as a community,to unlock rewards.,Then there was “Prisms,” which was graphical stuff,,”Frontiers,” more base building, a “Sentinel” update,,and the newest one “Outlaws,” with space capes.,Im serious.,Outlaw space stations, smuggling,,improved space combat, in atmosphere starship combat,,interstellar piracy, pirate missions,,and just even more to do.,

No Mans Sky (Switch) Review and Tech Analysis

[Music],foreign,I purchased a PlayStation 4 to play No,Mans Sky I bought the special edition,of the game at launch while the rest of,the gaming public argued whether Sony, had pushed out the game before it was, ready and debated whether an indie, developer speaking passionately about, his hopes for his game should be taken,as promises I was simply devouring no,mans sky was I hopeful that all of,Hello Games Ambitions for the game would, eventually come to pass of course but I,loved that launch day version,as update after update hit it became, clear that no mans Sky would not only, meet the goals set out in those Infamous,pre-launch interviews it would exceed, them I bought a second copy on Xbox when,it left PlayStation exclusivity two, years after launch and wound up picking,it up on PC as well since launch no,mans sky has been one of my most, constantly played games and one of my,favorite games of all time now six years, later I bought it again on Nintendo, switch,[Music],as I loaded up a new game and found, myself once again on one of many, trillions of planets in this universe I,couldnt help but fall in love with no,mans Sky yet again after Awakening near,a crashed ship on the surface of a,random Planet youll need to repair your, ship by gathering resources from your, surroundings plants can be broken down, into carbon rocks into ferrite dust your, goals are laid out Simply one at a time, slowly teaching you exactly how to,synthesize parts for your ship and to,charge your own life support systems no,mans Sky opens up more slowly than many, other games of this kind as a result it,is less intimidating than this type of,game often is yes there are a myriad of,resources to gather which can be refined, into more complex resources crafted into, tools and parts were even used to,construct buildings but youll start, with carbon and ferrite dust so slowly, building your understanding by the time, you do leave this starting planet and, venture out into the Stars youll have a,pretty good handle on how to survive, which shifts the focus from keeping your, bars full and more towards wondering, whats on the next planet,no mans sky is often called a survival, game and put into the same category as,Ark survival evolved subnautica or even,Minecraft but Ive long felt that no,mans sky is an exploration game, reviewing no mans sky as a game becomes, much more difficult Beyond this point, you can continue following the main, story but you by no means have to you,can take on ever-changing community, missions to earn cool rewards you could, find a nice planet and just settle down, build a base you could set out to learn, the languages of various alien species, one word at a time you could, meticulously catalog the Flora and Fauna,of planets and name all of them after, yourself obviously you could start an,off-the-grid solar-powered Farm you, could become a space pirate looting to,earn money you could buy yourself a,giant capital ship and slowly build out,a fleet of ships to send on missions,Across the Universe,as I said there is a story there if you, need that Focus for your experience but,no mans sky is at its best when youre, setting your own goals and just, exploring in fact if the survival, aspects truly hold no value to you, creative mode allows you to explore and, build with absolutely no limits, inversely a variety of tougher modes are, also available for those who want to,heighten the survival elements from a,Pure Performance standpoint the switch, version is better than Id have ever, expected while lacking in a couple, specific areas, while playing dot no mans Sky runs at,1280 by 720 given that the base Xbox one, runs the game at 900p the switch hitting,720p is on the high end of my,expectations meanwhile handheld mode, drops the resolution to 853 by 480.,image quality holds up well in both, configurations thanks to an effective, but somewhat restrained temporal,anti-aliasing solution to clean up edges, youll still notice some pixel crawl, along harsher edges but temporal, artifacts are essentially non-existent,the one element that does break up the, image quality are some low resolution,Alpha effects when they overlap with the, edge of an object they can give the, impression that the resolution is,significantly lower than it actually is,its something anyone familiar with the,Xenoblade or breath of the wild engines, may have noticed before but its, particularly aggressive here in select, situations a variety of other, adjustments have been made including, pulling back draw distance on foliage, and their removal of screen space,Reflections impressively volumetric, clouds are still in place around planets, and terrain is drawn pretty far into the, distance all of this in service of a 30,frames per second frame rate target that, has met the vast majority of the time in,a highly variable game like this some, frame rate issues are just sort of a,given but in my testing they rarely, became invasive most commonly Id notice,a short hitch as a new ship warped into, the system or a particularly complex, piece of geometry came into view all, that being said the switch version, nearly delivers on the complete, experience unfortunately direct, multiplayer is not currently available, which is disappointing Community, missions are still available but youll, have to take them on solo no mans sky,is a fantastic single player experience, but multiplayer has added a lot to the, experience since it was introduced and,its disappointing to see it missing on,switch the only other apparent cut is,the removal of large settlements from, plan planets theyre not crucial to the, experience by any means and with the, size of this game many players may not, encounter one anyway but they were a fun, addition likely for similar reasons Base, building limits complexity by default on,switch though this can be turned off, from the options menu after a warning, that it may affect your experience no,mans Sky makes the jump to switch, mostly unscathed in terms of performance,it greatly exceeds my expectations but,at the cost of a couple features, settlements are ultimately a minor loss, but multiplayer will be significant for, many players Hello Games hasnt ruled, out adding it in the future but its, worth being aware of if youre planning,to pick this up on switch beneath these, couple of complaints is an incredible, game that out does anything else in its, genre its one of those games that you,can just sort of play indefinitely this,is largely thanks to the fact that, youre free to play it however you want, and it has the variety of systems to,facilitate that one player may find, themselves having a vastly different, experience from another or even being, entirely unaware of mechanics that, theyve never chosen to engage with, while the switch version isnt without, its flaws the core experience is,excellently translated and if Ive,learned anything from Hello Games over, the last six years Im hopeful that this, version will only get better with time,[Music],this video was made possible by our, generous supporters on patreon did you, know that Nintendo World Report is,funded directly by fans like you when, you support Nintendo World Report No Mans Sky Review // Is It Worth It in 2022?!

around two years ago i reviewed no mans, sky and called it a good game but very, boring in what it was doing and i hoped, that game would change in the right, direction at least the direction that, thought that was right and two years, later i can simply say that game did not,go in that direction but boy,the game has changed and the developers, are commendable for the things that they, are doing with this game and in this, video were going to be reviewing no,mans sky and discussing whether it is,worthy to buy, right now more than six years after its, release or just whether you should, ignore it as a failed game so without, further ado lets just get it started, and as always with every single one of,our videos im going to be giving you,the answer right away whether no mans, sky is actually worth it or not and the, answer is yes no mans sky is absolutely, the game that you should experience if,you havent experienced it no matter, what you think about that and if you, have played this game only during the, launch or even the first few years after, the launch you should get back to this, game but again this game is still not, perfect at least well not for me lets, discuss all the great things about this, game and some of the bad things as well,so lets get started and if you want, more reviews like this one for the older, games or newer games dont forget to hit,the subscribe button the channel is,growing good and immense straight and i,cannot thank you enough for this and, here is for maintaining this growth and, hopefully reaching a new heights, together well now back to no mans sky,for the ones who doesnt know what is no,mans sky so genres gender wise no mans, sky is space survival sandbox crafting, exploration game its rather the mix a,lot of different genres and its very, difficult to put in one specific genre, youre playing as a traveler youre, playing in this giant procedurally, generated universe consisting of well, seemingly infinite number of planets and, star systems there is no point telling, you there are 18 quintillion or,septillion planets or things like that, because yeah for all practical purposes, the universe is basically infinite and,you spawn on this random planet having,no idea who or what you are where you,are and you should well discover what is,happening around you story-wise there is,nothing exceptionally amazing about this, game there is a story but you can simply, just ignore it completely and you will, not be losing you actually need to,progress the story a little bit to,unlock some very important information, and important places like anomaly, station yeah but yeah if youll just, ignore it youre not gonna lose a lot of,pits and the game can actually be,divided into few different well genres,or stages when you start the game game,is basically purely a survival game you, will need to repair your ship you will, need to find the resources and you will, need to basically survive because you, dont have a lot of things and you, cannot do a lot of things you cannot, even effectively mine the large amount,of resources which makes the game a bit, well grindy at first but this part is a,survival part and it actually makes you, familiar with the game this part, continues around few hours like maybe, five or six hours at max until youll go,through the story enough and unlock more, recipes that will give you well ability,to all survive better without even, thinking about dying just to the bad, storm and bad weather and after this the, game is actually opening up and here, where you have a choice to do a bunch of,things the game is not giving you any, specific choice to do the things but, here is where the game is becoming true, sandbox here from from here on you can, continue and being just explorer and, just explore by a bunch of different, planets for the resources or just for,the life forms because yes planets and, both living forms are and living life, forms are fully procedurally generated, and you can actually make pretty good, amount of money just by discovering the, different species and different, creatures which is a great thing to have, you can just continue playing as a,regular rpg with the different missions, and you can just get missions from, different space stations and anomalies, and usually those missions are nothing, well exceptional its just a fetch quest,go and deliver this thing here go and, take this thing from here and deliver it,there go and kill this amount of enemies,go and find this amount of creatures, scan this amount of creatures and things, like that its nothing exceptional but, enough to keep you busy you can also, invest yourself into building a basis, and even entire settlements which was,not available during my previous review, and which is pretty pretty cool thing to,have you also can invest it to your, freighter and will have a giant mobile, base you can become sort of bounty, hunter as well and with an outlaws, update you can actually recruit a,wingman which is a breath of fresh air,for the game because yeah now we can, have a combat not alone and basically, you can have your own kind of crew doing, the different well interesting things in,the galaxy plus the pirate race and just, pirates adding the additional flair to,the game giving you a bunch of things to,do and im gonna give the credit where, credit is due with all of those things, including a bunch of different, additional transport vehicles like, meccas uh ability ability to tame the, different creatures and even breed them, grow them and even ride them with the, settlements and bunch of bunch of other, things you have a lot a lot a lot of,things to do for at least 50 hours of,the game but the game is actually, littered with one very big issue that i,still did not find a solution for which,is pretty easy to actually solve for the, developers and it is the resource, grinding game you see,no matter what level you are and no,matter how advanced you are you have to,mine your resources manually or just go,and buy it from well stores and if you, dont want to buy it and if you want to,have your own resources you need to go,from planets to planet and just mine, them, manually im not talking about some, specific like very rare resources like,plant-based resources like plant-based,resources because those resources can, actually be grown on your bases and even,on your freighter but im talking the, very basic resources like ferrite and, cobalt and very very basic resources you, still need to go from planet to planet,to gather them granted you can gather, the huge amounts of them all at once but,you will still need a lot of them and, this mainly goes to the survival, resources there is used to take off from, the planets like sodium that is used, from the environmental protection the, oxygen and things like that so you need,to gather those things constantly even,at the later stages of the game and this, just breaks my immersion and this makes, this game,a bit more tedious than it should have, the solution that hello games can, implement is just creation of the mining, settlement imagine your base is not just, being a vanity places where you can just, enjoy what the amazing things that you, build imagine that your bases are fully, functioning mining settlement imagine, that you built a fully outfitted outpost, and ships are flying from this outpost,to mine the resources available on this, planet and this will force you to build,a different bases on the different, planets because different planets have, different resources and imagine, incorporating your freighter and your, frigates fully that you can build with, the freighter just building just, bringing those resources to your, freighter and just collecting them in,your one giant mobile space base that, would have been just great but right now,its quite tedious and that is actually, the biggest turn off for me because when, youre finished with an exploration and,you will be done with an exploration in,a few dozen hours because yeah despite, hello games increasing the planet, variety by a lot it is still not, infinite and it cannot be possibly, infi

No Mans Sky Nintendo Switch Review – Is It Worth It?

hello there lovely people italics from,Nintendo life here and today it is,finally time for us to review for you no,mans sky on the Nintendo switch thats,a weird sentence this review was, originally written by the superb PJ,OReilly and has been adapted for video,by me but anyway thats more than enough, waffling lets Dive Right into things,[Music],oh,[Music],[Applause],[Music],its been a long Old Road for Hello,Games is no mans Sky first revealed, that the vgx awards all the way back in,2013 this procedurally generated, infinite space simulator finally, released riding an enormous wave of hype,in August of 2016. however the PS4 and,PC game we got our sweaty parmesan was a,far cry from what had been advertised, and promised during a build up to launch, that could have made Peter molyneux, blush yes no mans sky was not the,all-encompassing Wonder wed been led to,believe it would be it had the, procedurally generated planets the,quote-unquote infinite Universe in which,to play but there was a real paucity of,things to actually do in the months, following its initial launch it had some, serious technical issues as well it,didnt run well on consoles at the time, procedurally generated aliens and, environments were a bit Duff and as a,result the fury of what seemed to be the, entire internet was laser focused on,Sean Murray and the small team at hello, games,he got nasty fast forward to 2022 though, and theres probably never been a bigger,or better comeback story in the history,of gaming the No Mans Sky of today is,Testament to an indie Studio that point, blank refused to give up that took all,the blows admitted his mistakes put its, head down cut Communications and, concentrated on delivering and it really, did deliver It ultimately delivered on,every promise that had been made,pre-release and it continued and still, continues to deliver much much more even,on top of that what weve got now is a,wondrous space exploration experience, that lives up to the crazy pre-release,hype so excuse us if weve been getting, pretty psyched about this one finally, arriving on switch over the course of,six years numerous big updates have, improved every aspect of whats on offer, here that dodgy procedural generation, has been transformed tweaked and, enhanced to ensure that the level of,variety in planets whether local life, forms in Fauna make for genuinely, compelling exploration experience it now, feels as though youre traveling in a,universe thats stuffed full of,possibilities with regards to what, youre confront when you set your ship, down on a planet whether atmospheric, hazards volatile plant and animal life,jaw-dropping Vistas and twisted alien, environments you just never know what, youre in for when you open your ships, cockpit and planets are now Laden with, gear and long lost artifacts for you to,discover and sell as you work to upgrade, every aspect of yourself and your trusty, spaceship the boring old gameplay Loops,of old are now a very distant memory, indeed the opening tutorial section has, been bolstered and improved and now, provides a genuinely useful introduction,to the games core systems whilst also, keeping you invested through some neat, storytelling youve got Base building a,revamped economy system character, customization space combat farming alien, settlements procedurally generated, missions underwater exploration ground,Vehicles portals the list really is long, and all-encompassing in short no mans, sky has become the game where youll, hoped it would be back in 2016 but one, lingering question remains can Hello,Games take all of this and jam it onto, the Nintendo switch in a playable State, well we didnt dare believe it but as it,turns out theyve only gone and Bloom, and done it there may be visual, sacrifices par for the course on switch,by now and yes it takes a little longer,to load into initially multiplayer has,yet to make the jump as well and thats, not an aspect of the game were gonna, hold our breath on getting in the end,but these slight grievances aside this,is a No Mans skyport that serves up an,absolutely Rock Solid experience an,eminently playable version of a game, that you could potentially sink hundreds,of hours into enjoying even in the areas,we might have expected and even accepted, some frame rate drops here and there, such as launching off from planets or,cranking our ship to warp speed to,Junior Birdman the heck out of there the, game holds an almost perfect 30 frames a,second its remarkable really and it,makes for a switch conversion that for,us its right up there with the likes of,The Witcher 3 Alien isolation and doom,as one of the very best ports weve seen,on the console thus far something that, shouldnt work but just absolutely does,of course its not all perfect as weve, mentioned already theres a blurriness,to the visuals in handheld mode and pop,in is much more noticeable as you bound, around Planet surfaces however the, graphical style of No Mans sky that, bold colorful chunky aesthetic means, that none of this really matters as much,as it could do with another game thats, like blurriness never holds you back, everything is so perfectly readable in,the environments and you can settle in,and explore and scavenge and build to,your hearts content without ever, needing to stress over technical issues,I mean what an accomplishment no mans, sky is also a game that absolutely sings,as a portable title we already feel like, this is going to be our default way to,play the game going forward a perfect, experience for long sessions on the, couch or short blasts when traveling on,a moving couch none of of the sacrifices, that have been made by hello games to,get this one up and running will, encroach on your enjoyment of the, experience and it still looks pretty, fantastic even with the visuals dialed, down to what is probably their most, basic settings with the arrival of the, huge Waypoint update weve got near, total parity in terms of features uh,multiplayer aside of course with other, platforms as well and the 4.02 version, which we tested brings a raft of,fundamental changes that make for a much, more streamlined and intuitive, experience in terms of inventory, management and Mission tracking some of,this may sound a little bit dry but the, changes really do make for a game thats, much easier to comprehend and navigate, and if thats boring well Im sorry its, been a long road getting from there to,here and new players will never know any, different but no mans Sky veterans who, have been on that Journey with the, developers will be all the more, impressed youve got a new level cap, improved Auto saving detailed entries, for discoveries breakdowns of available, missions and what they entail and,Illustrated references to all the flora, and fauna and skill trees where you can,go and get a handle on what tech you, currently own and whats out there to,work towards next you can track, accomplishments which are now clearly, detailed in the games menus and an,inventory redesign and upgrading of,storage capacities makes for a much, smoother time just just generally, theres also a new relaxed mode for, those who wish to explore and craft, without the pressures of the default, survival gameplay and there are now a,ton of tweakable elements in the game, settings for you to play with in order,to create your own totally customized, experience want to tweak how much fuel, your ship needs you can set enemy, strength or crafting costs go for it,dude theres barely a single aspect of,the core gameplay that cant now be set,to your preferred level of difficulty be,that high or be that low in short this,is no mans sky in the best shape its, ever been in and its all here on switch,in a port we genuinely didnt believe,Hello Games could deliver in such solid, form if youre already playing this one,on another console this is a version, that is still worth worth looking into,as a delightful way to enjoy the endless, space exploration in a portable form, factor if youve yet to experience the, joys of this infinite Intergalactic, survival sandbox well youre in for an

No Man’s Sky Nintendo Switch Review & Performance!

[Music],having played over 500 hours of this, game back on PC it will be a slightly, different review to the normal format, but I will give scores at the end hi,everyone and welcome back to switch up,now Im sure youre aware about no mans,Sky when it launched it was in a,terrible State I was incredibly hyped by,what Sean Murray presented in all of his, interviews and you could see the passion, and vision he had for it now, unfortunately as with many things in,life the reality didnt quite live up to,those expectations it was a bit of a,buggy mess it didnt have nearly half of,the features that wed spoken about and, there were people demanding refunds left, right and center now when that happened,Hello Games the small Indie team that, created it essentially went into, hibernation everyone thought that was it,they were done and we would never hear, from them again little did we know, though that Sean Murray the vision he,had its what he wanted to bring they, just couldnt bring it in time and they, stayed hibernated away badgering away on,the game from many many years releasing, these large pivotal updates that added, much of that content and I think they, really tipped the balance with the, community when they released the, multiplayer update it was a,game-changing thing that people had, asked for since the beginning and it,meant that you could bump into people in,the universe and also show off your, amazing bass Creations so to hear that, theyve attempted to bring it across to,the switch doesnt really surprise me,know in this team but how does it,perform in duct and handheld mode and,can I force it to Crash by building a,monstrosity of a base and in the end is,whats here worth your money well, hopefully I can answer all of those, questions but this Performance Based, review no longer one mans lie well, lets find out,no mans sky is going to cost you 39,pounds 99 or your Regional equivalent, and that is a download of just 3.7 gigs, but firstly what do we and what dont we,get with the switch version the biggest, omission and my biggest disappointment,is the fact that it doesnt include, multiplayer although online multiplayer, chance encounters were incredibly slim,if you were just exploring when they, occurred they are magical and the, thought that you know theres other, players out there really does change the, feeling of the game youll find several, different game modes from the survival, through to the creative and there are, also Community game modes which are, limited time events although I am,disappointed it doesnt include, multiplayer theres more than enough, content here for a single player, experience when you first start out with, nothing on a desolate planet and, gradually build up and discover more, about the civilizations that lived in,these areas to eventually start, constructing your own home its just an,incredible experience now the most, important aspect I would say is probably, the performance so were going to go,through frame rates well look at the, image quality some of the drawbacks to,the switch version and an overall, impression so frame rates then when you, first begin the game youll be,pleasantly surprised finding that it,runs at 30 FPS and with very good frame, pacing making it feel smooth as you run, around the initial areas now for many, one of the largest appeals will be the, base building as such I got a little bit, creative to see how much I could affect, the frame rates when youre in foot or,moving around your base frame rates, certainly are impacted if youre, building very large structures but its,not nearly as bad as I thought it would,be the biggest impact I was able to make, was if I launched a ship near the, largest part of my base and then turned, back to look at it I could drop the, frame rate right down to 20 FPS its, kind of expected when you build a,skyscraper that goes out into space and,I could probably do the same on my old,PC but its admirable how as soon as you, turn away from it frame rates up back up,to 30 FPS or if youre running through, its corridors they maintain 30 FPS,theres some very clever use of whats, being rendered and handled by the CPU,and GPU when youre not looking at it a,good way to kind of test this is when, you first start a planet or when you, first load in if you spin the camera, around it will load in some assets that, were otherwise hidden now once theyre, there theyre there but I cant imagine, the work that went into making this, thing run 30 FPS most of the time now,the image quality well its okay, sometimes especially when youre, building larger structures youll notice, the dynamic resolution scaling will grab, that resolution and drag it down this, gives the appearance of blur it can, introduce some aliasing on the edges of,objects and if youre playing on a large,TV expect the experience to be,understandably of a lesser quality than,if youre playing on any other device, but even then it looks far better than,it has any right to the fact that it,still maintains some shadowing for the, player albeit at a lower resolution and,self-shadowing as well as environmental,Shadows is really quite impressive you, might wonder how the transition between, the planets and space affects frame rate,as well but when we do that its, staggering how smooth theyve managed to,keep it that go goes for when youre, leaving a planet or entering an,atmosphere its not without his visual, bugs and anomalies the camera can be,shifted so that you can see through the, floor and lets just say I didnt intend,to climb an invisible ladder to heaven, but that seems to have happened in this, instance and there seemed to be quite a,few missing Collision Maps so that you,can travel through otherwise solid, objects as far as crashing goes on the, switch well Ive only played about three,or four hours of this switch version, its not to say you wouldnt have any,but Ive not now although its, predominantly a third person experience,I did wonder if they would have included, some form of gyroscopic controls I know,Im always banging on about them but, when Im aiming I do like to use that,joy-con gyro its not the case theres,no gyro here youll be using standard, controls right stick to aim left stick,to move and theres some tweak ability, here although the customization options, arent extensive so visually the games, looking impressive for what it is but,how about handheld now handheld for me,is the way to play this release the OLED,screen as weve heard time and time, again makes what otherwise eyes looks, okay over a stretched image look crispy, when youre playing in handheld and it,also feels remarkably smooth performance,Remains the Same transitions to outer, space and down to planets are almost,Flawless however frame rates will drop, when you first reach the surface as,items load in but just look at it,how how is that happening while its, difficult to assess audio quality when, using headphones things sound okay it,doesnt sound like the sample rates have, been massively reduced although they may, have slightly and that brilliant, soundtrack remains intact, foreign,as far as gameplay then predominantly if,youve not played it youre dealing with,an exploration game merged with an,action simulator I guess it allows you,to fly different Vehicles create any, bases you want and movement around the, world is relatively straightforward, moving with the left stick and the, camera with the right however when you, enter Base building mode you can, actually switch this perspective to,allow you to oversee the entire area it,works reasonably well but controls can,get a little fiddly and theres a full, storyline to work through the creatures,in the world can be interacted with, allowing you to scan different items, make new discoveries and also name, anything you find if you arrive into the, game for the first time there have been,a lot of changes to make it more, accessible on the Nintendo switch when, you return to the game it will track a,log of exactly where youre at with the, story and it will give you a summary of,the progress so far as you make new, discoveries

No Mans Sky Beyond Review

in 2019 no mans sky is the water fight,of games when your water balloons are, stacked high and your water gun is full, its an absolute blast but inevitably, you run out of liquid ammunition and, have to pause for several minutes, soaking wet and shivering while you, operate a hose and refill for the next, round of fun while the recent beyond, update represents another significant, step in the right direction that, improves almost every area the, uninteresting harvesting and survival, mechanics that underlie it all remain, incredibly grindy and frequently,mind-numbingly tedious,at its best no mans sky plays like an,elaborate and interstellar animal, crossing you travel the Stars and visit, strange procedurally generated planets,in a never-ending quest for loot and, money to spend on upgrades ships to,pilot and bases to build every time you, think youll log off for the night, another notification pops up that, reminds you about that one last thing, you really wanted to do and before you,can say I need an intervention its 5:00,a.m. and youre redecorating your fifth, base on some remote world but the same, things that make playing no mans sky a,wonderful habit forming Odyssey that, would make Tom Nook proud often work, against you like when you find yourself, repeatedly grinding the same materials, and crafting the same parts over and, over again in an ongoing effort to feed, and fuel the numerous engines of,interstellar life youll spend tedious, hours mining rocks to craft metal plates, that you need to make starship engine, fuel just so you can take off on your, ship and see the impressive completely, smooth transition from ground to outer, space and back again and even though no,man Skys carrying limitations have been, even further loosened with the beyond, update your inventory still fills up,almost constantly ensuring that the, grind will never be defeated with few, ways to automate resource gathering, exploring the cosmos often takes a,backseat to waiting for your mining, laser to melt a tree into resources for, minutes at a time and yet theres, something truly special about no mans, sky after the beyond update that brings,it dangerously close to being what we,all thought it would be when it was, first revealed years ago getting lost, among the stars seeing strange and, unique creatures and claiming a piece of,the NIE limitless galaxy for yourself by,building a home are all rewarding and,all but completely unique to no mans, sky its hard not to fall in love with,it in the brief pockets of time where it,isnt forcing you to beat your head, against the wall for an hour while you, search for a deposit of copper but the, stupid dr. Seuss planet youre on has, nothing but uranium, the improvements and additions included,in the beyond update are apparent as,soon as you boot it up with better, graphics and a revamped tutorial and, mission guidance system that makes it,much clearer what you should be working, toward at any given time unlocking new, technologies has been reimagined as,skill trees that are easy to understand, and entertaining new features like the, ability to tame and ride animals add, some much-needed levity and these are, just a few of the highlights on the, massive laundry list of things in the, beyond update that make no mans sky, vastly more interesting than its ever, been,of special note among the many things, that Beyond brings to the table are a,greatly improved multiplayer system and,the addition of VR functionality both of,which are significant game changers but, come with their own set of issues, multiplayer now allows for eight players,on console and 32 on PC which will no,doubt lead to some truly memorable, shenanigans and most of the glitches, that were widespread in previous, versions have been ironed out on the, other hand its easy to get left behind, when everyone has to mind their own, resources separately and VR makes, roaming the galaxy of no mans sky more, enthralling than ever before but on psvr, its a pretty low res and blurry, experience that might make those with, weak stomachs lose their lunch,[Music],no mans sky now in its third year has, vastly improved in virtually every way, from the variety of things you can do to,the ways you can quest alone or with, friends but in its heart still beats a,vicious grind and painful monotony, thats difficult to swallow even with, all the new content and quality of life, improvements even so its easy to be,drawn to its addictive ecosystem of,upgrades and exploration and with, functional multiplayer and VR,capabilities in play theres a lot to,love about this spacefaring exploration, adventure for more on no mans sky check, out 10 minutes of psvr gameplay and,Shaun Murray walking you through, everything in the new update and for, everything else, stick with IGN

No Mans Sky Review // Is It Worth It in 2022?!

around two years ago i reviewed no mans, sky and called it a good game but very, boring in what it was doing and i hoped, that game would change in the right, direction at least the direction that, thought that was right and two years, later i can simply say that game did not,go in that direction but boy,the game has changed and the developers, are commendable for the things that they, are doing with this game and in this, video were going to be reviewing no,mans sky and discussing whether it is,worthy to buy, right now more than six years after its, release or just whether you should, ignore it as a failed game so without, further ado lets just get it started, and as always with every single one of,our videos im going to be giving you,the answer right away whether no mans, sky is actually worth it or not and the, answer is yes no mans sky is absolutely, the game that you should experience if,you havent experienced it no matter, what you think about that and if you, have played this game only during the, launch or even the first few years after, the launch you should get back to this, game but again this game is still not, perfect at least well not for me lets, discuss all the great things about this, game and some of the bad things as well,so lets get started and if you want, more reviews like this one for the older, games or newer games dont forget to hit,the subscribe button the channel is,growing good and immense straight and i,cannot thank you enough for this and, here is for maintaining this growth and, hopefully reaching a new heights, together well now back to no mans sky,for the ones who doesnt know what is no,mans sky so genres gender wise no mans, sky is space survival sandbox crafting, exploration game its rather the mix a,lot of different genres and its very, difficult to put in one specific genre, youre playing as a traveler youre, playing in this giant procedurally, generated universe consisting of well, seemingly infinite number of planets and, star systems there is no point telling, you there are 18 quintillion or,septillion planets or things like that, because yeah for all practical purposes, the universe is basically infinite and,you spawn on this random planet having,no idea who or what you are where you,are and you should well discover what is,happening around you story-wise there is,nothing exceptionally amazing about this, game there is a story but you can simply, just ignore it completely and you will, not be losing you actually need to,progress the story a little bit to,unlock some very important information, and important places like anomaly, station yeah but yeah if youll just, ignore it youre not gonna lose a lot of,pits and the game can actually be,divided into few different well genres,or stages when you start the game game,is basically purely a survival game you, will need to repair your ship you will, need to find the resources and you will, need to basically survive because you, dont have a lot of things and you, cannot do a lot of things you cannot, even effectively mine the large amount,of resources which makes the game a bit, well grindy at first but this part is a,survival part and it actually makes you, familiar with the game this part, continues around few hours like maybe, five or six hours at max until youll go,through the story enough and unlock more, recipes that will give you well ability,to all survive better without even, thinking about dying just to the bad, storm and bad weather and after this the, game is actually opening up and here, where you have a choice to do a bunch of,things the game is not giving you any, specific choice to do the things but, here is where the game is becoming true, sandbox here from from here on you can, continue and being just explorer and, just explore by a bunch of different, planets for the resources or just for,the life forms because yes planets and, both living forms are and living life, forms are fully procedurally generated, and you can actually make pretty good, amount of money just by discovering the, different species and different, creatures which is a great thing to have, you can just continue playing as a,regular rpg with the different missions, and you can just get missions from, different space stations and anomalies, and usually those missions are nothing, well exceptional its just a fetch quest,go and deliver this thing here go and, take this thing from here and deliver it,there go and kill this amount of enemies,go and find this amount of creatures, scan this amount of creatures and things, like that its nothing exceptional but, enough to keep you busy you can also, invest yourself into building a basis, and even entire settlements which was,not available during my previous review, and which is pretty pretty cool thing to,have you also can invest it to your, freighter and will have a giant mobile, base you can become sort of bounty, hunter as well and with an outlaws, update you can actually recruit a,wingman which is a breath of fresh air,for the game because yeah now we can, have a combat not alone and basically, you can have your own kind of crew doing, the different well interesting things in,the galaxy plus the pirate race and just, pirates adding the additional flair to,the game giving you a bunch of things to,do and im gonna give the credit where, credit is due with all of those things, including a bunch of different, additional transport vehicles like, meccas uh ability ability to tame the, different creatures and even breed them, grow them and even ride them with the, settlements and bunch of bunch of other, things you have a lot a lot a lot of,things to do for at least 50 hours of,the game but the game is actually, littered with one very big issue that i,still did not find a solution for which,is pretty easy to actually solve for the, developers and it is the resource, grinding game you see,no matter what level you are and no,matter how advanced you are you have to,mine your resources manually or just go,and buy it from well stores and if you, dont want to buy it and if you want to,have your own resources you need to go,from planets to planet and just mine, them, manually im not talking about some, specific like very rare resources like,plant-based resources like plant-based,resources because those resources can, actually be grown on your bases and even,on your freighter but im talking the, very basic resources like ferrite and, cobalt and very very basic resources you, still need to go from planet to planet,to gather them granted you can gather, the huge amounts of them all at once but,you will still need a lot of them and, this mainly goes to the survival, resources there is used to take off from, the planets like sodium that is used, from the environmental protection the, oxygen and things like that so you need,to gather those things constantly even,at the later stages of the game and this, just breaks my immersion and this makes, this game,a bit more tedious than it should have, the solution that hello games can, implement is just creation of the mining, settlement imagine your base is not just, being a vanity places where you can just, enjoy what the amazing things that you, build imagine that your bases are fully, functioning mining settlement imagine, that you built a fully outfitted outpost, and ships are flying from this outpost,to mine the resources available on this, planet and this will force you to build,a different bases on the different, planets because different planets have, different resources and imagine, incorporating your freighter and your, frigates fully that you can build with, the freighter just building just, bringing those resources to your, freighter and just collecting them in,your one giant mobile space base that, would have been just great but right now,its quite tedious and that is actually, the biggest turn off for me because when, youre finished with an exploration and,you will be done with an exploration in,a few dozen hours because yeah despite, hello games increasing the planet, variety by a lot it is still not, infinite and it cannot be possibly, infi
