Ruger AR556 Review – Entry Level Budget Ar-15 Rifle

[Music],[Applause],[Music],hey everybody welcome to gun deals today,im going to do unboxing and reviewing,of,a ruger ar-556,um so i will switch this box around,i will open the box up show you what, comes with it and then well go over the, rifle time my thoughts and,and so on so lets dive on in so lets, open the box up it obviously is a,padded box comes with a 30 round, magazine comes with a gun lock, comes with a user manual comes with a,rigger, sticker and it comes with,a chamber flag and that is it,and obviously well it comes with the, rifle, all right so let me put this box aside, and then well dive on in,all right so uh what well do is well,go from the butt stock to the tip,and well go over the features uh what i,like about it,um the internals and things like that, giving my overall thoughts on,the firearm so starting at the back here, this is an,m4 butt stock these are very very, typical youll see these on,typically most errors that you get these, ones arent already done up,common stock and they work perfectly, fine a lot of people do like to upgrade, these though, but theres absolutely no need to um,unless you want to um,the one thing i dont like about them, there is no rubber butt pad on the back, here, not that these have a lot of recoil, obviously its just a 556,223 so theres very little recoil but,its still nice i think to have the, little rubber pad here but these are, perfectly functional,um it does have some slots here so,theres one here for a sling and theres, another mount here for a sling, there is no qd slots on here for qd,sling mount, and it is obviously adjustable and, obviously its a six position, adjustable collapsible stock uh this is,a mil-spec buffer tube, and now moving back we come to the, castle nut when you get a firearm you, want to i mean things will be inspected, before it leaves,um any manufacturing plant but i would, recommend, giving your firearm a once-over when you, receive it just so you know that, everything is a-okay,so one of the things i would recommend,is coming back looking at the castle nut, making sure its sticked,um at least once and that would,uh by staking it what happens is it,prevents the castle not for being able,to back well it could still do it but it,makes it a lot harder for the castle not,to ever come loose,um so you want to make sure that its, stepped and then you come to an,end plate here of an implant here and, there is no qd mount, sometimes youll get an employee that, has a qd mount on the back this is one,of them, but this is an entry-level budget ar-15,so i wasnt expecting that,um so yeah everything looks fine there,on the top of the 1913,pick rail here on top of the receiver we,do have a ruger logo stamped, right there we do have a basic charging, handle, that comes typically again with any kind,of,ar-15 that doesnt have an aftermarket, charging handle thats the one youre, going to get,the upper and lower is 7075 t6 aluminum, again its just kind of standard across, the board and it does come with the, ford assist this sorted forward assist, this is your, brass deflector dust cover has a,typical mil-spec magazine release, and when and then obviously moving down,to the grip this has a rigger branded, grip on this, its a pretty decent grip its nicer, than some of the the very basic stock, grips that, come with um with ars its its a little, more slim lined you can definitely get a,nice purchase on it,its got serrations at the back its got, some mild texturing the texturing for me,needs to be a little bit more aggressive, especially if your hands get wet and, sweaty and it might be a little slippery,so i would like to see a little bit more, aggressive texturing but again its not,a big deal and if you dont like the, furniture, the grips are 20 bucks to switch out so,if you dont like it its super simple,to switch these things out,it is hollowed at the bottom and some, again you know some of the aftermarket, parts you will get like a compartment, where you can store something in there, but this one is hollow, and it does come with a mil-spec trigger, and well touch base with that trigger a,little bit, later in the review some of the things i,do like about it,as i do like the the trigger guard here,is curved,we have the magwell here is flared which,is really nice, makes it easier insertion of the, magazine,on the other side we have a standard,mil-spec,bulk catch and release and we have a,safety there and it is stamped with a,rigger logo here, also moving up to the, inch rail cover so its a 16 inch barrel, with a 13 inch rail,um with the the rail its got some, really aggressive cutouts right here to,help lighten the rail up,um but it does come with obviously just, have some good slots for m lock so you, have a,m lock slot here you have the three, oclock position and then you have, all the way the six six oclock position, and its the same on the other side, and at the one oclock position you do,have one right here if you need to mount, something,so theres plenty of m-lok slot rails, there, the gas system is a carbine length gas, system, now theres three different lamps there,is carbine, mid length and theres a rifle length um,so this ones a carbine length, all are proven all are excellent you, dont have to worry about that um,there is theres things that like so,carbine length,is the shorter of them and it makes the,gun sometimes a little snappier, than like a mid-length so mid-length,will just kind of smooth it out a little, bit, but most of you who dont shoot a lot, really probably arent going to tell, that much of a difference to be honest, one of the big big selling points of,this ar-15,is the barrel it is a code hammer forged,4150 cmv now if youre not familiar,uh with the ar platform or barrels and, things like that,uh coat hammer theres um your basic, barrels and theres a coat hammer forged, barrel quarter hammer forged barrel is,what you, typically want uh theyre designed to,last a lot longer, than a regular barrel um so,having cro having a coat hammer forged, barrel on a budget, sorry i know i keep calling this budget,um,but it is kind of a it is kind of a a,budget entry-level ar-15,um its good to go for sure um but it,just kind of is what it is,but the barrel is a huge selling point, for this firearm a lot of people will, buy a firearm in an ar-15 and when they, start realizing,um some of the upgrades they want to do,a coat hammer forged barrel is,is one of them and so you already have, that put in which is great, cooldown forged barrels are more, expensive than standard barrels also,um and so yeah its a really really nice, upgrade to,have and it is um and so theres also, the twist rate so this is a one and, eight twist theres a one and seven, twist a one and eight twist and a one,and nine twist,um and theyre all again work just fine, typically that i think the more common, ones youre going to see is the one, seven one and eight,so yeah so its an excellent barrel um,and its as to say its a huge selling, point for me,and it should be for a lot of people, with this firearm, moving up to the front we have a,standard birdcage a2 flash hider on,there, and they work phenomenally well also,so that is pretty much all the external, features of this ruger,so lets go ahead and open it up and, well take a look at the internals well, change the camera angle so you guys can,see down in here with me,ill be right back all right so well, put the upper there for a second,so uh well this is your lower receiver, push these pins in keep them out of the,way all right so at the back here this,is,now i didnt mention it beginning this,is your buffer tube right well this is,your buffer, and to take that out theres a little, little detent pin you just push that, down, and then, buffer now this is under its under, pressure so be careful when you take, that out,so this is your buffer spring and then, your buffer okay, and so um i do like to change these out, when i get um,when i get any new ar15 or air pistol or,full size,um i usually put in a um a damaged, industry spring, theyre very cheap theyre like five, bucks and then i usually update,uh the buff

Ruger AR556

look what we have yet another black evil, rifle the Ruger AR five five six you saw,it on the table with a couple of other, rifles of this type recently very, recently and it is its turn now,the rigger five six been shooting it for,a week or so and theyre joining it,okay and many people are interested in,this rifle including myself I was very, interested in it you know its just,of course Ruger has been making the Sr,series right piston guns and theyre in,but this is just their first foray into, the direct impingement and a low in,price wise you know basic they are a lot,of people again are looking for a basic,AR that will get the job done that will,be good enough and there are a lot of,them out there again were trying to,look at through a three of them that are, theyre pretty pretty common and,well-known from very well-known,companies like Smith & Wesson and Ruger, lets take a couple of shots with it and,see if it will still fire okay up to now,it has been alright to leader worthy it,was a red plate worthy,[Music],all right things to be zip and get that, little red plate with it sights right my,brain right,oh look here some Lucia ring boy,fun funfun Im going to go back over, there I see some cinder blocks on that, barrel pieces, this wanted to disrupt that a little bit, yeah lets take over here and take a,look at it it is the AR five five six, from Ruger it is much anticipated rifle,no doubt about that,a lot of people have interest in it,because a lot of people are Ruger fans,to begin with and theyre thinking about,an ar-15 and theyre not looking to,spend a thousand or two thousand dollars,on one so its quite natural they would,be curious about what Ruger has to offer, alright and in a nutshell it is just, your basic AR and you know its its, pretty much milspec in terms of any kind,of replacement parts that you would want,to put on it you know whether its, different tubes or stocks grips you know, bolt carriers all that kind of thing and,its got a few things that are kind of,specific to it you know theyve got some, things are Ruger and I dont know if,they actually made them at Ruger all of,them but they are Ruger parts like your, birdcage flash hider there and then it,has an interesting you know gas blocked, and sight post here its so its milled, out of a piece of aluminum I think its, gonna like yeah its aluminum billet and, thats different isnt it its not cast, like most of them are if they use one of,these kinds of folks this is kind of,going back to old school in terms of the, posts you dont have your full length, rail or anything it is a you know, baseline ar-15 it has a bayonet lug on,it thats probably the most important, thing that under youre worried about, youve got a quick detachable slot there, for a sling thats kind of an,interesting place to put it isnt so,that could be pretty handy for you all, that in one piece there and as we move,on back to gun let me show you something,I really like just go ahead so I dont, forget I have struggled I know a lot of,you probably have if you had a ours from, the old days because I go back long, before the rails and monolithic rails, all that kind of thing or they all look, kind of like this, well look at this I have taken these off, before you know you get both hands on,this and you pull as hard as you can and, hold your mouth right and then you need,a third arm for a second person to take, these off dont you get that pull down, and I was so pleased to to learn that, this one just get that the Delta ring, theyre just screws off and you just, pull them off so simply is that cool or,what, and not that I really take this off that, often but it that is just somebody was, thinking I dont know who it was, what they were thinking okay and that, can be dangerous you do that so were, back to here right let me let me take, the bolt out show you okay again its a,its a kind of a note no frills although, for a no frills gun its still kind of,tight there we go,it seems pretty nice we have not had in,the week or so Ive been shooting it I,might add any malfunctions okay no,malfunctions that looks pretty pretty, common done you got your state gas key, there its a chrome-lined carrier you, know and everything so you know its,its nothing exotic you know just just,is what it is and I guess Ill take that, apart but it is Chrome wine and get a,good and dirty here get me good and, dirty you can replace triggers or,anything its not the you know youll, have a lot of proprietary parts you know, that makes it just a Ruger or something, like a Wow here Im about to compare the, karo with this but you know a lot of,people make a single-action Colt,single-action clones and their mover, makes them and theyre built like a tank, but theyre theyre really different, inside Springs and everything well this,is they didnt do that with this this is,your pretty much your standard ar-15,excuse me modern sporting rifle right so,so anything you want to replace you can,do it got a barrel as its not its not, chrome line as I understand it is a,one-in-eight twist though and a lot of,people want that one 1/8 twist a more, desirable twist for just general, shooting for a lot of folks okay that, way it handles heavy bullets and light, bullets you know pretty well most people, are not going to notice the difference, not on what the twist is,but some people definitely will help, convince rest shooters and people that,do a lot of you know seeing what kind of,height group they can get at 500 yards,so yeah on the barrel so thats pretty, nice and you know theyre kind of a,different like the M&P 15 its just a,straight doesnt have that the contour, like a classic m4 but it doesnt really, need that and what else about that and,one thing youve got of course for a low,in gun you still got your dust cover, there, yeah lets put the pin back in yeah you,got your dust cover your brass deflector, your little button there right so if you, cant you can try to fix your jam if you, have a jam or make it worse right got, your uber slides pop up site there I did, have to adjust the sights I whats your, home post always do on any firearm I,think it was shooting a low when I first, got it so I just did that also painted, the front side forgive me,but its a lot easier to see and what, else about it this got the standard, stock you know six position stock I put,the limb saver on there to give me a low, extra length its like I did on the M&P,sport it just feels better if its so,incredible I had pointed this out many, times we have a lot of new people every, day adding just or taking away depending,on what it is a stock I mean even that, much it makes an immense difference and,how the firearm feels to you how how you, shoulder in how the site is positioned, for you so and of course thats the, beauty of a couple of adjustable stock, its a reason for them I still go back,to the old days of a crime bill the, clinton crime bill when these were like, illegal they were considered evil just, having an adjustable stock so there was,a reason for it theyre so handy a,person of these size or regardless what, youre wearing if you got heavy gear on,if youre in law enforcement or military, you know you dont need a long stock you,got that much clothing on you you know, that sort of thing so thats thats, valuable for a youngster or whoever, all right well shoot a little bit and,Ill see if I can tell you more lives, about it okay,Im gonna put a very last round in that, magazine John I always blame it on John, hes usually the one that tries to cramp,31 rounds a 30-round magazine okay lets, put some ears on here take a couple more, shots with it make sure it works again,Ive had no malfunctions if its ever, going to do it you know when its going,to do it dont you on camera we have a,big kitty litter, begging to be shot and I see another,2-liter there Im gonna go back over, there, unless getting a shade here or Summer,Sun messing with my rear side front side, eyes or something there we go pretty, nice the trigger is not quite as good as,the M&P sport but its close, more cinder left,Oh propane tank takes a couple

Ruger AR556 MPR

Haycock 45 with a Ruger AR 5 5 6 MP are,a multiple purpose rifle and I have, multiple purposes for it lets put a,round in the chamber and start letting,it serve its purpose by shooting some, steel over there yeah alright lets go,that left one the first one was off, because when I pulled the trigger the, little red dot was over to the right of,it pretty smart huh, about a 2 liter there you go Kentucky oh,I just wetted down the pot the pot, smoking on a cold winters day oh man, speaking of that wont work smoking pot, lets smoke a bunch more I hear the, smoke that paper, nice nice Oh a bowling pin holy thinness, bout shoot up that take long shoot about,30 rounds does it thats one of the, beauties in the fun aspect of an ar-15,it is just light recoiling pleasant to,shoot and I tend to say this one is we,got this compliments of buds gun shop we,borrowed it from them for a knee gunner, itll go back and be an e gunner auction, and again 10% of that goes to the Second,Harvest Foodbank so know youre doing, some good with if you win that auction, and we appreciate their help,Buds gun shop calm because this is,pretty cool weve had some requests for,it and I got to looking at it and mmm I,wasnt aware they made it I dont think, its been out very long but it is the,the MPR yeah NPR multiple multiple, purpose rifle okay it is an AR five five, six which is the name of one theyve, already brought out excuse me growing, out and this is the NPR its a little, different okay so before we shoot it,again dont forget to go to our, description if youre not an NRA member, and join up get a discount and help us,help yourself and help the gun rights, movement, and please dont fall prey to that, business of oh theyre an old, established uh you know over the hill, organization you know theyre the one, that we start with most cases and then, join others to you like I do but please,be an NRA member lets keep them strong,I dont think well like the country if,youre a Second Amendment supporter if,the NRA ever gets to the point was just, not very strong at all you know Im not, sure what is gonna replace that you know, anytime soon at least so anyway, appreciate your support there and, speaking of gun rights its nice to be,able to have a firearm like this, and enjoy it,I have several many of you have several,ar-15s theres millions and millions of,them and peoples hands out there and we,just enjoy the heck out of them people, hunt with them mostly target shooting, and just enjoyment of them just thought, like I do very very much fun to shoot, again that low recoil if youre a new, shooter, you know if thousands come in new every, day and if youve never used not that, familiar they are 15s the reason theres,a little bit of an obsession with them, you might think it might appear to you,to be an obsession is there just so much, fun they theres not many rifles that, anybody can pick up and not have to,worry about recoil you can adjust the, stock for whatever length of pull you, need theyre not going to kick hard, theyre accurate you can put a variety,of different sights on and theyre just, just a lot of fun a lot of fun to shoot, now this one specifically is very soft, shooter it has an 18 inch barrel whereas,a lot of the newer ones have a 16 inch, barrel this has an 18 and has a,full-length gas system, and so you can see the gas line going, all the way out to here so that makes, four Im not an expert on all this Im,not an expert on anything but it does, lend to having a softer shooting rifle, okay, with a longer gas system mid length II,even a mid-length gas system this has a,full length rifle system on it,and it really is a soft shooter it is,nice and got your muzzle brake out there, and its all Ruger are for the most part,I think a make the muzzle break I think, even the handguard and unless someone, else makes it for them but theyve got, their name on it too and they use all,the 75 70 66 whatever, aircraft aluminum all the usual on on,this firearm and its got the Magpul, furniture which is a nice stock and like, solid ones thats one of their newer, ones and the grip feels good got your, all the stuff you want on a are okay, that that most people want is it looks, like what they did was this thing sells, for around what the MSRP right eight, nine hundred some of it sells for around, seven hundred okay maybe under that just, depends and thats more than some of the, really low end of course ARS you can get,an AR these days here pretty nice one, four five hundred right well this was, just a little bit more than that but,its they put together a package I think, that is going to probably attract some, people who are going for those thousand, twelve hundred fourteen hundred dollar,ar-15s when I feel this one and shoot it,hits a lot like my Daniel defense I tell, you that a slim hand guard and the, smooth as operates and fired and it has,a trigger it has that Ruger whats it,gets the elite 452 I think they call it,the elite trigger its a nice trigger it,comes with that okay so good furniture, and and just just everything makes it a,really nice shooting ar-15 youre not, compromising youre not sacrificing it,looks to me like I mean Im not selling, this things but it looks to me like this,is one where theres not a lot of,compromise where as you do pay four or,five hundred dollars for one you know, maybe you got something on there you, dont necessarily want or you dont have,a nice trigger or you still got the big, sight post up here and youd rather have, you know flat rail pick thing rail to,put other things on there yourself you, know so this this is uh this looks like,a good decision to me on Ruger Spartans,so you be the judge you be the judge, been shooting it for a bottle of week, off and on and it just its just its,fun to shoot Im not yeah I was telling,John before we started here you know if,I hadnt it and Im not gonna compare it,murder Im getting to Daniel defense, versus this and all that kind of thing, because many of you know more about the,ARS and the construction and and, different things different kinds of,steel, than I do but but one of the things that, attracted me to the more expensive the,Daniel defense was the slim hand garden, the good feel of it the good trigger you, know and all those kinds of things and,all you have that same same feel it,weighs six point eight pounds and so,its not all that heavy it feels it,feels fine just just a nice trigger in,fact I want to shoot some more Ive got, that was some two to three and Ive got, some five six here,American Eagle in these magazines so if,I shoot some five five six out of it and, well variety not a lot of difference, five five six its a little warmer for, those who dont know okay most ar-15,will probably all ar-15s and in most, firearms chambered in two to three these, days you can fire five five six or two,to three but you need to check to make, sure I know the old Ruger mini-14,I think some of those were just for two,to three because you get less pressure, than you do with five five six basically, the same cartridge around everything, thats just more pressure is one of the, biggest differences and so but most, things most modern firearms now you can,use five five six or two to three just, need to check to make sure all right, theres a think of water jug on that, barrel over there or a nice jug or,something yeah still frozen a little bit,we had to hang up first hang up with, that everybody see that let me lock it,back dig that out not sure what that was, about, believe I did have a magazine in I,didnt I didnt release it too soon or,anything I dont believe around it took,a little bit of a beating okay, did get hit the main thing I want to,look at make sure theres a bullet in,the case so we know its not in the, chamber okay were in the barrel with, anything like a squib or anything all, right, reality TV here lets try again, all right I think we about in emptied, that of ice or whatever lets go back to,red plate middle one good the little one,on the right its hard what about this, barrel here this is a toughie shot all,day pretty good trigger pretty good, tri

Ruger AR 556 Review (The GOOD OLD Ruger AR 15 review)

welcome to firearms of america today i,am back here at shooters in fort marsh, were about to do,some reviews as you can see i do have, some variety over here and i think ill, start, with this and no this is not a guitar, this is lets find out what it is,the good old ruger,ar 5 5,6 and if you have been subscribed to my,channel for some time you already know, that i,actually reviewed this twice, yes both of those reviews however were, pretty horrible,so dont try to look them up they were, one of my first reviews, but today i decided to make a little bit,of the better review not that its gonna,be great but ill try to do a better job,so,lets do some reviewing of this ruger,ar-556,16-inch barrel chambered in five five, six, obviously uh ive done some shooting, obviously not on this range because this,is only a hand, gun ammo range but ive done some, shooting on the outdoors range, here it is,so as you can see it does handle recoil, very very well the 16 inch, barrel does a great job the stock here,is a collapsible, six position stock and it does a very, good job so lets start talking about, the stuff one of the things that i kind,of wish,to see if you are getting this rifle, might be a really nice upgrade if you, dont want to upgrade the whole stock,a little rubber pad will go definitely a,long way right here because this is,not a an extremely comfortable, surface definitely feel it on your, shoulder in a not a very, nice way the grip here as you can see, nothing too impressive at all there is,some aggression doesnt really add a lot, but, again not bad the ergonomics overall, pretty good, and it fits in your hand quite, nicely all right i think this is one of,the best options whenever it comes to,the,entry-level ar-15 because it comes, with pretty much everything you need, right out of the box you dont really, need to upgrade the size, because you do get you have your front, side, which is in fact adjustable now here you,can see it was actually upgraded, with a fiber optic side, but it does come with a regular steel, pulse that is actually adjustable and,you do have the rear, flip up side which works, very nicely and really thats uh pretty, much all you need to,handle this,ar-15 a few things that you can put,a red dot system would be nice why not,and uh the nice flip up magnifier, would be great as well this is what i,had on my ar,556 on this this particular, one so it does come the brand new, does come with 230 capacity, magazines magpul magazines and uh,the operation of,the magazine getting it in and ejecting,it,works very very well i do like it,now the mag release button is not, ambidextrous its only on this side, and uh it works, flawlessly i have to say,now lets talk about the uh trigger and, the, racker all right the wrecker,i would say could have been a little bit, smoother uh,so if you are getting the brand new one,i would say a little bit of extra, lubrication will go a long way,for sure now whenever it comes to the, trigger actually it is a pretty good, trigger, considering this is the entry level and, considering the price,we do have, absolutely no travel before it breaks so,definitely a very very impressive, trigger now the front grip, very intuitive i think honestly this is,probably would be one of my,one of my favorite parts about this, particular um,ar15 is the front grip i i think its, much more ergonomic than compared to for, example, your typical ar-15 grip which i do have, actually here let me show you when im,referring to,something like this youve probably seen, this sort of a thing,on a lot of and i mean it does fit into, your hand pretty good, but not as good as this round one i mean, this,is just this is just perfect, you do have your uh flesh suppressor at,the front which is removable,uh in case if you do want to put in uh,suppressor yeah if thats the kind of,stuff you are into so,threaded barrel which is a very very, nice plus, now the safety uh it only, engages if the slide is wrecked,[Music],all right and its a very nice very, intuitive, switch very easy to operate with just, one finger, with uh just one hand if you need to,switch it off quickly pretty good,i do like it a lot trigger is phenomenal, now uh another thing that i do like like,i said you know the,its its one of the best entry-level,ar-15,purchases in general uh because of the, stuff that it comes with all right two, magazines,uh you already do have the your standard, size right which sometimes you dont get, like for example on the other ar-15 that,i will be reviewing, next you dont get any sides which might,be fine you know,it gives it gives you guys an option you, know, you as a buyer you buy your rifle and, then you decide if you want to,add that um if you want to put a red dot,on it or if you want, something like this but to me i think, you want stuff that is,ready to go out of the box and this is,definitely ready to go out of the box,and other things that other things other, things that you are getting, right out of the box would be the dust, cover check it out its, right there perfect which again you uh,typically dont really get that stuff,on uh most of the rifles, out there so overall pretty good, pretty good the only thing i think i,would uh kind of like to see here,is uh if there were some, picatinny but thats again you sacrifice,it for this very nice, grip its either that or your uh,accessory rails on the bottom and on the, front so you dont really, have a lot of that accessory rail if you, want to put a bigger scope,or something like that keep that in mind,if you are, planning to do some upgrading,on this rifle so lets get back to the, range do some more shooting, and uh well see well try to come up,with some, reasonable conclusion for this rifle,so,so overall like i said i think this is,one of the best, purchases out there whenever it comes to,the entry-level ar-15s,probably next to impossible to find them, now,uh for sale anywhere really youre local, but if you do,and its a reasonable price not too much, above the msrp, definitely go ahead and get it because, its not going to last there for too, long considering the way things are, going, all right let me know in the comments, below guys what do you think about, this ar 556 what do you think about this, review if you have any, requests for reviews you can uh drop, them in the comments below and,i will be happy to address them thank, you very much guys for watching this was, firearms of america, ill see you guys in the next video, you

competition, this certainly forced them to come to,market with a very valuable offering the, springfield saint has some very unique, and useful features the saint uses a,mid-length gas system it also utilizes a,tungsten bolt buffer, together this creates a very smooth, recoil cycle another unique feature is,the fire control group the internal, components are polished and coated in,nickel boron most importantly nickel, boron coating makes the action smoother, protects the parts from wear and makes, them much easier to clean, the saint is a little higher on our, price scale than most of the others, while staying within our budget it has, many compelling features for the, discerning shooter, the enhanced gas and buffer system along, with enhanced fire control group make it,a great choice for the beginning, competition or tactical shooter, additionally its a great choice for a,shooter who values the finer details of,their experience at the range, ruger ar 556,ruger has long been a company known for, providing high quality firearms at,reasonable prices, recently they decided to enter the ar-15,market with the,ar-556 and sr-556,the,ar-556 is a feature-packed rifle at a,great price,it features a standard 16-inch barrel, with a collapsible six position butt, stock, ruger uses cold hammer forged barrels, for increased durability and accuracy, the fixed front sight and folding quick, deploy rear sight mean that you are, ready to put rounds on target right out,of the box,a picatinny rail allows you to mount a,red dot scope or other optic of your, choice, plus the folding rear sight makes room, for your optics but allows you to get, back in the action if your primary optic, fails, the ruger,ar-556 would be great for a versatile,budget-friendly starter rifle, smith and wesson m and p-15 sport ii,one of the most versatile rifles the m,p-15 sport rhone 2 makes a strong, argument for the best ar 15 under dollar,1000,its a rather basic gun but its, enjoyable to shoot and surprisingly, lightweight it follows a classic, platform and shoots 5.56 or 223,remington rounds with ease, the one colon 9 barrel twist offers a,reasonable twist rate for both heavy and, light caliber bullets, however its a smidge slower than other,ar-15s on this list, while im a fan of this rifle im not, keen on its handguard, the absence of a heat shield is not, ideal for continuous shooting, luckily an upgrade wont put you over, the dollar 1000 threshold,a detailed analysis of the m and p15,sport roma 2 shows that the manufacturer, used high quality components,it ticks most checkboxes which is,surprising for this price point, even though some users may prefer a,heavy chrome lining the sportoman 2 does, well without it,the rounded winter trigger guard and the, four pounds weight offer a pleasant, shooting experience, and although slightly barrel heavy its, still an effortless rifle to use, mossberg mmr carbine, most gun owners will recognize the name, mossberg, perhaps best known for their shotguns, they also stake ground in the ar-15,market,the mossberg mmr carbine holds many, competitive features it comes equipped, with a slim profile free floated m-lok,handguard,so what does that mean for the shooter, mlk handguards allow for easy attachment,of accessories,so you can easily add foregrips bipods, flashlights and any other tools you, desire, also the free-floating hand guard, increases accuracy when shooting from a,rested position, set up with iron sights out of the box,it also sports a length rail for any, optics setup you can think of,additionally the single stage trigger, helps you achieve accurate shooting,so what does this all mean for you the, mossberg mmr is a rifle with great, factory features and room for plenty of,personalization, bushmaster xm 15m 4a3,bushmasters xm 15m 4a3 adjustable stock can be collapsed, for close quarters shooting or extended,to fit your reach, the carry handle and fixed front sight, post have been the standard for years, and allow you to shoot without adding, any optics, the xm 15m 4a3 comes with a manganese, phosphate external finish and a chrome,chrome-lined barrel for rust protection, and easy cleaning, the aluminum is also anodized for, protection from rough handling and, corrosion it would be a great choice for, somebody who wants a light handy and, accurate semi-automatic carbine for, utility use, satige arms msr-15 patrol, first of all this next increased, accuracy in addition they treat the, barrel with melonite one of the most, durable and high-tech finishes available, even better the msr-15 gets its power, from a mid-length gas system so why is,that important,a mid-length gas system cuts down on,recoil and provides smoother action with, less wear on parts also the rifle, includes an enhanced single stage, trigger and blackhawk furniture, why is all of this so exciting, because it combines a host of desired, precision shooting features into a low, priced package, all together this makes the rifle, perfect for somebody who wants a quick, dead will have to supply their, own, therefore the expanse is not ready to,shoot out of the box as most of the, other rifles on the list, stag arms model 15 m4,the model 15 m4 may have relatively, simple features but dont let that fool, you its an excellent budget ar-15,outstanding characteristics of the model,15 m4 carbine include a one colon 7 inch, twist rate and a military grade design,a chrome line Ruger AR-556 AR-15 Review: Is It Good, Great, or Junk?

[Music],[Music],welcome back everybody today were going, over this rifle that you see in my hands, that you saw in the intro this is the,Ruger AR five five six so this is the, budget rifle offering from Ruger feel, around on the internet theres a few,ar-15s that are pretty much always sub,$700 made by sort of big reputable, manufacturers and this is one of them so,I got one in requested it from primary, arms they sent it out for test &,Evaluation and basically been shooting,it now for about three or four months we,have just over night on the rounds, through it so far and basically what, were gonna do is do a bunch of shooting, with it test the accuracy of it come, back in and get into the specs of it and,at the end well let you know what we,think of it overall however one thing I,want to point out is that Ive noticed, with the sort of budget gun budget rifle, reviews we get a lot of new viewers here, viewers that are not subscribers so if,youre not a subscriber and you havent, been watching my series on basically, what all the different specs Im about,to talk about mean I highly recommend, you go back and do them or watch them, rather so that way you can understand, some of the differentiating factors, between the some of the different rifles, out there so Im gonna go into barrel, specifications the materials Im gonna,go into bolt carrier specifications the, materials all that stuffs important and,I have videos on each so I highly, recommend you guys check those out well, try to put links down below if I,remember to do so if not just put it up,in the search bar mr. guns and gear,ar-15 barrel specs air 15 bulk air group, and itll come right up so you guys can,see what everything means because I,really do think specs matter with ar-15s,as well as shooting which well get into, here in just a second particularly when, youre trying to decide which rifle is,right for you so thats about it were, gonna let the dogs take a look at and, then step out to the range and test the, accuracy,[Music],[Music],[Music],were gonna see this on a budget rifle, can do we have target downrange at 100,yards we have rest heres the ctk, precision rest for those wondering I,think I have a review of it on the rifle,we have our precision mount and primary, arms 1 2 8 scope on there with the acss, reticle a few different woods for you up,first will be guerrilla ammunition this,is their 55 green sierra blitzkrieg, bullet we got a couple bugs trying to,bite me and well see if we can push, through it we got about a five to ten, full value wind, crosswind here out on the range so,shouldnt be a big problem here 200,yards that might mess up the microphone,a little bit though on top of the camera,so I apologize for that if thats, happening,[Music],[Applause],hows interesting so were gonna load up,some 69 grain Ill play boattail, ammunition here from freedom Edition so,a little bit heavier load I should also, point out this ammo is their new, production two to three stuff so its, been pretty accurate in the past I there, will also be a code down on the bottom,of your screen here for 5% off any of,the freedom you nisshins a mile over on,their website so we appreciate them, doing that for our viewers here,I was interesting point of impact there, this rifle was zeroed with the freedom, initiative to do three remanufactured, stuff that I shoot up at all time beef, should see how this does in terms of,point of impact here I guess will, explain for the first start were, holding on the top left square I was, holding on the bottom left edge of that,so aim small miss small kind of thing, and interesting on the ship well see,how this litt does in terms of that, odd anyway we have the Fiocchi this is,their 77 grain match king hollow point, boat tail load two to three chambering, and well see how it does this is about,as heavy as it gets for commercial ammo, anyway and five five three or two three, five five six or two dudes right so,well see how she likes it one thing I,want to comment on sort of all is fresh,in my mind is the excellent figure on,this gun got some crap I must be Church, getting out so a trigger on this gun is,milspec in terms of how it looks and, everything like that and even how it,feels but its heavy I tested it before,I came out today it was breaking between, eight nine pounds so a lot of milspec, triggers out there will be right around, six pounds five six pounds something, like that this ones one of the heavier, milspec ones Ive ever tested so you, definitely feel it when youre bearing, down on it for groups like this again it,was really kind of crazy on that pio I,shift but sometimes that stuff just, happens I was laughing I read the, comments out there particularly in,budget rifles like this we tend to get a,lot more uneducated viewers in terms of,shooting and stuff like that and though, always you cant shoot for crap youre, not even hitting the bulls eye okay it,just kind of depends on the load so,anyway up here with the gorilla stuff, that was a good group in fact it was an,excellent group we are right at an inch, and a quarter on that one just over it,really could be an inch and a center to,center then we went down here to the, fruit of sixteen, greenstuff opened up a little bit right,at two and a quarter inches there came, back over here with a Fiocchi 77 gram, load right at an inch on that one so,cant complain about that for a non-free,floated rifle Ill take it starting out,on the end well get into the details, and work our way back we have the Ruger, proprietary flash hider out there on the,end its Ruger design it looks a lot, like some of the many 14s that youve, probably seen over the years does a good, job at hiding flash its a little bit, shorter than the standard eight – it,doesnt have a flat bottom like an aid,to would have so if youre firing prone, and the dirt or dust you may have some, stuff kicking up but really I dont, think thats much of an issue its a,good flash hider overall it is threaded, for 1/2 by 28 so if you want to put any, aftermarket muzzle device on there you,can you can run it suppressed like you, guys saw throughout the intro and it,runs just fine there so most of ice I,like it I like flash hiders it works, just fine theres a lot of stuff going,on here with the barrel first and, foremost its made of 4140 steel it is,cold hammer-forged that has a 1 1/8,twist and it has a carbine length gas, system so has no mellow night treatment,it has no chrome whining and thats, something that a lot of people on the, internet have discussed at nauseam you, guys saw that it certainly shoots, perfectly good groups better than many, out there on the market profile they, call it a medium profile I would call it,kind of a medium heavy profile and one, thing I should discuss now while were, trying to show you the profile is,exactly what Im doing right there so,instead of your traditional delt the, ring where you would actually just pull,it back and pop your hand guards off, this one here is threaded Ruger says, they have a patent on that I find that, kind of odd Eugene stoner made an ar-10,I think for Spain Portugal that had, almost exactly the same system so thats, been out for four years but I guess,Ruger just went back to the well with, that additionally while were on the, topic of history the gas block here, being pinned to the top of the barrel, was also something that stoner did on a,few different ar-10 rifles,so well its different than what were, used to with the air 15 it has been done, before it seems to work just fine,so well remove the hand guards here, just like that you dont need any tools,so that sort of is the advantage of it I,guess the disadvantage would be that you, know its not standard however if you, want to add any different hangers to it,it is standard so any of your likes a,Magpul carbine like hand guards will, drop in there just fine anyway what I,was taking it off for was to actually, show you the new barrel itself you can,see here underneath the hand guards it,is a point eight five zero diameter and, then out front patch the gas bucket, tapers down to a

The Most Versatile AR on the Market: Ruger MPR 16

[Music],hey guys thanks for tuning in to dfb tv,today were taking a look at the new,16-inch variant of the ruger mpr,the mpr series is a higher end version,of rugers mil-spec style ar-556 series, rifles, the original version has an 18-inch,barrel with a mid-length gas system this, one just knocks a couple inches off the, barrel and has a couple of other minor, changes but overall i think its, probably the superior rifle, the nprs have a lot more modern, features than the ar-556,i think of the ar-556 as kind of a,budget rifle and the mpr,as more of an entry level option the mpr, makes for a much more scalable platform, the only issue with the 18-inch one is,that its a bit on the long side, the 16-inch version is still going to be,plenty accurate and plenty effective out,to the ranges youre probably going to,use this for,but its a little lighter and a little, shorter so its a little bit more, adaptable for different scenarios, ive tested this rifle in a couple, different configurations were going to,talk about those were also going to,talk about why you might go with an npr, versus a more expensive rifle the,16-inch mpr makes for a good comparison, versus the bcm recci 16.,they both have 16 inch barrels,mid-length gas systems full-length m-lok,free-float handguards, they both come in at approximately the, same weight the difference is that the, ruger has an msrp of 900 bucks and the,bcm has an msrp of about 300 bucks,if were just talking normal pricing, rugers do not typically sell, all the way up at msrp and ive also, really never seen a great deal on a bcm, recce,so in peaceful times the ruger would, probably cost about half as much as the, bcm, obviously nothing is selling for normal, prices right now but were still going,to use that as a jumping off point for,an argument about value,so first lets talk about the, configuration of this rifle as it comes, from the factory starting with the lower, the mpr uses the same basic receiver, sets from the ar-556 pretty much nothing, spectacular there, the controls are pretty basic although, this one does have an ambidextrous, safety lever im not a big fan of that, feature because im not left-handed,and the safety lever intrudes into the, path of my index finger when im,actually pulling the trigger, the grip and the stock are both from b5,systems the grip has a,very steep angle which i find to be a,lot more comfortable than your classic,a2 style grip, its also got fantastically aggressive, checkering this is actually one of the, grips that i use on my 11.3 ar pistol, the stock is pretty good as well the, adjustment is nice and positive, its got a really solid cheek weld the, only thing that i dont like about it is,the really soft recoil pad which tends,to stick on clothing, ruger ships these guns with a gen 2 30,round pmag at least in states where that,is legal, although i think i accidentally put a,gen 3p mag in the gun for this filming,so just ignore that the trigger is where, things get interesting that is,the ruger elite two stage triggers the, same one used in the 18 inch npr,you can also buy it as a drop in upgrade, for any other ar you happen to have,i dont really like two-stage triggers i,usually prefer a,quality improved mil-spec style trigger, either the qms or the act from alg, thats a bunch of [ __ ] letters but,it basically boils down to a trigger, that looks feels and performs identical,to a mil-spec trigger, except with a cleaner break and a,lighter pull im less of a trigger snob, than probably anybody you will ever meet,so,take my advice with a grain of salt the, ruger elite two-stage trigger is pretty, fantastic its got that weird soft,take-up that is pretty typical for two, stages, its excellent for rested precision, shooting but its also really fast if,you want to do some gamer splits, moving on to the upper we again have a,standard flat top upper receiver a,standard mil-spec charging handle and a,standard m16 style bolt carrier group, ruger had some complaints in the past, about using an sp1 like a sporter style, bolt carrier group in their guns but i,think they stopped doing that,at the front of the gun you have got a,16 inch mid-length gas cold hammer, forged 1-8 twist barrel,i am not joe accuracy but for my testing, this is an extremely accurate gun, probably owing to that trigger and that, barrel, the rail is different than the 18 inch, version of the gun its still a free, float with m lock on the three six and, nine, however a significant portion of the 12,oclock picatinny rail section has been, removed, for weight savings and comfort if you, shoot thumb over bore, theres still a section of picatinny at,the 12 oclock front position for, mounting backup iron sights, theres also one at the back and im not, entirely sure what thats for,if you are mounting a high magnification, scope on standard rings i guess you, could put one of those rings on the, handguard,i dont know why i wouldnt want to do,that myself and also cantilever scope, mounts have existed for a pretty long, time now so it doesnt really seem, like theres much point to it honestly i,would have preferred ruger to leave the, entire 12 oclock rail section intact on,this handguard,if you dont have a lot of rail section,at the front that doesnt give you a lot,of room for mounting something like an,infrared laser unit,i tested this with night vision using a,small stand-alone infrared laser unit, and that took up all of the rail space, that you have on this gun,so you cant mount an ir laser behind an,iron sight you also dont really have a,good way to attach a tape switch behind,a laser unit or flashlight,i assume most of that 12 oclock rail, section was removed for weight savings, more so than it was for comfort, however a bcm recce 16 which is almost, identical to this gun on paper still, weighs a half pound less, and that has a full length top rail i,would consider that full length top rail,to be good weight and worth keeping, around but thats just my mileage, the muzzle device on the mpr is rugers, extremely aggressive radial compensator, this thing is very very effective but,its also, very obnoxious this is one of the, loudest compensators ive ever shot, and ive played with a couple of really, bad ones before,[Music],that radial compensator does make the,gun extremely flat shooting and it,doesnt have nearly as much flash as a,lot of single chamber brakes that ive, tried but it does so,at the cost of your hearing it really is,one of the most obnoxious brakes ive, ever used, kind of curious how much of the soft, shooting nature of the 16-inch npr,is just due to that insanely aggressive, radial compensator,so ive taken it off theres just a,thread protector on there right now,im just gonna shoot a couple rounds of,uh,wolf steel case see how it feels without, the extremely aggressive comp on there, well the 16-inch mid-gas,system still really smooth and i believe, this is just a three ounce carbine, buffer,so you could definitely adjust the, buffer weight if you really needed to,this gun is not nearly as flat shooting, with the, extremely aggressive compensator removed, but its still really smooth,im very impressed by how well thats, tuned,so even without that compensator this is,still a soft shooting very well-tuned,gun,16-inch barrels with a mid-length gas, system have a reputation of being smooth, and comfortable guns to shoot, and that seems to be the case here the,gun also seems to be tuned pretty well,it ejects empties at about 230 with, standard range ammo,my form 4 cleared just as i was about to,finish testing this gun so i took it out,for one last little range trip to try it,with a suppressor,[Applause],when i tested the ruger ar556 pistol i,had a lot of reliability issues with, steel case and the ruger ars kind of,have a reputation for not really liking, steel case all that much,i tested this one with a lot of steel, case as well and i had a few issues but,it was really difficult to tell if they, were magazine related or gun related, other than that i had no major, reliability issues with this gun,it certainly handled steel case a lot, better than

Ruger AR-556 AR-15 Review: Is It Good, Great, or Junk?

Ruger AR 556 and Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport (with Ethan) – Bobs Little Sport Shop

[Music],hi and welcome back to bobs little, sports shop im ethan and today were, going to talk about, the differences between the ruger ar-556,and the smith and wesson m p 15 sport,so the first one were going to talk, about is the smith wesson m p this is,the smith wesson,m p 15 sport 2.,this is smith and wessons entry level,or economy gun, were just going to go over some of the, features today and then later down the, road well have a shooting video where, well compare both guns in a shooting, test, both of these guns are state compliant, these are both new jersey compliant, rifles so they ship from the, manufacturer with the stock pin,a 10 round magazine no bayonet lug and a,target crown muzzle so just going over, the rifle starting at the back we have a,mil-spec type stock which is pinned its,not its non-movable it has your sling, attachment here on the back so if you, wanted to mount a sling you do have that, option to mount it off the back of the, rifle, moving up its got a standard uh,standard pistol grip the safety is not, ambidextrous its just on the one side,it does have the dust cover and it has,the forward assist so the sport twos, came with the forward assist the, original sports did not have a forward, assist on them m p rate is engraved, right here mmp 15 on the receiver the, opposite side of the gun you have your, safety selector which is on fire, and safe bolt release, this is your smith wesson logo as well,as the model and serial number and, everythings on there moving down we,have a standard a2 front post and their, standard barrel so this is this is not,an m4 contoured barrel its just a,standard smith wesson barrel, which is chrome lined the handguard is a,two-piece plastic handguard that does, not have the heat shield in so a lot of,times people will change these out for, something else like a magpul drop in,hand guard, and then it does have the slip the sling, swivel up front so you can mount your, sling traditionally from the top to the, bottom if you wanted to it comes with a,standard charging handle, and the magpul flip up sight in the rear, which co-witnesses with the a2 post uh,the magpul sight it does have two, settings a close range and a long range, setting so when you look through it you, have a small hole for longer range or,the larger hole for close range, taking this apart,[Applause],this is a standard,uh ar15,volt carrier group and it does come, quite oily from the factory, and it has your standard charging handle, and lower receiver is,just a standard mil-spec trigger so,nothing special on the trigger uh as you,go and progress with the rifle you can,do make all kinds of upgrades but, standard smith and wesson sport these, retail for around 7.99 typically you can, find a little cheaper than that the, other thing that the smith and wesson, does have is the t marks on the top so,if youre going to mount a red dot on,here and lets say you had it mounted on,t8 on that slot if you were to take it,off you could mark it down somewhere, that thats where you had it mounted, thats where you had it zeroed so when, you remount the sight you mount it in,the same spot and its going to your, zero is going to be the same if you, didnt make any adjustments to the site, because youre mounted in the same exact, spot so its nice it does have those t,marks moving into the ruger, this is the ruger ar-556,this is like i said before with the, smith, this is the state compliant model so it,has the fixed stock,10 round mag no bayonet lug and the, target crown muzzle uh starting on the, back on this one its very similar to,the smith and wesson, sling attachment is on the back, standard mil-spec stock thats,non-adjustable moving up it does have a,slightly different grip this is a ruger, proprietary grip they make these,in-house to where it has a little bit, more purchase up here and it doesnt, have that front groove so were gonna, well compare these side to side to show, the differences in them coming up a,little bit further something you dont, see on many ar receivers is the warning, read owners manual before use so you, know what youre doing with it flipping,it over to the opposite side model names, right here, standard standard safety and then, obviously ruger where it was made these, are made in north carolina moving off to,the front they have a a2 type post its,a little bit different than the ones, youre going to see on the smith or most, guns it actually has serrations cut on,it which are designed to keep glare down, where you have multiple surfaces youre, gonna have less glare coming off of that, than you will with a standard a2 post so,thats one of the things they put on,there the other nice thing that that, smith ruger did on these is they put a,quick detach mount in the front here, right in the bottom of the a2 post so,where your bayonet lug would be you have,a,spot where you can put a quick, detachable for sling so if you want to,do a quick attach sling you can clip it,in there and then connect it in the back, with your standard loop in the back, standard straight barrel similar to the, smith and wesson the other thing that, ruger does thats a little bit different, than the smiths and any other one guns, out there is your delta ring which is,this right here on a standard smith like,a standard rifle like smith and wesson,to,take these hand guards off you have to,pull this delta ring down hold it down, with both hands and then get your, you they make a tool you can use or you,can just get your fingernail and that, fingernail in there, pull that down and open these and take, these handguards off in two pieces, well with the ruger its a lot easier, because, its actually just unscrews and then, these come right off, when you install your new handguard you, tighten the delta ring back up,and, its back together the site thats on,here as well is similar to the magpul, but its actually made by ruger its a,flip up site that is adjustable for, windage does have a little knob on it so,its very easy to adjust for windage, left and right,so looking at the rifles side by side, theyre both 16 inch barrels theyre, basically the same overall length, going down the rifle a couple of the, major differences both of these are, coming in about the same price right in,that 799 retail price point but going, down it you have major things that stand, out if youre looking between the two,to make a purchase, the one is the grip the grip that comes,on here is something that people usually, change right away, this grip has this piece that wraps, around here which is really nice in the, back of your hand,in your palm the smith wesson has the, standard a2 grip which has that little, indentation right there which is,uncomfortable a lot of times people end,up just changing that out anyhow so for, about the same price you you know if you,go with the ruger you already get that, upgraded grip which a lot of people are, going to like how that feels, the other thing is the sight, the magpul sight is a more well-known,sight its a you know its a great,flip-up option,so you get the the magpul sight on the, smith on the ruger you get the factory, ruger sight, the delta ring if youre looking to,change that hand guard out and youre, going to do it yourself at home its a,lot easier to unscrew this delta ring, and change that than it is to pull this, down, need an extra hand to get this apart so,having that on there is is a benefit to,the ruger and then, the, quick detach mount for your sling,a lot of guys nowadays dont tend to,like the, standard traditional style so you can, have that quick attach in the front and, then make a modification to the rear to,have a quick attach in the rear,to mount your sling not having the, standard a2 front post having these, serrations on here is a little bit nicer, too for cutting that glare down if,youre shooting outside you dont have,to worry about the sun glare and these, guns both like i said before these are, both state compliant guns standard guns, they would have collapsing mil-spec,buffer tubes and they would have a,bayonet lug and they would have a,threaded barrel with a flash

An Everyman’s AR? The Ruger AR-556 – Full Review.

Ruger has been known ever since I was a,kid and before that for delivering good, quality firearms at an affordable and, fair price this rifle absolutely, represents that perfectly so after my,pretty extensive testing with this Ruger,AR 556 Ive put somewhere in the, vicinity of 500 rounds through this, rifle and it has not had one single, failure Ive had it quite a variety of,ammunition everything from the, inexpensive steel case stuff to the, extremely expensive match grade stuff, and everything in between and it has, performed flawlessly and its performed, very good the accuracy has been very, impressive and very consistent with this, rifle and even in very bad conditions it,shot nice groups and in decent, conditions that shot extremely good, groups you put a real rifleman behind, this thing and you probably could you, could make ragged holes at a hundred, yards I have no doubt of that the AR,five five six is Reuters answered to the, market for an ar-15 from Ruger something, people have wondered for a long time if,it was ever going to happen its also, known as the model 8500 its chambered,in 5.56 nato and of course can still, fire two to three remington it is,essentially a mil spec rifle which is a,good thing, its got a 16 point one inch barrel half, inch by 28 thread pattern the right-hand,twist is one in eight weighs just about, six and a half pounds even overall, length of the rifle is between 32 and a,quarter thirty five and a half inches, and the whole thing comes in at a,suggested retail price of seven hundred, ninety nine dollars, again it is a milspec rifle in some, cases there are no frills the barrel is,not a lined barrel the finish on the, entire rifle is a type 3 hard coat, anodized and appears to be a good, quality finish alright lets look at the, basics the rifle comes equipped with a,flip-up rear sight which is,automatically paired with your front, sight which is fixed both are somewhat, adjustable the front sight is adjustable, for elevation rear sight is adjustable, for windage you also have a fairly, generous amount of Picatinny rail right,in front of that rear sight and if,necessary if you need more the rear, sight can be removed so you can mount a,scope or another optic the front sight, post on the rifle is milled from, aluminum billet its very high quality,it also includes a QD socket and a,bayonet lug so nicely serrated at the, ramp for no glare this is basically, equipped out of the box to be your,entry-level AR rifle but nicely so the,you know the handguard is very basic but,you do have some pic rail right up at,the top of the receiver you do have your, flip up sights provided flip-up rear, sight which is removable so that you can,put a full sized scope as I did do and,you can put another optic or whatever if,you want that front sight post is milled, from billet which is a nice touch and,has a bayonet lug on the bottom case you, need to have that whats missing is a,little bit of extra Picatinny rail you, know there are things you can do there, are options and so you could certainly, change that out relatively inexpensively, one of the other things about this rifle,is you know it is a milspec,so it does come with that single-stage,milspec trigger which equals heavy and a,bit gritty but again that is par for the, course with milspec you could drop in a,better trigger and you know make this a,real shooter if you want to but you, dont have to pay that price upfront so,for a relatively inexpensive rifle right, off the bat you have extremely good, quality its a good shooter I didnt, have any problem putting a good group, downrange I did some 100-yard testing on,more than one occasion the first day was, under some pretty tough conditions with, blustery winds gusting to over 30 miles,an hour in all kinds of random, directions that would be a challenge for, even a Trophy winning rifle shooter let, alone little old me,but Im still able to get the work done, and the groups were better than I,expected the winchester silver tip at,American Eagle ammo performed the best,in high winds both of them a 55 grain, bullet the next time I ventured out to,100 yards the conditions were much, better I tried some heavier match-grade,bullets this time and they produced fine, groups for the most part the Australian, outback with a 69 grain Sierra jacketed,hollow-point bullet produced the best, three shot group at 0.659 inches while, the Norma us a match at 77 grains, yielded the best five shot group at one, point two eight zero just barely over a,quarter inch and a quarter the aptly, named Burris AR 5.56 scope provided to,us by Burris was a big help, designed specifically for the AR,platform this scope has a 4.5 to 14,magnification range with a 42 millimeter, objective lens its clarity and good eye, relief made long shooting sessions, pretty comfortable this is really good,to go theres theres not much else so,you get your six position stock that, works very well is very functional its,got a sling mount already on it youve, got a mount position for a quick, disconnect out front for slings or by,pods or whatever else you need to put,out there so this rifle really does come, from Ruger pretty well-equipped to just,go right out of the box comes with one, thirty round mag pull PMAG the barrel is,not lined but it is a one and eight, twist to right-hand rifling and seems, very good seems very accurate the rifle,is well finished its well back, balance it feels good its comfortable,to shoot it is your basic AR but done, very well done extremely well like I say, about 500 rounds put through this rifle, and I could not make it,malfunction its fed and fired, everything and did so very well the SE,are five five six rifle shot really well, under pretty much every condition and, with every shooter they gave it a try, from me to a junior shooter to an even, more experienced gun competitor could, not make this rifle jammed couldnt make,it hang up it shot every kind of ammo I,fed it and shot everything very well the, buttstock on the rifle with an m4 style, its a six position and again buffer, tube is milspec the pistol grip is a,polymer its a fairly hard and mostly, smooth polymer could be a little nicer, and texture but economically it works, out pretty good the trigger is a,single-stage trigger its a milspec, trigger its a little gritty and its a,little heavy but is very consistent and,it provided me good accuracy the bolt, itself is machined from alloy steel its, shot peened and pressure tested should,be strong should have good integrity and, durability the inside diameter of the, bolt carrier and the gas key are both,chrome-lined,the gas key is of course staked and come,on seriously,is there anybody now whos not doing, this on the upper receiver we have the, usual fare we do have a forward assist, and we have a brass deflector the delta, ring on this rifle has a unique design, and its actually patent-pending I,believe and it requires only two hands,to operate and you simply unthread the,Delta ring rather than have a pull down, hand on thread and all that good stuff, flashhider on the rifle is a typical a2,style flash hider nothing out of the, ordinary there and the charging handle,is of course just a regular charging, handle but like almost every component,of this rifle its stamped with the,Ruger logo I definitely would recommend, this for anyone looking for their first,AR were looking for an AR thats maybe, that sort of bass platform that they, want to do something with very nice, rifle suggested retail for this rifle, with 799 I have a feeling that if you go,out and visit your local gun shop and, theyve got some on the Shelf you, probably are going to find it cheaper, than that so Ruger has been known ever, since I was a kid and before that for, delivering good quality firearms at an,affordable and fair price this rifle, absolutely represents that perfectly,[Music],[Music],you,[Music],[Music],you,[Music]
