Ruger Max-9
it got 45 here oh i dont have a firearm,do i oh yes i do,its in my pocket and its a max 9,and im going to shoot it hows that, yeah man, whoa we launched that rock, falling pins i missed a bowling pin how,did i do that wheres that other mag,ive got one yes there it is 10 no that, one has 12 rounds,or if i put 12 in it i smoked some pot,got away from me there we go nope there,we go,smoked him on the ground,uh lets hit that tree limb lets go,im gonna have to improve my shooting, rather right,oh man so yeah this is a max 9 from, ruger, and uh we just just got it its just out,and you probably heard all about it but,uh thought we would shoot it and let you, know what we think, this is a class of firearms uh you know, that i have a strong interest,in uh you know pocket, nines like this especially if they hold,10 rounds, with a flush magazine okay you get,a 12 round mag 10 round mag and i,generally prefer the flush mag depending,on the length of the grip,i mean thats the advantage of a little, gun,it can be a pocket gun if you put a,gigantic magazine in it becomes a bigger, gun, sometimes thats okay it still fits, where you want to carry it,and you might want to carry it on your, belt but uh yeah,i im impressed with little guns that i,can shoot, well at least well enough, and uh you know they they basically uh,are real guns but theyre small enough,uh to put your pocket, carrying your belt what are you gonna do,with it okay so,lets uh lets load up again ill tell, you a little bit about it i just was, real i was a little distracted here you, noticed i realized, the breakdown on this i was going to,bring out a tool to break it down i,might have a tool, well see but uh it it it is,i basically ill put the lc9 over here, see its basically a blown-up version,of the lc9 which breaks down the same, way you got that pin deal, and everything its been widened a,little bit,and beefed up a little bit and holds uh,you know,10 rounds in the flush mag whereas the,lc-9,held seven okay so thats the difference, big the biggest difference and of course, youve got the optic plates you can take, off put an optic on it and, even co-witness perhaps its got sites, that are fairly high, its got a fiber optic front side that, also has tritium in it so you get,a night sight nice front sight and this, one pretty pretty cool gun,for 4.99 and im sure once theyre out, there, and more plentiful and the firearms, apocalypse, ends if that ever happens uh,theyll be probably priced a lot about a,lot but lower than that, you know you know how those go as people, start buying them, and big numbers like the shield gosh is,some, embarrassingly low prices for some of,these really good guns,uh so i and rugers pretty well known, for having very reasonable prices,so thats kind of what you got in a,nutshell and of course we appreciate,budsgunshop.com we got this from them, and uh you know to try out i requested,it because i was seeing it around, and uh and that ruger had it and was, offering it,and was very interested in trying it so,we appreciate their help in those, federal of course for providing a,wonderful ammo,to to try it out federal premium and, then dont forget the sonoran desert,institute,sdi.edu distance learning you could get,on the road to becoming a gunsmith from,a distance, you got hands-on of course as well too,but check them out,sdi.edu and we dont have a,suppressor ready version of it with a,threaded barrel maybe later but we do,also appreciate the,sciencercentral.com where you can, pick out a suppressor that will fit your, needs and theyll take care of most of,the legwork for you,and then ship it to you so we appreciate, their help,uh suppressor thats what it needs a,suppressor about that long and that, little pistol does,so yeah i got a bunch of other guns out,im not going to,you know spend 30 minutes of course i,would say that dont i,comparing with every other gun out here,i think well do a video on,the micro nine quote unquote the, micro compact and kind of get into all,of them okay,i even have a shield that just got and, havent really even fired it i guess,uh yet and so uh so we will include all,of these, and talk a lot about all of them uh here,in the near future actually, before i send back this or the shield, and some of that but i want to give you, just a brief overview, and how it compares okay with these, other firearms, first and foremost i guess you know like,i said the lc9 you may be familiar with, and these are nice guns,uh they really are they hold like seven, flush,im talking flush mags you get extended, mags for a lot of different guns but for, that glock,26 lying over there i can get a 33 mag, thatll work in it right,i kind of judge these by the the flush, magazine how many it holds, and so it holds seven in flush mag and, those are nice they really are,and actually more streamlined than the,max 9 you know on the slide and, everything not quite as wide, and thick and its lighter a little bit, lighter okay,so but when you beef it up you can uh,you know its easier to have the plate, and have the, optic you know mount back there and of,course you with a little bit of beefing,up in the grip and you dont really, notice it much,i still like a little thicker grip uh,but you know you get, nine rounds you get a magazine youll, hold one okay and of course,i got the p365 out here ive got the, hellcat and ive got the, shield plus just for kind of a quick,uh you know comparison and ill tell you, what ill do ill go ahead and give you,the weights, and ill do just a little bit of,demonstration of the thickness maybe if,theres, not a lot of difference really and i got,a little cheat sheet here on the weights,so listen carefully and you can rewind, this,if we start with the heaviest gun the, glock 26,this is kind of where it all started in,a way right this is a nice gun holst 10,flush magazine, still a very popular gun but these all,do kind of the same thing in a,less weight but it weighs 21 and 5 8,ounces by my scale, okay the lc-9 now dropping to the, lightest one the yeah this is where, the max 9 began basically the lc9 is 17,and a half ounces, okay 17.5 by my scale, max 9 is 18 and 3 8 ounces,18 and 3 8. the hellcat guess what,is exactly the same 18 and 3 8 ounces, okay and then we get the p365,it is 18 and 5 now its almost the same, thing, all right and then when you move into, the shield, which ive not even fired that he has i,guess thats the shield plus,it is 20 and a quarter thats all with a,flush mag, empty flush mag okay 20 and a quarter,so that gives you an idea on the weight, okay i was going to hide my cheat sheet, and act like i had all that in my head, but you would have known better than, that right,so let me shoot it again and then ill,uh ill talk a little bit about, thickness and that sort of thing and, again youve got lets get the right gun, youve got your optic sight night sight,uh just blackout rear sight which, you know a lot of people like you got, nice separations on it,being a little thicker it is easier to,grab and and manage,uh pretty nice grip i would need a wrap, around a talon grip, something on that its it triggers you, know as you can tell by looking at it,its, looks just like the lc9 doesnt the, trigger, and uh it feels kind of like nothing to,write home about but its not bad,its not bad i was having a little, trouble i dont know i was kind of,pulling to the right or left with it,its a thin, kind of a finish gun and im not shy a,whole lot so,let me run any of that shoot a little, bit more okay i had it in the holster, yeah i had a pocket holster guess what, this will give you an idea,on thickness and size wheres my hellcat, there the head cat im sorry, didnt mean to curse at you so this is,actually,h cat so thats how i keep up with my,holster uh,this is for the hellcat which is,unloaded of course all these are,uh it fits in there pretty well, that gives you an idea okay a little, tighter a little thicker but,but not a lot okay so uh,yeah so thats kind of where it fits, ill stick it in my pocket this time, lets make it ready and take a shot okay,im gonna see if i can really
Ruger MAX-9 Review | 10+1 9mm Capacity
– Today, were taking a look at the Ruger MAX-9.,Rugers Micro-Compact 9 that holds 11 rounds.,Lets get into it.,(logo whooshing),Whats going on?,Luke from USA Carry here, and I finally got my hands on a Ruger MAX-9.,This is the last Micro-Compact 9 that I hadnt shot.,When I say Micro-Compact 9,,Im talking about pistols in this size, but also have the higher round count like the Ruger MAX-9,,the Springfield Armory Hellcat, SIG 365,,and the Taurus GX4, I think thats it.,There are other pistols this size, but they dont have the higher round count.,The 10 plus one, or 11 plus one rounds like these.,So these are the only ones Im talking about.,So this is the Ruger MAX-9,,comes with a standard 10 round mag, giving you 11 rounds total, when youre carrying with one in the chamber, as you should,,if youre carrying concealed.,It also comes with a pinky extension, which I put on the standard magazine right when I got it.,Thats not part of the gun,,that may potentially print when Im carrying concealed,,so I always use a pinky extension on these size pistols,so I can get a full grip.,It also comes with a 12 round extended magazine,,giving you 13 rounds total.,If I were to carry this gun concealed,,Id probably carry it with the extended magazine.,My daily everyday carry gun is a Glock 48,with the shield arms, 15 round mag.,And as you can see,,its roughly about the same size as the Glock 48,with the extended mag,,and I have no problem concealing the Glock 48.,So thats probably how I would carry it,to give me a couple extra rounds.,One of the features I like the most, about the Ruger MAX-9 line of pistols,is that every single model is optic ready.,So you dont have to pick one or the other,,and you dont have to pay more for the optic ready model.,Ive said before,,I think all concealed carry pistols, should just come optic ready these days.,And thats what Ruger did here.,That said, it seems to have a slightly different footprint, than the Shield sights RMSc footprint,,because I believe theres 15 models of red dots, that you can mount directly to the slide.,And for this review, I use the Holosun 507K,and lets see if I can get this on camera.,So this is a Springfield Armory Hellcat, and this is the Ruger MAX-9.,You can see the front recoil lugs, are just slightly different shaped, but also it doesnt have the rear recoil lugs, which that allows you to put the Holosun on it,in like I said, 15 other models,,and Ill pop that up on the screen here.,So I think thats pretty awesome.,You dont have to go out and buy a plate or anything,,or do any modifications like the Glock 48.,You can modify the rear lugs,to where you can mount the Holosun 507Ks to em.,For sights youve got a drift adjustable, blacked out rear sight, that also co-witnesses with your front sight,,with the red dot.,And youve got a Tritium fiber optic front sight,,usually something like that is an upgrade, that youre gonna have to pay more for,but it comes standard with all MAX-9 models.,Youve got a through hardened alloy steel slide, that has serrations on the front and the rear, and also has some corner cuts toward the front, that probably cuts a little bit of the weight off,,looks kind of cool too.,The barrel is 3.2 inches and hammer-forged,which might help with accuracy.,Might be a little overkill for a pistol like this,,but hey, Ill take it.,It also has a small hole in the top,so you can check to see if the chamber is loaded or not.,I like the grip on this gun.,When I first picked it up,,it just feels thinner than some of the other pistols,,because it is slightly thinner, and it kind of just feels like a Ruger.,I dont know how to technically explain that, but it just kind of feels like a Ruger.,I like it.,I feel like its pretty streamlined,,like everythings pretty flat,,you dont have any bulges or anything,,you have a small groove here for your fingers,,but other than that, everythings nice and flat, compared to say the Hellcat,,youve got some concave and some bulges, for finger grooves and whatnot.,Not that I dont like the Hellcat, but I do like the feel of the Ruger,,it feels very good in my hand.,I like it.,Youve got the skateboard kind of texture,,microdot texture on the grips, that a lot of guns are coming with.,Youve got that on the side, back, front,,and the magazines also have it.,So youve got that same grip on the front, and a little bit on the sides.,The trigger guard has an undercut,to allow you to get your middle finger higher on the grip,,which I like the way that feels.,I was trying to look at some of the other pistols, and see the differences.,You notice has the undercut,,it goes up and then it kind of tapers out.,Unlike the Hellcat, youve got the finger groove,,but its not as tapered as much.,So I think thats another thing that it feels good, when its sitting on my knuckle versus the Hellcat,,almost feels a little jammed in there.,Again, dont have a problem with the Hellcat, but I do like the feel of the Ruger MAX-9,,just feels really good in my hand.,Pretty sure I said that already.,The controls on a Ruger MAX-9 are really nice.,Youve got a little minimal slide stop, thats sitting in this little pocket.,Doesnt bulge out too much, but it also is easy to hit.,I didnt have to go over the top,to rack the slide back on a reload or anything,,I was able to just quickly hit the slide stop,,Im probably running some video over the top of this,so you can see that.,This model that I got sent does have the manual safety.,If I were to carry this gun, I would choose the model, that does not have the manual safety, and that model is called the pro model,,same price, same exact features as this model,,it just has a manual safety and the other one doesnt.,Your magazine release is pretty minimal too,,its got a little bit of serrations on it.,I had no problem doing reloads with that.,You can also swap it to the other side,so that its ambidextrous.,Now on the left side, youve got your takedown pin,,which is covered by this little takedown window.,So the takedown process is a little different, Id say,,youve got a little opening here on this side,,so you need to have some kind of tool.,They say like a paperclip or something like that.,I used a little tiny hex bit,,pushed it in through and pull it out the other side.,Im not crazy about having to have a tool to take it down, but its not that bad once you just put that window down,,but remember to put the window back up,because I didnt when I was first taking it down, and I was doing some dry firing and the slide seized, and I was kind of trying to figure out what happened, and the window was down.,And when I was doing dry fire,,it worked the pin out just a little bit,and stopped the slide from going back and forth.,So just remember to keep that window up,after you clean it, disassemble it,,and put it back together.,And lastly, youve got some serrations,on the front of the trigger guard,,I guess for people that hold it with their index finger, wrapped around that, I dont shoot like that,,so whatever, but its there if thats how you shoot.,So Im gonna throw some specs on the screen here,of how it compares to the other Micro-Compact 9s,that I mentioned at the beginning of the article.,As you can see, its on par with all the others,,except the Hellcat, which has 11 rounds plus one.,This is 10 plus one,,the width, the height, and everything,,the weight is all pretty much the same.,It comes in in an MSRP of $559,,which is a great price for the pistol, and the features youre getting,,again, youre getting a Tridium front sight,,its cut for an optic,,you get a standard mag, you get a pinky extension,,you get an extended mag, so not bad for $559.,Next up, how did it shoot?,I can say that I did have fun shooting this gun,,it wasnt too snappy.,Some of these Micro-Compact 9s can be a little snappy, but I dont know if Im getting used to it or not,,but its not that bad.,You can see the results of the recoil meter test, that I used with the Mantis X to see how far it went back, and how quickly I got back on target.,To do th

Ruger Max-9 Review – These arent the droids youre looking for
the ruger max 9 is the answer to the sig, sauer p365 and his rugers entrance into, the micro compact 9,arena and on paper they make a really, big splash with some of the best, features,in the best price point and if you just,go buy the pictures on the website in,the spec sheet, the max 9 comes with some of the best, features in the segment at arguably the, best price,in the segment but then you have to sit, back and remember the ruger american, pistol, kind of an also ran that ruger put out, that didnt really do anything, particularly spectacular and then they, updated that with their ruger american, pistol competition,uh which is a strange choice of a name, and nobody really seemed to notice so,then you have to wonder,is the max 9 all that its cracked up to,be,its not im david with the humble, marksman channel are you ready, stand by,welcome back to the channel guys i wish,i could be more excited to be talking to,you about the ruger max,9 and i was really excited about this, gun when i saw the feature set that they, put on this pistol to get one in my,hands and do a review on it and im not, going to sugarcoat this for you this is,going to be a negative review, this pistol had to go back to the, factory at ruger because it had two, issues but well get into that later, after we get through sort of the, overview of the pistol and the fact that,i had to send this back for warranty, work and im not gonna say like, the thing is dodgy and all of them have, questionable quality,no im just not going to recommend this, for other reasons that well get into, later, but while were on the topic i have to,give ruger customer service a shout out, those guys are unbelievable, this pistol went into their warranty, department uh it was out of my,possession for a total of nine days,it was about two days out and two days, back so they got through this thing, real fast thats nearly the best, customer service ive got, very much so for a production style, pistol so before you join the ranks of,all the people on the internet who, comment that theyre never going to,watch my content again,be sure and hit that like button on the,way down to the next video,it annoys some of you but i have to do,it this is what the pistol looks like in,my hand, and this is what it looks like on the, website so my youtube manual reviewer, you can see that the gun is unmodified,it is stock, this is the pinnacle of advertiser, friendly content, and yes i do have to throw that in i,need the video to be ad friendly because,i bought this pistol uh is about 480,dollars at my local shield so its nice, when you can help, almost break it in on a video so getting, into the specs on this pistol theyve, got, three skus so far one of them is a pro, model that doesnt have the manual, safety you see here and its 4.99,theres the model i have here with the,10 and 12 round mags which is 4.99 and, theyve got i think a 10 round, compliant version that is also 4.99 the, pistol is a micro compact which means, its going to compete head to head with, like the sig sauer,p365 the taurus gx4 the springfield, armory hellcat that,s w shield plus and whatever else comes, out between now and then, unlike most ruger pistols this actually, comes with two magazines it came with a,10 round flush fit plus a pinky, extension so i put the pinky extension,on there,as well as a 12 round magazine and i,have to say, these magazines have the same aggressive, taper as the p365,so i know that once sig is done suing, springfield armory theyre probably, going to send cease and desist letters,to ruger as well,if i had to guess i was really excited,to see that the magazines sell for a,very reasonable price you can get a two, pack of these magazines for about fifty, dollars which makes the magazines about, twenty five dollars a piece which for, these micro compacts,is an awesome feature the magazines are, super high quality i talk a lot about, magazines because its about the number, one feature that contributes to a pistol, running reliably, and these magazines are very very high, quality i had absolutely no issues with, them,so good to see that ruger is making,top-notch mags the actual grip, and texture is just kind of okay uh,it feels very blocky in hand almost like,a hellcat but somehow, kind of worse the trigger guard is a,little bit relieved allowing you good, purchase up underneath the pistol, but its just something about the angle,of the trigger guard, the shape of the back strap it just, doesnt uh,it doesnt sit too well in my hands it,its not bad the texture i mean they, call it a medium texture i would, honestly call,it a light texture its not going to,tear up your stomach or catch your, undergarment when youre concealed, carrying an,inside the waistband holster but its, also not going to stay super planted in,your hand if your hands are sweaty or,moist for whatever reason yes i use that, word on purpose, the mag release is fairly low profile, but it works exactly like its supposed,to and you can get at it without, tearing up your firing grip too much, although for a gun this small i dont, really worry about that too much, the manual safety theyve got is only on,the left side of the pistol so i would,be just as happy to not have it,right-handed shooters could sweep the, safety as they present the pistol, and carry it cocked and locked as it,were but since its not an ambi safety,i dont particularly care for it if it,were ambi i would use the safety and, love it but single-sided safeties, arent my favorite the slide stop and,im gonna call it a stop and not a,release uh you can release the slide, with it its just, very difficult to do its honestly not, small enough,it projects a little bit too much and, that causes some issues well get into, that once we go negative and you hate my,guts forever and the, takedown on the pistol is kind of goofy, now i cant show you how to disassemble, the gun thats not allowed on youtube, but,i can tell you how its done and you do,that by pulling the slide, just out of battery to line up the top,of this little hole with this little pin,you see inside this trap door, and then you just use a punch or,something like that to push through this, little hole right there,it pops out a pin and then the slide, comes off the frame,no problem i dont love the fact that it,takes a tool other than just a piece of,brass,to field strip but for a concealed carry, gun i really dont think its the end of,the world, but where it really starts to get, exciting on the max 9 is when you get up,to the slide,it looks fairly unassuming it has a,black oxidized slide finish,it doesnt look super great it doesnt, look as high quality as,like a dlc coating would but im sure, itll probably, keep the gun from rusting like a champ, which is all its supposed to do and so,thats fine, these slide serrations are functional, they are not bad at all they do exactly, what theyre supposed to but then you,get to the top of the gun and thats, where it gets, really exciting they give you a tfo, front sight which if you listen to the, casual internet is the best sights you,can put on a concealed carry gun i dont, necessarily, agree with that but its still a very, good sight and what that means,is it has a fiber optic front sight with,a tritium vial behind it so in the, daylight the, fiber optic is going to catch a bunch of,light and glow on the front of your gun, whereas once its nighttime the tritium, lamp is going to illuminate the fiber, optic and the fiber optic is going to,further, gather any light that is available to,make the front sight stand out a little, bit more, and it certainly does do its job in dark, environments but the most exciting part,is this blacked out target rear they, have that,is made to co-witness with the optics, mount that they have here they have a,pocket milled into the slide they can, accept, something like 15 optics right now, basically its all the optics that are, built around the shield rmsc footprint,so its gonna be like your holosun 407k,507k sig romeo zero swamp fox sentinel, those kinds of optics are all gonna fit,on this gun no problem, and i did shoot this g

Ruger Max-9 VS Sig P365 – TheFirearmGuy
hey there friends thanks for checking in,at the range today and were going to do,a range comparison with the sig p365 and,the ruger max 9. the p365 has been, around a lot longer many of you know, that the max 9s been around a couple, years now but they measure up very close,3.2 inch barrel on the right with, the max 9 3.1 inch barrel with the p365,both have 12 round magazines in there, both way right around 24 ounces, loaded with 12 rounds lets start with, the max 9. when ruger came out with this,a lot of people were happy they included,a 12 and a 10 round mag, currently, thats all you can get for that, but for this,it has an integrated barrel bushing, right there okay we see that with some,of their other models all of the max, nines come optic ready for 14 different, optics i currently have a sightmark mini, shot on there i had that on there for a,while now so this has an optic the sig, doesnt, fiber optic tritium front, sight, serrated black rear sight forward, serrations a trigger that im measuring, right at five pounds, with the reset right there the biggest, complaint with the max 9 is the, disassemble you have to lower that gate, right there, and then punch a pin out a lot of people, said, thats a little too complicated you can, lose the pin and all thats true, but, you know,i typically disassemble when,im at home but i understand you may, have to do that at the range but lets,go ahead and take a few shots they also, cost around the same,im going to talk about the p365 and the, costs associated with that but here we,go with the max 9,[Music],and that was i believe 10 shots, the max 9 ive always enjoyed it ive, compared it with,a couple other handguns and i i think, its a quality made handgun,uh ruger has a fine reputation and i,think they increased it with the max 9.,and i like it that all of them are optic, ready now from its launch it had right, around an msrp of 500,that has increased like so many, manufacturers have done but you know i,think its worth it i think they did a,very nice job and that 10 round magazine, sits flush for those who want the, smallest grip when carrying, the trigger does have a trigger bar, safety, but overall,i think the max 9 is a fine handgun but,now we have the p365 you may notice that, this one has a flat face trigger thats, called an x trigger now the p365x,is optic ready this is not,so,im not going to give the advantage to,the ruger because they now make it but, with the,p365x,they include a sig romeo red dot on,there youre looking at right around, right around 800 a little more actually, but theyve expanded the line this i,bought with a tack pack comes with, three 12-round magazines and a holster, thats not that great,it does have sig light night sight so,and i think that is a bonus and i think, that, when you include night sights in the, case,i like that okay glock are you listening,i know some of your models not most do,not but anyways the flat trigger breaks, right at,five and a quarter pounds, already mentioned 24 ounces loaded, with 12 rounds so the weights the same, the size is essentially the same, shooting impressions lets see how this, goes i have to believe i i,shot faster or i will have shot faster, with, the max 9 because i had the red dot on,there you know im trying to keep it as,level as possible im not going to take, out off the red dot for this review but, here we go,[Music],that target over there, gave me a few issues, but that was 100,on me,the p365 has a very simple disassemble, and it,is very popular amongst the ccw world, its been around longer sid claims they, made the,the gun around the mag at the time it,was a 10 round mag now they have 12,rounds even 15 round mags for it so,sig has expanded of course they have the,xl model maybe ruger will do the same in,the future make a a four inch barrel a,3.7 inch barrel the way springfield did,it also has forward serrations, and right around the same weight,so youve got an easier disassemble here, youve got a little more disassemble, here but they all come optic ready so,both have their pros and cons to it and, that stands true with just about any, handgun that you, review or any review that you have seen,on youtube which one would i choose if,this was, optic ready and im not im not a major, optic guy most of my optic ready, handguns do not have optics on there, ive got probably eight that have optics,on there but i like it that thats, available on every max 9 they also make, them with a thumb safety, same with sig with the p365 they also, make them with a thumb safety so thumb, safety guys can have their choice, anyways,i like it out of the gate i like to,disassemble with the p365,the overall feel, not a great difference i think the build, quality is a little bit better no wobble,in the slide, little little wobble there does it make,a difference i havent noticed,a little bit less cost you know you add,the red dot its still a little bit less, than the p365 but im going to get to it,now if i had to choose one with the, optic ready i would go with the p365 all, things included, however,if price was an issue, and it always is lets face it ill go,with the max 9 no problem i i love this, handgun i think its a phenomenal, handgun i think they both are but what i,really want to know is which one would, you choose,if you like videos like this please, subscribe and share i always appreciate, thumbs up button thanks for watching and,you guys be safe
5 Reasons The Ruger Max-9 Is The Best Concealed Carry Gun Ruger Makes
my first concealed carry gun was the, ruger sr9c,it held 10 rounds with the flush, magazine and 17 rounds with an extended, magazine,in what was a small package however if,the ruger sr9c came out today, wed call it a full-sized gun compared,to the spade of micro compact guns that, have hit the market, and now we have the ruger max 9.,if their website didnt give it away i,worked with ruger on the marketing of,the max9,and i had no problem doing it because i,believe the ruger max 9 is the best, concealed carry handgun, ruger makes and here are the 5 reasons, why, price the first reason i believe the, ruger max 9 is the best concealed carry, handgun ruger makes,is price trying to buy a gun right now,is like trying to buy a house,in texas after all the people from, california have moved here, paying 30 percent over asking price and, paying in cash, like theyre moving keys through the, port of miami you can barely find a good, gun to buy,and if by chance you do the prices are, inflated like crazy, its calming down some but its still, pretty bad,the max 9 isnt immune to this price, height but youll be hard pressed to,find a max 9 over 500,at 500 the max 9 is far from being the, cheapest carry gun ruger makes but,it is consistently one of the cheapest, full fire powered micro compact guns,on the market size, the next reason is size unless were, talking about concealed carry,i typically want a bigger gun generally, speaking, bigger guns shoot better than smaller, guns but in the case of concealed carry, size is a balancing act you want a gun, small enough to hide easily, but not so small you hate shooting the,gun the max 9 has a 3.2 inch barrel, with a slide width of 0.95 inches,an overall height of 4.52 inches, and overall length of 6 inches long, story short, the max 9 is perfectly small meaning a,person with really big hands, will find the gun just short of being, too small, but the ability to conceal the ruger max,9 is flat out effortless, ruger makes smaller guns but youre not, going to want to go and shoot those guns,at the range for a long period of time, with a bunch of rounds through it,and i think its important that you, actually like shooting your everyday, carry concealed gun, because it means youll be more, proficient with the gun that you may, have to use to protect your life one day, capacity the next reason is capacity, like i said before the first concealed, carry gun i ever owned was a ruger sr9c,and it had a flush magazine capacity of,10 rounds and was almost twice the size,of the ruger max 9.,the security 9 compact is smaller than, the sr9c,and has 10 rounds but its bigger than, the max9,the max 9 has a flush magazine capacity,of 10 rounds and an extended capacity of,12 rounds, and the extended magazine doesnt add, that much length to the grip, there are other guns that are close to,the same size as the ruger max 9,that have an even higher capacity, granted they tend to be a little bit, more expensive, shootability my favorite reason why i,think the ruger max 9 is the best, concealed carry gun ruger ever made is,its shoot ability, flat out the max 9 runs, good god this thing runs shish, every time i shoot this gun i am,consistently blown away by how fast this, gun shoots,a lot of it has to do with the trigger, personally i think this is the best, trigger ruger has put in a gun,its smooth clean has a definable wall, and breaks neatly this in turn means, shooting this gun fast,is easy in your hand the max 9 feels, like a small gun but the gun seemingly, becomes bigger once you start shooting,it,if you shoot a full-size gun and then, immediately shoot the max 9,the gun is going to seem a little poppy, however if you let enough time pass, between shooting a bigger gun,and then shoot the ruger max 9 the, recoil sensation wont really stand out,to you at all,its not the softest shooting micro, compact gun but,the way it shoots is really enjoyable it,has a natural point of aim, unlike some of the other guns in its, class that may recoil ever so slightly, less, but their grip angle doesnt really make, for a natural point of aim to the degree, that the ruger max 9 does, features last but not least the reason i,believe the ruger max 9 is the best, concealed carry handgun theyve ever, made, are the features for a gun that sits, just under 500,during a time when gun prices are, inflated the amount of features the, ruger max 9 comes with,is insane the biggest feature being that, the max 9,is optics ready if youre new to the gun, space this may seem like, not that big of a deal but if youve, been in the gun space for a while, you remember the days when you had to,pay hundreds of dollars to get someone,to cut your slide for a red dot,the max 9 comes optic ready it also has, tritium fiber optic day night front, sights which,in the aftermarket would be hundreds of,dollars it has a cold hammer forged, barrel which if you know anything about, cold hammer forged barrels, and the type of accuracy you get with, them is a big deal,it has a frame mounted safety if you, want it and if you dont, they have versions that come without it,it also has a reversible magazine, release which essentially makes this gun, ambidextrous, these are the types of features you get,on guns at much higher price points, and here theyre on a gun that comes in,at less than five hundred dollars, which by todays standards is pretty low, personally i envy the people who are, just now getting in the guns,i remember when a micro sized gun 186,and as much as i loved the glock 26 we,all know that it was a little fatty, today there are some amazing full, firepower micro size guns on the market, and to me the ruger max 9 is not only, the best concealed carry gun ruger makes, but one of the best bang for your buck, micro compact size guns on the market,[Music],[Music],[Music],im sure the New Ruger Max 9 First Shots & Impressions (vs Shield Plus)
Springfield Hellcat vs Ruger Max 9 (Which One Is THE ONE?)
welcome to firearms of america today as,you guys can see im back here at,shooters before mars florida about to do,another comparison the ccc in comparison, yes wait no actually the ccc is already, includes the comparison because its, concealed carry comparison yes,and the comparison of very very two, options for a concealed carry we have, springfield, hellcat, wait a second yes this is hellcat, springfield and we have ruger max,9 and i mean these guys talk about like, identical guns check this out this is,like, pretty much the same thing almost the, same size, you can see a little bit of a difference, kind of uh in the grip but just because, the magazines are a little bit different, but once you actually remove the magnets, check this out there you go,its like who copied, who,i dont know, good question so,very very similar guys so which one, should you get which one of these,is better well let me give you a little, bit of specifications theyre both nine, millimeter the hellcat is a little bit,of a shorter barrel its a three inch, barrel 3.2 inch barrel in ruger max 9.,now in this particular setup that i have, over here i have a 12 capacity magazine, for the ruger and 11 capacity for, hellcat but hellcat does have 13,capacity magazines and 15 capacity, magazines so were not even going to,talk about the capacity whenever it,comes to its just pre because both of,them they can match uh each other and, outnumber each other all right so,overall we will talk about the features, well talk about the recoil well talk, about the grip and of course the sides, the trigger all of that sort of stuff so,lets put some uh five rounds into both,of these magazines and uh,lets uh,do some shooting actually you know what, lets start with three rounds in both so,that we can go through the first, firing session, faster, now, first one we have the springfield, magazine very easy to load, very nicely numbered on the back all the,way to 11 very good and nicely tapered,at the top so,for easier, faster, mag, replacement pretty good now we have uh,very nice even more so,let me actually take a,boat for ruger yes check this out i mean, this is,really really thinned out at the very, top okay, only uh number two to five and ten and, only on one side so whenever it comes to,the numbering and telling you how many, rounds you have in the magazine,uh springfield does a better job, although ruger is still very easy to,load and because its even more tapered,at the top you have very easy insertion,so,both of the guns are ready what were, going to do is as you can see the white,on the bottom and orange on the top so,lets do,springfield for the white on the bottom, and then the ruger is for the orange on,the top, see, which one i can do a,better job with ill start with, springfield, fairly easy to load, lets see how the trigger, where did i hit the target, much easier to load,uh to wreck the slide on the, ruger getting very low on the ruger why,am i hitting so low on the ruger, let me get another round here, and close that this is how we do it,okay so,i had to redeem myself,a little bit of a strange operation on,the ruger but well talk all about in a,moment so,lets start from the very beginning, lets start with the grip overall i have,to say i do like the grip more on the, hellcat its a little bit more, aggressive its a little bit of a,thicker grip not by a lot,but by,quite a little bit you know so whenever,it comes to the actual comfort of caring,as a concealed carry you will be more, comfortable to,carry the rubber just because it is,overruled, slimmer profile compared to the hellcat, but whenever it comes to the recoil, management its much easier to get a,better grip on the hellcat because its, thicker and also it has, more aggression this stippling is very, very nice i have to say they did a,really good job mimicking the, hand stippling because thats really the, best stippling that you can get so with, the laser stippling this is as close i,would say,as you can get to the hand stippling and,as you can see it goes throughout the, whole grip which is very nice extending, all the way here and even little gas, pedal at the very front for your, left hand, thumb or if youre, right, left handed, for your, right hand thumb so pretty good now on,the ruger a little bit of a lighter uh,stippling kind of very similar but just,a little bit smoother so not as much, aggression still very pleasant to the, touch especially because its kind of,slim not as much of a stippling though,uh you have some at the front you have, some at the back nothing here at the top,no gas pedal stippling, like that but you do have some, serrations here at the front of the, trigger guard and one thing you probably, noticed already right off the bat there,is no accessory rail no 1913 accessory, rail on the ruger but you do have some, here on the hellcat because it is,thicker and it actually allows for that, size so lets talk about the mag release,as you can see very nicely extended mag, release here not ambidextrous, very easy to catch works very very well, same thing with ruger not ambidextrous, but, kind of extended as well although it,does sit a little bit uh,flatter, speaking of the mag release we have a,very smooth for whatever reason theres, barely any aggression to this mag, release on the ruger and not micro leak, slide release and it is not ambidextrous, very very smooth i would say very, similar to glock slide release which is,trust me not another good thing, theyre very small very hard to catch a,little bit of a better slide release, here,on the uh,the hellcat as you can see just a little, bit easier to catch and uh,not one hand operation lets see the, ruger, yeah neither of these is one hand, operation which is,there this has a little bit of a weird, operation, its a trigger something something weird, there with the trigger okay so uh lets,uh talk about the slide now now over, here on the uh hellcat as you can see, some nice serrations at the back nice, versus the front this particular one, comes with the mos cutout if you want to,put, the optic also this particular one comes, with the manual safety switch which im,not really going to talk much about it,if you are if you want you know a safety, manual safety on your handgun there you,go you have it uh really there theres,so many versions of the hell kit out, there and the same thing with the ruger, max um you can with different magazine, capacity uh different you know with the, optic cutout without the optic cutout, with the manual safety without the, manual safety so you can find pretty, personalized okay for for yourself now, moving on to the ruger we have a little, bit more aggressive, slide serrations at the front at the, front and on the back which honestly i,do like quite more its good because it,makes it easier to catch, overall, both of these guns theyre not the, easiest to rack all right theyre not,the smoothest to rack, but you have to keep in mind that most,of the times with you know micro compact, handguns this is the this is going to be,the case because you have such a short, barrel obviously you need a heavier, spring in the guide rod to be able to,absorb all that energy from the recoil,so youre gonna be heavier youre gonna, have a heavier uh,slide two racks so,lets put some uh,three and three from both, and then we will uh,talk about the trigger, and the sides on both,uh i have to say i,do have already a preference for,the trigger well i thought i had the, preference for trigger, but then the battery trigger is still, kind of a weird trigger so,ill try to concentrate more, this time on the trigger and uh lets, see if i can hit the flippy pedals with, these probably not at all but ill try,why not, lets see,if im able to hit a flappy pedal with, one of these guns, thats a huge success, okay one hand operation whenever there,is around in the magazine great with the, ruger which is a huge plus lets see if,i can hit any of the fluffy pedals, yes, all right one out of three, now to shaving lets see if,its a one hand operation with this one,[Music],same thing one hand operation with uh,the round thats good,
