all right good morning everybody or is,it is it actually morning when youre,watching this anyways today I just,wanted to tell you guys about the tires,that Im running right now I think that,theyre the best tires best cheap tires,that your money can buy so I run a brand,called Sumitomo and I mean before that,sounds like a really cheap Chinese tire,let me give it some background Sumitomo,is actually Im saying it right its a,Japanese brand and its actually a sub,sector of Sumitomo Corporation they do a,lot of different things their tires are,really low price but theyre actually,really well made to give you kind of a,better scope of their credibility,I guess Sumitomo does make tires for,Dunlop as well they do some engineering,for the ones that I have on my car are,the Sumitomo HTR series these come in,all the different sizes honestly I dont,remember what the number was a minor 225,wide 45 aspect ratio size making the,transformation to these from the old,economy tires that came with this car,when I bought it,the difference was huge I mean both of,the tires were all seasons these ones,are all seasons and the previous ones,were also probably more general all,seasons these ones are considered,high-performance whatever thats,supposed to mean,but again the difference has been huge,with these the performance benefits they,stick really well on acceleration they,have a lot of lateral stability for,cornering and theyre also really quiet,I think the fuel economy is probably a,little bit worse because the rolling,resistance may not be as good as a,general economy tire because this is,considered a performance all-season tire,but it hasnt been its probably,negligible probably lost a one mile per,gallon or so funny story actually when I,first bought these I was looking around,and all the other tires were like $100,apiece and the reviews were all pretty,good and then I stumbled upon these they,were $65 a piece and I know Im I I know,tires I know cars you should never buy,cheap tires if you have anything less,than $100 usually the saying is you got,really crappy tires on your car but I,looked at these and they had the same,kind of reviews as like michelins and,the Continentals so I read into a little,bit more I did some research on them and,found out that theyre actually a pretty,good tire as soon as I was driving away,from the shop that installed them for me,I kind of thought I had made a mistake,because the wheels felt really sloppy,so the tires felt really sloppy and,everything kind of felt heavier and,slower and and bogged down,turns out the shop had only filled them,up to like 30 psi so as soon as I aired,them up to about 40 which seemed to be,an ideal number I think the maximum is,about 52 psi on these the performance,benefits were just huge I mean I thought,I was driving a whole different car,tires are probably one of the single,best modifications that you can do for,your cars performance longer break even,right now when Im driving around I wish,I could better remember what the old,tires sounded like but they were a,little bit louder theres a lot more,road noise to him even though they were,a 65 aspect ratio which meant there was,more thickness of the tire between the,wheel and the wheel well right now these,are 20 less which is kind of surprising,that theyre actually a lot quieter its,its its actually kind of convenient,when youre going down the highway with,no music on or just kind of rolling,around you dont really hear that road,feedback as much,my steering wait got a lot heavier as,well which that may be good to some,people might be bad to some people,personally I like the heavier steering,week because it makes it feel a little,bit sporty whenever you turn your,steering wheel just a tad itll kind of,jolt in that direction as opposed to the,economy tires that I used to have it,would kind of ease into it you could,tell there was some hesitation by the,tires moving so I kind of already,mentioned the acceleration benefits of,these but the tread the tread is just,fantastic on these Ive got about ten,thousand miles on them so the treads not,as good as it was when it was new but it,still holds its ground pretty well,heres a quick little video clip of the,tire its got some handsome tread to it,you can consider tread handsome,and that actually kind of leads me into,shifting to the tread wear which $64.00,tires you probably wouldnt expect the,tread wear to be that that long and its,not being honest I dont think these are,gonna last over 30,000 miles which is,about average for tires but my previous,economy tires had 25,000 miles on them,and they still werent even halfway done,with their life according to the service,mechanics so in this case I would think,you get what you pay for its a cheaper,tire really good performance benefits,but they probably wont last as long so,in my mind Im thinking you could buy a,hundred and twenty dollar tires that,probably do the same thing but lasts,twice as long or you could buy these,cheap ones every a little bit more often,and you get the same benefits so these,tires I check it out if youre on a,little bit of a budget trying to find,new tires that you just got wheels and,you dont feel like spending a lot of,money on tires Ive give these ones a,look at least do some research on them I,would approve of them I think that,theyre really good I mean Ive all right big ball hitches here with a,review of the Sumitomo encounter HT we,put these on my sons 4runner here and,he was wanting they uh he said he didnt,want to spend a whole lot of money on,tires and what he had on here was a 245,60 20 that was a stock tire I think they,were the Yokohamas so I got looking at,them and pricing them and they were over,$300 and he didnt want to spend that,kind of money which I dont blame him so,I got online and was looking at the,reviews of this CIMMYT um oh and it has,some really good reviews and when we,priced them at a local tire shop just a,little over $200 man some over to and I,think the total was six hundred and,fifty dollars for set a four so we got,we got these and theyve been some,pretty good tires they came in with like,fourteen thirty second of tread and hes,got about 15,000 miles on them and well,put this gage old here and step around,30 seconds,so theyre about oh there we go 12 30,second and they came in when we bought,him live his fourteen thirty second and,so there werent pretty good to thirty,seconds so treated gone with fifteen,thousand miles thats not too bad,the right omen was really good that good,in the in the rain we havent had any,snow here in North Carolina yet but I,know well get them but these are a,really good looking tire hes had,several compliments on Ill show you the,tread on these things I mean they they,really look good the tire is sort of you,know its they call it a highway how we,treated but I mean to me I mean its not,all terrain but its I think its just,about all terrain I think they were,doing really good there I liked him so,much that I actually put them on my Ford,Escape here these have got about a,thousand miles on them theyre a little,bit smaller tire of course a 16-inch but,I like the tread of them of course its,not all terrain Ive had some Firestone,destinations on this thing they did okay,they started cupping after after about,twenty five thousand miles but I like,these these I like to say they Ive,taken these out in the rain on these on,this Ford Escape they do really good I,really like that tired of the only thing,I wish I wish that they had the you know,the option of getting white letters I,had white letters on this escape and I,really liked the white letters but you,know it is what it is were lucky were,good with the black walls but I like,these I really like these tires in some,us that that I will probably put them on,my Ram 2500,Ill have to go to a smaller size Im,not into big tires this is a 285 60 20,and I would have to go to a 275 65 20,thats the only thing that they have,available but I will more than likely of,course Ill have to go to a team player,ten ply because I pull the camper but I,seriously think about going to them on,this Ram when these were out with you,believe it or not the it aint too far I,got 13,000 miles on this truck this is a,firestone trends for us 18 yeah Ive got,13,000 miles on this truck its 2018 and,these things are are getting down not in,my opinion thats not a good tire but,you know like I say I really like these,these Sumitomo is I mean they really,look good I dont think you can go wrong,hes had several people come up to him,and ask him where he got these tires so,you know if youre looking for a cheap,good tire I would say hey try them out,Ill you know I dont have any gripes,about them and they theyve been pretty,good so just you know try them try them,out see how you like them thats what I,thats what Im doing now and so far so,good and if yall any yall out into a,shackle hitches Ive got these all my,vehicles right here 35 10 13 and a half,tuned and thats the twelve ten just,just give us a shout out you go on my,website eight ball hitches dot-com thank,you
