LET THEM ALL TALK Movie Review **SPOILER ALERT**

[Music],thats nick, and thats joseph and today were here,to talk about let them all talk, well or im here to talk about it uh aka,the fall of 2019 the latest film, directed by stephen soderbergh which, will be available on hbo max as of,december 10 2020. the fall of 2019.,its the title card of the film is let, them all talk aka,the fall oh okay yeah i have no idea, what this is about,so why dont you i know you missed out,on i had intentions to watch it but the, screening link had an expiration date, and im very busy,uh so who directed it stephen soderbergh, what do i know them from,oh god uh sex lies in videotape nope, behind the candelabra oh okay uh the, informants, thats good uh contagious oh i did watch, that we made a video about that, lots and lots of films um this is,probably the first, film that ive after watching i felt, kind of reinvigorated about him for, after his self-imposing,retirement okay in 2013 because i didnt, like, logan lucky unsane was okay high flying, bird was okay, the laundromat which meryl streep also, stars in and brown face,um was had some interesting things in it,but this one like i came away, quite pleasantly surprised let them eat, cake thats what its called let them, all talk let them all talk uh,the comedy id say its more of a drama, okay uh so it,the script was written by deborah, eisenberg but uh,soderbergh has said that he just kind of,used the concept of the script and most,of the dialogue was improvised,by the cast and it filmed uh on the, queen mary 2,on a transatlantic uh trip to,the uk who are the main stars so meryl, streep, stars as alice hughes this notable, author,it opens with her uh well who else is in,it,diane wiest candice bergen gemma chan,uh luke evans oh luke evans, sorry luke hedges oh lucas hedges um oh,leonardo dicaprios friend, lucas hedges is he the one with the, gears,no thats lucas haws oh lucas hedges you, just saw on french exit, with michelle milshell vivers son in,french oh hes also in,uh waves and uh,ladybird and im sorry ben is back, anyway jesus uh anyway meryl streep,uh she we simultaneously learn,uh shes meeting her new agent karen, played by gemma chan, her uh sonia her old agent has retired, and shes very upset about that,uh she is has been working on a new, manuscript that her publisher is,very eager to get a look at uh,and shes also just been awarded this, notable, award called the footling prize which,is bestowed upon writers by other, writers so,and its not given every year were told, several times the trick is she has to,go to the uk to receive it and she tells, karen that shes afraid of flying so,theyre like i know well hook you up in,this,um tran youll take the queen mary too,and she says can i bring my friends, and she takes her nephew played by uh,lucas hedges, and her two best friends from college, who she really hasnt spoken to for, three decades diane wiest is susan and, roberta is kenneth bergen, and then as theyre all introduced we,get to learn little pieces, put the puzzle together of all their, relationships um,meryl is very pretentious and snooty,as alice she basically tells her friends, like im only available for dinner, because im working on this, manuscript uh so ill just see you for, that, and then she keeps trying to talk to,candice bergen keeps avoiding her and we,learn that, her breakthrough novel which was called, you always you never, was very uh was based,on her friends life and was such,it was so noticeable that when candice, bergens rich husband, divorced her he used this novel and the, things that happened in it,against her and so she was left with, nothing in the divorce so shes very, bitter about that, meryl alice hasnt had a hit in years, the publisher is very concerned about, whether this manuscript is a sequel to,that said novel,so gemma chan is also on the, cruise trying to wheedle information out,of her nephew who starts to have, feelings for karen,so thats all going on theres a pulp, writer um,that meryl seems very put off by because, her friends love his work,uh theres this black man that keeps, going in and out of her room, that lucas hedges thinks is her lover it,ends up being her doctor because she has,a condition, that is preventing her from flying and, just as she kind of,has a final confrontation with uh,kenneth bergen she,a big spoiler alert she dies, and uh yeah i feel like im rambling i,wish you hadnt seen it i did really, enjoy it i thought diane beast was the, very sweet glue, between these two uh bitter old ladies, okay,so so why would meryl streep, invite two she hasnt seen in 30,years,i think she wanted she has asked them to,go on this journey to visit this, dead welsh feminist writer named blodwin, pugh, who wrote one book i like that name, she wants to go visit her grave so that, thats kind of a thing because, they were very close in college and i,think she has, deep vein thrombosis and she knows she, doesnt have much longer to live,so she wanted them there and i think, shes really trying to make amends with, candice bergen, because she knows much like truman, capote did,how she kind of used her life and their, last conversation is actually kenneth, bergen saying, ill tell you everything thats happened,to me in the 30 years since you can have,a sequel thats successful,uh you have to give me this much of the, profit though, its but she doesnt like candice, bergens character doesnt get anything,in the hand,no she does take meryls notes, alices notes uh and tries to sell it to,the publisher,as a way to like as a sequel because, its clearly, she was outlining something like that, and gemma chances,if you write it let me know id be,interested uh but but its kind of left, off in a place thats,um ambiguous for the remaining, characters, does kaylas burger look good i thought, she looked good oh thats good um,i i like that she i always liked murphy, brown, ive liked her since before if you wrap, because she had a uh,shes the least oscar nominated between, these three women but,i think her only oscar nod was for, starting over but uh,her work in the 70s carnal knowledge, shes nagandi of course shes in a,really good lena work miller film, well not really good but yeah would you, like to go through your notes,i like that the the gemma chan starts, talking to the pulp fiction writer, that is uh on board the mr the murder, mystery writer and he describes meryl, streeps work as,her books are the antichrist, and shes also agreed as part of the, compensation for,the publisher uh sending her on this, transit, transatlantic cruise to give a speech,uh on board which also ties into your, feet tidbits about it i thought lucas, hedges was nicely used here i thought, the, relationship well the one ended, relationship with gemma chan was a,little more realistic,uh and meaningful than, what transpired in french exit for, instance which is also, partially set on a cruise to europe,i dont know it just had some very nice, strong, notes and performances i think kemps, bergen, walks away with the best role,uh merrell is very good at playing, prickly pretentious woman so shes, perfectly all right,i think it was nice timing for this to,come out, around the time of the prom because i,did not like that film um,i dont know theres the diane wiest has,a very nice, monologue about how we were all sitting, here on this cruise and do you know what, happened back home, elon musk sent satellites that look like, stars fake stars up in the sky and well,be,of the last people to know that when, were looking at the stars that are, actually real, which its a its a film that if you if,you dig it it works on those kind of,poetic levels, okay what would you give this i would, give it three and a half out of five, all right anything else no thats it bye

Daniel Kaluuya On If He Has Empathy for FBI Informant Bill ONeal in “Judas and the Black Messiah”

how much of fred hamptons story were, you familiar with before you got, involved with the project,um,not not not not too much not too much in,terms of um,what i was taught at school i wasnt, talking about fred hampton at all in a,black panther party very minimally at,school and then i would, from conversations with friends and, people i was around and navigating, feelings of like i dont know anger, being a young black man and growing in,in that kind of space i would kind of,take in,the ideas of from that side from the, black pepper pie in the goal you know, what i really want to take a deep dive, and like get to know, them and get to know myself through that, you know saying so um so yeah i was, always going to go into that direction, and this is an incredible opportunity to,kind of,learn learn about them and and see what, they stood for, when you got the script and you saw that, the dynamic was, focused in large part on,his relationship or the situation with, bill learning, that they were so young at this point in,time with bill being 19 initially when,it started and fred being 21 when they, passed do you think that theres room, for sympathy for bill and what he went, through because it comes down to,self-preservation over the greater good,of the group, yeah i think this thats something that, like im really actually kind of,meeting on this restaurant about, see someone said recently about like, manny like how young bill was, just saying and i was like you just said,it highlighted its a 19 year old kid, saying that, was being bullied and threatened by the,fbi and told you you need to do this and,you need to do that and and it just it,shows the dangers of apathy, you know, and and im,how much,um,how much you can destroy with that you, know and how it makes you so malleable,if someone actually understands whats, happening but its also and to,understand the root,of his deeds the root of his deeds is is,in the establishment who, activated him in order to destroy what, that he destroyed and lead to the, assassination of chairman fred theyre, saying thats the root of it you know, and, the and you you have to have empathy, for you dont have to but,it hes a human being you know and um,and thats why i feel like this film and,the key for incredibly balanced, they dont kind of excuse it,but they do,show that this is a person that has is,in conflict and he probably and he is,being educated and believes in the black, panther party believes in the word the, chairman fred did but because of the, apathy of before, you know because he he was,self-preserving and maybe is,self-preserving in his essence, there thats going to lead to an erosion,of others around him and then ultimately, erosion of himself,so you got the opportunity to meet fred, hampton jr and also um deborah johnson,im forgetting what her name is,thank you,um so for when talking with them what, did they, what kind of,balance did they give you about that, time and how they were feeling that you, brought into the role once you started, the film,i think they just brought truth and they, kind of just its not stuff that you i,can go its just like they would say, something and it would change your whole, mind in how you think about something, and you just let that other thing go you, know i cant even remember like a,specific and go yeah i believe that i,trust that go there you know its a it,was kind of that and it was just their, aura and their presence and also, understanding the stakes i mean its, like being really close to,to to the to the root of of this you, know and understanding emotionally the,the legacy of this family and legacy of,this time and legacy of these people,um and me meeting that face to face um,would, would arm us in the decisions wed make, creatively,[Music],[Applause],[Music],[Applause]

Top 10 Modern Spy Films

following on from last weeks video, looking at the 10 best classic spy films, this week were looking at the best spy, movies made between 1990 and present day, please note that were only including, one film per franchise, number 10 true lies,if you can ignore the fact that arnold, schwarzenegger is probably the last, person who should be cast as a guy so,ordinary seeming that even his wife, doesnt know hes actually a secret, agent theres a lot of fun to be had in,james camerons light-hearted and,explosion-heavy thriller, sandwich between terminator 2 and, titanic it cant help but feel a little, bit minor by camerons standards, but the film still packs enough action, and comedy to keep its audience, entertained, black book, charis van halton stars as rachel a,jewish woman who survives a massacre at,the hands of the ss that kills the rest,of her family, falling in with the dutch resistance she, agrees to go undercover in an attempt to,undermine the nazis,in the confusion of violence and, betrayal that follows rachel finds some,of her assumptions challenged and her, life imperiled its a tale depicting the, thrills of espionage in a harrowing, pursuit that puts spies in constant, danger of losing their lives, number eight zero dark fursy is he,supposed to limp like that, get your hand out of your pocket hey, come on hey get your hand out of your, pocket,[Music],catherine bigelow delivered a masterful, understated spy drama with 0 dark 30.,the film chronicles the cias sweeping, hunt of osama bin laden and the toll it,took on the obsessive operatives behind, the mission, jessica chastains stunning lead, performance as maya earned her a,well-deserved best actress nomination, and a straight shot to stardom but,0dark30 is the farthest thing from a,glitzy hollywood espionage thriller, instead bigelow tones down the glamour,in favor of a more honest look at the, dreary reality of espionage, number seven mission impossible fallout, the mission impossible series pivoted, from being a trilogy with just one great, film to an,all-conquering action juggernaut over, the course of the 2010s but its easy to,forget that while youre watching tom, cruise fling himself about on the burj, khalifa and the side of aeroplanes that, hes supposed to be a spy, inarguably the best of all the mission, impossible films he has to stop, terrorists cobbling together nuclear, bombs with stolen plutonium with cruz, once again undertaking all the, staggering stunts himself, including the highly praised halo jump, sequence, number six tinker taylor soldier spy, just on the off chance you were back, from berlin, what did you say hello hello mr smiley, its jerry jerry westby from the office, just that had been a bit of a crisis, and said he wasnt back yet and that was,it no one, john le correas densely plotted novels, can be tricky to condense into,feature-length films which may explain, why theyd sometimes had better luck on,tv than on the big screen this thomas, alfredston adaptation demands close, attention, the film brilliantly captures the,criss-cross loyalties and hidden agendas,of lacraes fiction with gary oldmans, performance as george smiley being one,of his best to date,i want to talk about loyalty toby, control recruited you didnt he,found you starving in a museum in vienna,a wanted man number five argo, there are only bad options its about, finding the best one,you dont have a better bad idea than, this this is the best bad idea we have, sir,by far based on a true story argo, follows a film crew who had to help bust, some american hostages out of tehran, where they pretend to make a fake sci-fi,fantasy adventure star wars ripoff, called argo and smuggle in some canadian, passports whilst its a fantastic spy, thriller it manages to bend towards, being a heist caper too, with some top turns from ben affleck, john goodman brian cranston and, particularly alan arkin is the, cantankerous veteran film producer, yes confirm the tickets go number four, munich i want you to give me proof that, everyone we killed had a hand in munich,i dont discuss such things with people, who dont exist you want to discuss come, back to existence, you want your daughter to grow up in,exile and what evidence,on the surface steven spielbergs munich,is about the aftermath of black, september,a terrorist attack on the 1972 olympics, that left 11 israelis dead, beyond the surface story the best, picture nominated film dives deeper to,examine relative truth, failure to communicate and the cost of,waging an unwinnable eternal war munich, follows a team of spies and assassins, assembled to seek retribution for the, deaths of their countrymen based on a,true story the film is an approximation,of history at best but in telling the, particularly fictionalized version of,the tale, spielberg broaches deeper truths with a,cinematic flair, what do i do do you know why were here, number three the born ultimatum,in 2002 the same year bond reached its, highs of implausibility while driving, around in an invisible cut and die, another day, doug lymans the bourne identity opened, and blew the tired tropes of the, weightless gadget-driven,007 franchise out of the water when it,returned it wouldnt look anything like, that again, lymans film paved the way but it was, arguably subsequent born director paul, greengrass who really consolidated the,new action aesthetic of the handheld, camerawork that lent a nervy realist, immediacy to even the most torturous of,plot turns with ultimatum arguably the, best of the bunch, number two casino royale, while skyfall is arguably the better, action film of the modern bond entries, casino royale is by far the better spy, movie, skyfall has a more glamorous hollywood s,feel to it whereas casino royale feels, more restrained where the actions more, raw the cinematography more gritty and,it showcased a far darker side to bond, himself, and whilst mads mikkelsen isnt quite on,par with javier bardem hes still a damn, good villain, full of fantastic action sequences a,newer version of the classic aston, martin and unbelievably high stakes this,is easily one of the best one films to,date, before we reveal our number one pick, here are some honorable mentions that, just missed the list, lust caution, kingsman are we going to stand around, here all day,or are we going to fight bridges spies, tenet, hes responsible for the western flank,of the upcoming saigon offensive, his name dont need a name sir, number one the lives of others,is,a perfect companion piece to cope, elizabeth conversation this,oscar-winning german film is just as,quietly explosive ulrich muha stars as,best, the officer listening in on a berlin, playwrights apartment slowly but surely, the government and its officials make a,series of ethical missteps which results,in characters turning rogue, these in turn worsen the political, situation leading to a behind closed, doors game of cat and mouse,as with the best spy movies the stakes, here are sky-high making a compelling, chase thriller but all the work comes, from below the surface where the cogs, never cease to turn this is kosher, thank you thank you for watching have, your own opinions, leave them in the comments below and be,sure to subscribe to Ex-Mob Boss Rates 13 Mafia Movie Scenes | How Real Is It?

Michael Franzese: If a mob boss was ever, visiting a psychiatrist,,hed be in the trunk of his car by the end of the week.,Along with the psychiatrist.,That would never happen.,My name is Michael Franzese,,and I was a former capo in the Colombo crime family,,one of the five New York Mafia La Cosa Nostra families.,Im now residing in the Los Angeles area,,and Im here to be a movie critic.,This would never happen.,First of all, its too much work involved in this, you know?,Youve got so many guys.,Usually mob hits are not done like that.,I mean, theyre normally done at close range,,small-caliber guns and shotguns being used.,I never saw anything like this before.,I know back in the 20s they used machine guns.,”Tommy guns” was the term back then.,But, to me, this scene seems to be unrealistic.,Jelly: Oh. Oh, che stai facendo?,Dr. Sobel: Hey, Easter weekend, eh?,Franzese: There was always a guy of that size.,In every crew and every family there was always, somebody that big that was around.,Italians eat a lot, and some of them get real big.,You know, I doubt youd ever see this many people.,The last time something like this occurred, was Appalachia, back in New York,,when guys from all over the country came in.,I think they probably modeled this scene after that.,You know, ever since law enforcement, invaded that meeting,,it never happened again.,And that I know for a fact.,Michael: Were both part of the same hypocrisy.,But never think it applies to my family.,Pat: All right. All right.,Some people have to play little games.,Franzese: We infiltrated society on every level,,from the guy on the street, the numbers business,,right up to the White House.,And you would never see a politician talk to us like that, because most of them we supported.,And Im wondering if I wouldve, been able to stay calm.,Which was the right thing to do.,Michael: I know it was you, Fredo.,Franzese: This kiss of death,,that was a Sicilian thing, I believe,,and certainly something that mightve happened in Italy.,This is a scene that, you know,,that became close to me because I had a brother,,I have a brother that actually turned informant.,Testified against my dad, and actually tried to hurt me,,and went into the Witness Protection Program.,Havent seen him in 10 years.,Its very hard to bear, hard to deal with.,Since I walked away from that life, and basically, you know, violated my oath, just by walking away,,not that I ever hurt anybody,,but just by walking away,,contract on my life, the whole bit.,Did you ever worry about your family?,And my answer is no.,We didnt go after law enforcement.,We didnt bother anybodys family, that was hands off.,In Italy, you know,,they go after your family, law enforcement,,I mean, you know, theres no rules, when it comes to stuff like that.,Ace: Can you do it with your left hand?,Signaller: Well, Ive never tried.,Ace: So youre a righty?,Signaller: Yeah.,Franzese: I can tell you this scene is not unrealistic,,because, you know, in a mob-run casino,,we certainly wouldnt have tolerated, anybody cheating like that.,So it couldve been this, I mean,,you break somebodys legs, put them in a hospital.,Even though this is Lefty Rosenthal,,he wasnt a made member, but he was an associate,,but he dressed the part.,De Niro and Gotti, and, you know, even myself,,we dressed up pretty good.,At every weekend, I was at weddings and funerals.,Half the time I didnt know who died,or who was getting married,,but we had to go as a matter of respect.,So we had to dress up quite a bit.,I mean, I probably had 50 suits at that time.,Donnie: Like Raquel Welch is one great piece of ass,,forget about it.,But then, if you disagree, like a Lincoln is better, than a Cadillac, forget about it.,Franzese: All right, I gotta tell you this.,This is probably one of the most realistic scenes,in all of mob moviedom.,You know, its funny. Im a speaker now,,and every time I say, “fuggedaboutit,”,which I say by habit, people laugh, you know.,This scene made that word famous.,It applies to everything.,Just like the sit-down.,Anytime you had any kind of meeting,,it was always at a sit-down.,Had a sit-down, and discuss, you know,,a life-and-death matter.,We had a sit-down just to have dinner.,Everything was done at a sit-down.,Chili: Youre an entry in my book, thats all.,Youre just a guy who owes me money.,Martin: All right.,How about this?,[Franzese laughs],Franzese: Its, No. 1, its the perception, that this person is a serious guy,,that can, you know, maybe hurt you,,and that intensifies that look.,Cause I know a lot of times, you know,,people said, “Hey, all youve got to do is look at somebody,,and they get nervous.”,Travolta, I thought, killed this role.,You know, a lot of mob guys, I mean,,myself being one of them, got involved in entertainment.,Travolta took it to another level,,wanting to be a director and whatever it was.,We were more or less behind the scenes, you know,,financing some of these things,,getting to know some of the people,,some of the perks involved with it.,Really, that was it.,Henry: Then you had Nicky Eyes…,Nicky: Whats up, guy?,Henry: And Mikey Franzese.,Mikey: I saw that guy, yeah, I wanna see him.,Franzese: Yeah, no, I dont think he really looked like me.,Ill be honest with you, I was in the theater.,I had just gotten out of prison,,and I went to see this with my wife.,And after a few minutes she looked at me and she said,,you know: “Is this really what you guys did?,Is that what your life was all about?”,And I said: “Honey, cmon, its a movie.,They make things up.”,You know, “Dont pay attention.”,No sooner do I say that, than they introduce my character,,and she looks at me,,and I say, “Cmon, we gotta go.”,And I walked out, cause I didnt know why they put me in.,It was a different crew.,Henry: Heres Frankie the Wop.,Frankie: Listen, are you out of trouble?,Henry: Freddie No Nose. Freddie: Hey, howre ya doing?,Franzese: People say, “Well, how did you come up,with those nicknames?” You know, like,,there was a guy that we called Chicken Head.,And the reason we called him that, because he used to shoot the head off of chickens, when he was practicing his marksmanship.,You know, we had Benny Eggs.,”Well, whyd you call him Benny Eggs?”,Well, he liked eggs.,He ate them all the time.,So we werent really original with the names.,We had Fat Tony Salerno.,”Whyd you call him Fat Tony?”,Well, he was fat.,Tommy: What do you mean, funny?,Funny how? How am I funny?,Henry: Just…,Franzese: You know, they made Henry out to be,a lot more, significant in the life than he really was.,He was just a lost soul.,He always had a drug problem, alcohol problem.,For me, Joe Pesci is the best portrayer of any mob guy.,You know, he was around street guys,,he knew guys out on the street.,And he just had it down so perfectly.,Police: Hey, put your eyes up.,Franzese: You know, most of the local police,,they didnt bother us.,You know, it was really the FBI and, you know,,investigative agencies like that, especially the feds.,I doubt if anybody,,even though he was protecting his son,,would ever come right out front like that, and look to put people on front street, so to speak.,Front street, in other words,,youre telling the police that, you know,,one of these guys might be guilty of doing something.,So youre actually, you know, in mob terms,,youre becoming a rat or a snitch.,And, you know, you pay a price for that.,Charlie: He has about $30.,Its all hes got on him, Michael.,Michael: Wheres the rest?,Charlie: Yeah, wheres the rest?,Johnny Boy: Well, I bought a few rounds of drinks, over here while I was waiting.,Franzese: You know, this whole shylocking scene,,you know, very accurate.,Shylocking, loan sharking, you know,,basically lending money at usurious rates.,And everybody that was in that life, was in that business. That had any money.,You know, he plays these roles good.,I think, today, you know, the way De Niros acting,,he thinks he really is a mob guy, you know. [laughs],Its kinda permeated his whole being and hi

The Ending of Euphoria Season 2 Explained Part 2

so i worked a week and a half straight, and stayed up for 48 hours to finish, this video for euphorium and after, sleeping for a couple of days bryce is,back refreshed and hes ready to make a,part two and im gonna stop talking, about myself in third person so heres, part two to my analysis on euphoria, season 2. also spoilers i made a post on,my community tab and the rest of my,social media accounts asking you guys if,you had any more questions about, euphoria season 2 that have been, tragically left unanswered and the first, question i wanted to address is what the,f was ash thinking this is a great, question ive already talked about the, ramifications of ashs actions in part, one of this video how fez will most, likely go to prison because he cleaned, off the murder weapon and is seen, holding it when the cops come in which, from a legal standpoint is uh not good,if we see fez go to trial next season, the only person who could vouch for fez, would be faye or the other cops whod, watched fez try to talk ash down but, after the police also watched their, partner die after ash gave him a shotgun, shell to the chest theres probably no,chance any of them would make fez look, better on the report so the last person, who could save fez would be fae and, theres no denying that fey would have, fescos back but its easy to forget, that the entire reason faye was staying, with fesco and ashtray is because she, needed a place to hide after she pushed,a motel manager off a balcony so fayes, side of the story will most likely not,be taken into account as she may be on,trial herself after committing a really, bad crime and then fleeing from that, crime scene wow the writers really dug, themselves into a hole with this one, especially if they expect to bring back, fezco next season which they will, definitely have to since hes a crowd, favorite and theyve already established, the culturally iconic fexi or flexi or i,cant keep up with the hip young, vernacular of you all i may be 25 but i,have the spirit animal of a 97 year old, turtle stuck on its back while trying to,cope with an astigmatism but anyway, were talking about ash and why ash did, what he did this is a harder question to,answer especially knowing that ash, didnt say a single thing other than, uttering the word no during the entirety,of episode 8. so ash telling his, reasoning to fez is completely off the, table quick recap for those in the back, ash stabs custer without knowing custer,is an informant for the police actually,he probably knew he was an informant but, what ash didnt know is that the cops, were listening they were especially, listening to the part where ash stabbed, custer in the throat and those who, arent familiar with crime this is bad,by the way some people think that in,season 2 episode 7 custer placed an,additional listening device in one of,the plants right here but i dont think,he did place another listening device, because if he did it would be way too, subtle of an action if a second, listening device was going to come into, play later on then the production would, have done a better job at drawing some, attention to it also custer having the, cops listen in on his phone makes lori, and bruces way of searching for a wire, pretty antiquated at this point fez, wanted to take the blame for ashs crime, but in his own way ash turns down that, offer then ash proceeds to get every, weapon on the west coast to have a,shootout with the police which, subsequently ends with him getting shot,in the head or face to be more exact or,forehead to be super duper exact since, the beginning of this season ash has, always expressed violent behavior we,didnt really see him go this hard on,being recklessly violent in season one,but thats just because he was more off,to the sidelines like cat in season two,or mckay in every season of euphoria but,if we look at ashs upbringing we see, that the woman who raised both him and,fez was extremely violent if she had an,issue with someone she would walk over,to them and then beat them or shoot them, while we only see fez witness his, grandma continuously handing out these, beatdowns its possible that ash, witnessed a few of these grandma attacks, himself or maybe just heard stories, about their grandma either way their, grandma continuously justified her, unethical behavior to her kids and we,know that her reasoning rubbed off on,fez later on like how their grandma, tells fez that mcdonalds gave their, uncle diabetes and way down the road fez,is still bringing up that story to,justify his drug deal operation that he,inherited from their grandma so it seems,to be generational as fez is teaching, the same principles to ash as well as,continuing to fulfill the role of his, grandma by giving people like nate, jacobs a public beatdown theres also, these parallels between fez and his, grandma doing business where fescos, situation goes from this,to this says the guy who brings a kid to,a drug deal, thats not a kid thats my business, partner i like fez as a character but,yes he is a terrible role model and hes, unfit to race a child fescos grandma, started beating a bull cup man with that, crowbar of hers and for a reason fez, couldnt fully understand he ran over to,his grandma to stop her which resulted,in fez getting hit in the head its like,a reoccurring thing now that fez just, keeps getting hurt when trying to stop, the people that he loves from getting, unnecessarily violent though fez was, brought into a bad situation it seems, like he at least had enough time to,develop some sort of empathy and, emotional understanding when it comes to,getting violent fez either beat to death,or severely injured mouses supplier, only because he had no other option left, like a good soldier fez only takes, action when its absolutely necessary, and when he is left with no other choice, with the exception of nate jacobs, obviously but when fezkos brother goes,to war hes the kind of soldier that you, know commits war crimes fez liked that, his grandmother didnt treat him like a,kid so he treated ash the same way and, thats the point ash never got to be a,child so ash didnt have the proper, amount of time to emotionally develop, like fez as fesco barely got a chance to,ash being a kid was always going to act,on emotion rather than logic granted ash,was right when he killed mouse as i,mentioned in part one mouse was already, pushing a lot of product on a fez more, product than fez could ever handle and,on top of all of that mouse was growing, suspicious of fez after he got raided, and rightfully so even mouses,right-hand man custer ends up becoming a,snitch for the police so developing, trust in their industry is rather, difficult i think fezs plan of robbing, the supplier was so crazy that it,actually could have worked but when he,ends up giving the supplier a beatdown,it ruins everything mouses supplier is,possibly killed or arrested and then, mouse gets handed a bunch of bloodied, stacks of cash when fez hands over this, literal blood money to mouse it was more,of a short-term solution to a long-term,problem and i would actually consider it,to be more of a hail mary with mouse, already being suspicious of fez and, getting handed blood-covered cash i,believe mouse would be able to put two,and two together and figure out what, happened to his supplier later on so in,terms of the drug dealing hierarchy, distributors like fez are more, expendable and if fez is willing to take, out the supplier imagine how a middleman, like mouse would feel about his own, safety upon this discovery meaning mouse, was going to kill fez and ash did make, the right call and we all know custer, deserved a punch to the nose oh sorry, hammer to the nose but ash got lucky, with mouse icarus over here was gonna, keep flying too close to the sun ash, clearly wasnt thinking long term and, only understood how much he messed up,the moment fez pointed to custers phone, even though ashtray didnt get a chance,to explain the reasoning behind his, actions the actor who plays ashtray gave, his thoughts on why ash went through, with having the shootout

Judas And The Black Messiah Review – Talkin Movies – Americas On Fire Right Now…

no this movie isnt relevant today at,all,[Music],hey everybody whats going on welcome to,an all new talk and movies as always im,your host the real geno gina reynolds, and today, were going to be talking about the, newest movie to,uh go to hbo max with the uh,warner brothers deal today we are going,to be talking about judas and the black, messiah starring, daniel kaluya and lakey stanfield and, jesse plemons,im probably going to get somewhat, spoilery in this review,if you dont want anything spoiled uh,im telling you to watch this movie, definitely watch this movie um as i,sarcastically said in uh,the intro this movie is so relevant, today,um its,the movie set in the late 60s and,you know it just makes you wonder how, much has really changed, for people of color in this country um,theres im just telling you if you, dont want anything spoiled,uh because i this is based on a true, story,so uh im gonna be talking some spoilers,uh just for some of the things that, happened in the movie and some of the,uh some of the character motivations and, everything else,uh and thatll probably give up some, things that are gonna happen in this, movie especially,uh some of the endings so if you dont, anything spoiled im telling you if you,got hbo max, watch it if you dont have hbo max and,its out of theater,go see it its well worth seeing um,what you have with this movie is uh,kaluya, plays fred hampton the very young, chairman of the illinois black panther, party, and you have uh lakeith stanfield, playing william oneill, who uh at the first of the movie,he gets in trouble for uh impersonating,an officer to try to steal,a car uh and he uses the excuse,uh that he uses a badge instead of a gun, because, people are more afraid of a badge than a,gun, and so he hes he says i can accomplish, more,uh but hes told hes going to go to,prison for a long time for impersonating,an officer, hes get he would get very little time, for stealing the car but for, impersonating an officer he get like a,ton of time in prison,so hes given a choice go to prison or,become an informant, and thats where jesse plymouths, character comes in,uh and well get it well get to his, character in a little bit,so neil has to decide well i go to,prison or,uh not only do i inform but i make, money because theyre paying him to do,this,uh anytime they get good intel or they, want him to do something to make, something happen he gets paid,so in a sense hes being bribed,to uh you know give up those hes,hes involved with so neil uh,joins the black panther party, and in turn some things happen, throughout the movie because, hes given information to the fbi,so okay first of all,if this movie had any weakness and its,not a very big weakness but have had any, weakness, its that um though you can make the, argument that this,is oneills story to tell,uh thats the story theyre trying to,tell is what oneill did,um i think fred hampton could have, gotten,a little more development uh granted you,get some decent development with him you,see him,uh you know he he meets somebody,uh he has to decide how much of you know,is his life worth risking especially, when hes got a child coming um there, are beats for his character, and uh kaluya does a very good job, playing the character,i just think maybe we could have gotten, more about him in this because, again a lot of the focus is on the, character of oneill mckee stanfields, character,um so if thats my biggest complaint, its not a very big complaint its just,i i think i would have liked uh to have, more,uh about hampton in this uh because what, hampton, you know you you hear you heard growing,up especially if you grew up where i,grew up,you would hear growing up that you know, hampton was a terrorist and all this and,you know the movie shows, what he was trying to do uh with the, rainbow coalition and everything where, hes trying to just keep people from, being abused,by police and the government, and i know a lot of people are going to,disagree with me on that but,you know they were trying to help people, now as as with any group im sure there, are people that, take thing you know do things the wrong, way or something like that but,or do try to do things in a more violent, way and they do address some of that in,this movie its like, were gonna do this and its like wait a,minute what are you what is theres a,theres a scene involving some c4,and theyre just like hamptons, characters like, you know what are you what are you, thinking this is not us,and so i would have liked more with, hamptons characters thats, thats my real complaint but otherwise, again kahlua does an amazing job,at bringing this person persons story,at least what they give you to life, for the character of oneill uh lackey, stanfield, who is amazing is amazing in this, what you get with his character and ill, touch a little bit more on it when i,talk about jesse plymouths character as,well,is you have this guy that hes,oh and by the way this what im about to,tell here,uh it goes to,um when another character shows up,uh ill talk about that character too,and its kind of a spoiler but,um you just kind of see where where his, life could have gone later in the movie, but what, what im talking about leads up to that, youve got this guy, whos being threatened prison or hey we,can pay you and you can just tell us,some stuff every now and then,um so hes giving floor plans and things, like that anytime, the police want to make a raid or the,fbi wants to make a raid or,whatever hes been asked to get floor, plans and information and all this stuff, and hes getting paid to do so all the, while hes being treated very well,by jessie plymons character uh who is,his handler, and when it comes to that character ill, talk about in a minute you, kind of see there might be somewhat of a,friendship there but you cant tell, plymouths character is,is uh really befriending him or,if hes using him or both um so leki, stanfields character has to decide okay,i gotta do this or that, and as hes doing these things the, government is asking them to,do worse things as they go and they keep, trying to buy him off a little more,at one point they uh even offer him,a business a gas station its like here, well give you this, this little business this tiny piece of,the pie and,you can just see how much of an insult, this is because its like, you know hes the one putting his life, out there anyway, whether it be right or wrong hes, putting his life out there and theyre, like here were just going to,give you this little nugget uh because,uh,when we get to jag or hoover whoever you, know the guy pulling the strings,uh does doesnt one of them doesnt want, one of them, then black people doing well in this, country right,so uh you can see that theyre stringing, him along giving him as little as they, can, even though say you know if he were, doing spying for them and he was a white, man they would probably be treating him,a little better um but you could just, see his character, throughout this movie is struggling with,am i doing the right thing, the whole time im just like i know its, based on true story but youre just like, just say youll go to prison man but of,course if he does that, the government would probably kill him, because they approached him and he told, him no,so you just see this character, struggling on,what am i doing the right thing at times,he does resist but theyre just like, well you dont want to do that because, this, you know i guess youre going to prison,i know youve been working for us all, this time but we can still send you to,prison,so its like no matter what he does, other than the time they offer him this, gas station, they dont really nother than money they, dont offer him any real freedom and, even,if he took this deal of this business, and everything, they still probably would have pressed,on him until he died,so you just see this character, struggling the entire movies, hes having to uh,hes having to snitch uh on,something he comes to somewhat but comes,to believe in,because hes like i cant believe youre, wanting me to spy on this guy,hes doing good
