lets start with theres no i in,threesome this documentary that i,watched its on hbo max as i mentioned,the premise of this is essentially you,know jan oliver lux,is the hes the director and hes also,in it okay,ollie is the name that he goes by all,right so ali,it features ollie and his girlfriend,essentially exploring,what life would look like if it wasnt,about monogamy and and,theyre not boyfriend and girlfriend,theyre actually fiance so this is,ollies fiance okay,so they are you know,zoe is the fiancees name so we see them,theyre living in like london and,germany hes a filmmaker,and it explores how ollie believes he is,bisexual so he wants to explore some,things,zoe uh is into theyre into like,threesomes so,they show like its pretty graphic,actually like in nature like theyre out,at parties making out with other women,um you know then they dont,i show them like fully having sex i,dont think but,lots of scenes like that ollies mom,even stars in it,where he explains to her that hes doing,a documentary on having threesomes in an,open relationship,which is so awkward we dont,even really get her full response,and it it follows their journey of how,this could potentially or supposed to,work,okay so they they,you know within i dont know maybe 30,minutes we find out zoe is seeing this,guy,in london shes an actress and you know,shes kind of into him,but she wants ollie to meet him and,ollie is bi-curious so,ollie is willing to hook up with the guy,too,you guys i you have never seen two more,narcissistic people,on screen in your life in than,this film all right and when i say that,its just like its all about them,they all they think about is essentially,becoming someone else,these people are not 22. theyre like 35,who the at 35,wants to be someone else youre not,comfortable in your own skin by then,i mean ollie might be 40. i was yelling,at the screen it was so,after watching this im convinced im,convinced and im trying to think i know,over the,well i know over the years ive had,people in open relationships or,polyamorous,on this podcast but i now after watching,this i kind of think if they feel like,its working theyre lying because,what this film does a great job of is,showing that at some point,someone becomes jealous and its almost,impossible,to its to build a healthy relationship,and go on and get married,and you know like respect the person,when theyre having sex with in a,relationship with someone else and and,these people,are not having sex with someone for like,a one-night stand they start dating them,plus theyre dating their fiance so,ollie and zoe are dating each other,while dating other people,and then supposed to all come together,and hook up and have sex what,maybe im just jealous that schmann and,i,are not capable of doing this i know for,myself i mean im jealous enough,of like someone i dont know on,instagram,let alone someone boning my husband you,know i mean it could never,do it best part of this documentary for,me is they keep like,showing these scenes where they go to,this public pool or they go to like a,pool,and essentially they go and its like a,diving instructor you know like,um the olympic diving boards you know,theres various heights,so zoe and ollie go to like the top,diving board and they,they are naked and they have gopros on,and theyre supposed to jump together,and every time,ollie jumps and zoey never goes with him,which is a great foreshadowing of the,film because,ultimately spoiler alert zoe is not into,him of course,because threesomes and these open,relationships dont work,you guys when i tell you this is another,level at one point ollie gives himself,an enema,with the help of zoe cleans out his,butthole because,theyre gonna have his girlfriend over,and potential buttplay,i mean i just love you know why i love,it and hate it all at the same time,because,do you watch these things and i think my, my sex life is so boring,compared to this,you know i mean honest to god if i do,doggy style for five consecutive minutes,im like,what a wow what a world you know i mean,like,i think i think for me it brought up,rage,about i could never do that,and i know so many people who with,that,and ollie talks about you know all the,things that they did sexually they,they hooked up and im always amazed too,like i mean,maybe i just date guys that are too,straight but like i mean,trying to get some straight guys to suck,each other off like its,its really like they dont want,anything to do with it,like theyre always cool with the women,hooking up but like,i give ollie credit thats the one ollie,was down for whatever,okay on this film so,but that ends up sealing the deal,because ollie wakes up in the morning,after they all hook up and then zoe,and her new man are basically having sex,right next to him what,again its not gonna work okay,so whats infuriating about this film,though is they,at the start they really make zoe out,which they always do this to,basically be the woman thats like,breaking his heart,she calls him she calls off the,engagement and they really,make zoe out to be i think he does the,filmmaker,ollie um to be completely like a,narcissistic self-absorbed actress who,you know burns through men and its,really her fault,that like ollie was sort of going along,with this now,heres the big plot twist so this is the,huge the huge huge spoiler alert at the,end of the film,and and ollie annoys the out of you,too,youve never i feel like ive never,disliked two more,two people more than this film ever in,my life and,and openly like gasping like,what because i also watched on netflix,theres an,an only fans documentary which was too,boring i couldnt even finish it,but its basically documenting some,people that are making money on only,fans,far less far far less far more boring,than uh no i in threesome so,i i really hate when they make the women,out to be like,were the sexual prowess like were the,you know were the ones that,that kind of like break these mens,hearts but you you also dislike ollie,because ali,is is also narcissistic and annoying and,wants to be somebody else and,wants to explore you know has all these,questions about his sexuality and,which is fine to question all that but,im just saying like its youre like,youre like why are you doing this about,threesomes when it really is more about,you guys having a ton of internal,conflict about who you are sexually it,really has nothing to do with threesomes,thats what,is annoying so at the end plot twist,you find out that zoe this woman in the,documentary is an,actress so this really happened to ollie,but his,actual girlfriend is not his actual,girlfriend it was a cast,actress and they recreate stuff even,more annoying,so far its not concerned like,uh you know but but then i,will you know what was interesting i,have to give it to ollie,he does a self-confessional basically of,what he learned and he,he said you know he you cant really,blame zoey,that was the original girlfriend because,he,truly has he reveals these conversations,that he had,where hes like i would put my career,over anything else i want to make this,documentary i dont care like if,our relationship works or doesnt this,documentary is what its all about,so with that youre like

[Music],hello everyone its shane canto your,wasteland reviewer and im here to,review there is no i,in threesome and i remember seeing this,coming out,and on hbo max and thinking what the,hell is,this this is interesting is this its a,documentary about threesomes,and what it turns out to be you have yon,oliver lux,who is a filmmaker who is making this,documentary about him and his,fiancee and theyre branching out,into sleeping around having an open,relationship that then turns into a,polyamorous relationship,when she finds a boyfriend and then he,kind of forces himself to find a,girlfriend,and you have this whole entire endeavor,and trying to look at,the possibility of these things,occurring and its supposed to end when,they get married,and then you have this whole film as you,start off and they love each other,theyre great together,theres a lot of nudity theres a lot of,fooling around you,you see a lot in this film you right,from the start they strip down and jump,off of a diving board,an empty like swim club place and,hes like bug ass naked and you see it,all,its flaunting there and you see all of,her as well throughout the film,and you see this is interesting because,you see scenes of like,performing an enema to prepare for some,things for later,you see them preparing for going to a,sex party,with like whips and leather and chains,and stuff like that,you have all of these different moving,pieces here,and you also see them engaging with,other people,having these other relations and how,does that affect their relationship,and then it builds when his girlfriend,zoe here,finds another man named tom and they,really hit it off and she keeps pushing,for this to be,more than just sleeping around she wants,a boyfriend,and you can tell that ollie,john oliver is not quite okay with it,and youre sitting through this film,seeing the progression of him,getting sadder and sadder and feeling,uncomfortable with whats going on and,shes just,vibing with this other man and its an,interesting dynamic and he starts dating,a woman named siobhan,trying to fill that void and you have,some moments where,its very graphic they talk about,leading up to finally when they meet and,that morning after,is really powerful and then,the rug is pulled out from under you,this documentary will surprise you,and leaves you in a place where you,rethink,this whole entire film in such an,impactful and meaningful way,i cant think of an a more ambitious,turn of events in a documentary like,this i think,i would have to really think hard if,ive ever seen something like this and,its surprising,its poignant and it hits you and,reframes the whole film,and adds depth that makes it so much,better than it was,even if it was good up to that point,then it pushes to greatness based off of,these reveals and how this is reframed,then youre just like holy crap,i did not expect this and how this is,all put together,lux does a fantastic job of directing,this setting,up this story which is intriguing and,challenges conventions of relationships,and in the end this documentary is going,to have you thinking either,like rethinking how you look at things,or appreciating what you have,i was only appreciating what you have,and thinking about this,and this documentary really hit hard and,i was really surprised and,i felt like i got a lot out of this film,and,its very entertaining in itself,its its like like soap opera e,level kinds of crazy relationship stuff,but its poignant its real and,meaningful and deep in what its trying,to portray,this is a special documentary definitely,grab my attention and i would definitely,recommend it as long as youre not,adverse to a lot of sexual things,because this is,all about it but those are my thoughts,on,theres no i in threesome go check it,out,its on hbo max but as i said,those are my thoughts let me know what,you think and lets talk some movies,but thank you as always for tuning in,and supporting your,waste slam reviewer
