are you looking for something to replace,the office in your life wow this is my,lucky day,what is your name sir well upload Amazon,Primes newest show is not it,I mentioned the office because Greg,Daniels the guy who co-developed the,American office & Co created Parks &,Recreation and king of the hill,individually created upload its a lot,of creating going on Ive seen Parks and,Rec and the office to the point where I,can melt the dialogue so I thought this,new series upload could save me from my,endless cycle of binge watching shows,Ive already consumed lets say I typed,your symptoms into the thing up here and,it says you could have network,connectivity problems I mean it got an,eight point three on IMDB so how bad,could it be,then I watched it the best way to,describe the first season would be,roller coaster of men upload is set in,the near distant future where its,commonplace to upload the name of the,show your consciousness into a paid,digital world as youre about to die it,follows Nathan whose girlfriend Ingrid,pressures him to forgo potentially,life-saving surgery after a car crash,and instead scan himself aka kill,himself to live forever in one of these,after lives like an Internet Sims,version of heaven he was supposed to be,heaven how was that heaven inside the,world him and his customer service rep,Nora began to fall in love as Nathan and,Ingrids relationship falls apart,theres also a murder mystery at Noras,dads dying but thats the gist of what,you need to know it all feels like,someone was trying to make their own,version of the good place with crazy,characters and thoughtful commentary but,didnt know what they were doing before,I get into the bad stuff which is,abundant lets talk about what I liked,first off there were a couple of funny,moments they were few and far between,but they existed and they made me laugh,so point for Daniels good job second,while I may have the monotone vocal,stylings of a robot I am surprisingly,not one and sincerely enjoy a good love,story I love them and once you get past,the rougher bits of the show damn this,is a cute one the chemistry between Nora,and Nathan and watching the relationship,grow was exciting and cute its been a,long time since Ive seen something that,gave me butterflies and reminded me of,how great it feels to fall in love,upload replicated that experience well,and I,a single woman in her mid-20s living in,the time of kovat and social distancing,it was a nice break from the isolation,by the way Im aware that statement is a,little personal but I think a lot of us,are going through that right now so just,know that if youre in that boat youre,not alone but yeah cute love story Im,glad I watched it for that I just feel,like I need to get this out I think,about you a lot the mystery element even,worked i legit could not predict most of,what was gonna happen,maybe its because there was no,foreshadowing to pay off or Im not good,at mysteries or whatever all I know is,that I was on my toes and nothing was,obvious but the thing is all the stuff,that worked only worked after the first,three to four episodes of this ten,episode season it seemed like there were,two completely different halves with,different tones the second bit felt a,lot more put together than the first,couple episodes in the beginning I,thought I was watching a downplayed,stoner comedy where they took someones,mixtape and set it to unnecessary,sequences almost like the writers or,director were trying to convince,Millennials to watch the show because it,had music we liked with silly moments,this stupid simplicity also translated,to the characters when I started,watching the cast was populated with a,bunch of monsters like the boss who,refuses to give Nora her employee,discount so her dying dad can get into,the afterlife,you need a 4.6 employee rating to,qualify for that discount right now,youre at four point five nine eight so,or these people who straight out call a,less affluent little girl a pig for,eating a normal amount of food you can,give mine to the little piggie or,Nathans friend who hits on Ingrid at,Nathans funeral theyre all terrible,and not even charmingly terrible like,and Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia,[Music],theyre just evil thankfully these were,only side characters and while they,dont improve at least most of our main,characters do oh yeah I forgot to,mention even our lovebirds are downright,jerks starting with Nora in the first,few episodes shes a static uptight rock,but the writers try to convince us that,thats likable and shes better than,everyone and knows it key jerk moments,for Nora include using her middle finger,as her fingerprint ID at work or how she,steals her bosss coffee because her,boss is evil as we discussed,its a nonfat iced latte it says my name,on it,Luc why Lucy has anyone seen it I get it,the person you work for is a witch like,everyone else in this godforsaken show,but taking her food isnt ballsy or cool,its petty be the bigger and smarter,person that you believe you are with,your speeches about obscure history that,solely exists to make you look like a,nerdy genius you agree with Neal Begley,whos Neal he was a 16 year old boy who,died of a [ __ ] UTI cuz you refused,medical treatment for religious reasons,she starts to warm up through the rest,of the show but these intro moments left,a bitter taste in my mouth about her,character especially since she never,becomes particularly charismatic moving,on to Nathan hes a special type of jerk,in the first couple episodes outside of,smooth talker,Nathans sole personality trait is that,hes narcissistic he looks at himself,while driving motorcycles or Dancing,with children hes constantly touching,his hair he talks about how attractive,he is great body great face great hair,and that his funeral the only thing his,ex-girlfriends remember about him is,that hes good looking in vain its,nonstop this vanity fades away and has,no bearing on the rest of the story but,it makes no sense why they would include,it in the first place its unnerving,however once you get past it he is a,cute charming guy with a slight awkward,side you got to be breaking the rules or,something cuz Im sure youre not,supposed to keep giving me five stars,for nothing or maybe thats just my girl,brain talking because you know hes so,dreamy that was sarcasm by the way at,least the writers got rid of those,questionable traits in the main,characters because they apparently,forgot to for one of the larger,secondary people Ingrid,Nathans girlfriend one moment she looks,like shes treating Nathans,twelve-year-old nieces sexual,competition the next she invites the,nice over for a fun sleepover through,the entire thing I couldnt tell if I,was supposed to like Ingrid or not like,her or if she was just a big dumb idiot,character segue,speaking of big dumb idiots the show,treats its audience like no one would,get anything if they didnt spell out,details for them instead of show dont,tell upload opps use three alternative,methods of exposition one they,point-blank tell you details about the,story world and motivation okay yes,shes a little entitled and she can be,kind of phony sometimes but but shes my,girlfriend too they show exaggerated,details about the characters in the,world,that are so obvious they may as well,have just blurted them out I dont know,who you are,Henry but I dream about you almost every,night we get it youre a romantic and,you like 50 first dates lay off it and,three they combined the Show and Tell,rule to do something new that Im gonna,coin right now called the show then tell,principal you cant just have your,characters and now its how they feel,that makes me feel angry this is where a,character uses actions to convey their,thoughts but then says those thoughts,out loud immediately after it can be,really hard to die I mean especially,when youre young enhance healthy like,why are you randomly looking at a,picture of you and your parents when,only you and your dad are together is it,bec

what if you could save your,consciousness when you die allowing you,to continue living in a digital and,virtual space thats the brief premise,of amazons comedy upload and the second,season is now arriving now i began to,love the first season so does this next,season maintain the magic or should it,just be deleted,[Applause],nathan is at a crossroads in his digital,afterlife his ex-girlfriend ingrid has,unexpectedly arrived in lakeview hoping,to strengthen their relationship but his,heart still secretly yearns for his,customer service angel nora meanwhile,nora is off the grid and involved with,the anti-tech rebel group the luds as,they plan to take action against the,wealthy uploaders so the first season of,this really caught me off guard and a,series is created by greg daniels whos,responsible for the office and we,watched that first season almost on a,whim but i got sucked into the quirky,humor which then developed into me,loving the characters and rooting for,the budding romance between nathan and,nora even if it seemed it would never be,able to work out plus theres a small,mystery going on about whether or not,nathan was murdered and then why at the,end of the season his wealthy but,controlling and even sometimes annoying,girlfriend ex-girlfriend ingrid she,uploads to join nathan in the afterlife,at lakeview which could cause all sorts,of wonkiness for nathan this season,continues to follow the players and,really puts large focus on several,different storylines of our characters,which thankfully they just dont diverge,too much and they really do keep the,story connected robbie ammel and andy,allo continue as the main leads and i,love their characters both individually,and then together theres a sweetness,and a longing thats shared between them,that really comes across the screen and,makes me want to root for them i like,ammos nathan because he seems to be a,really nice guy i mean sure he gets,frustrated but he also treats people,well and then his comedic timing works,perfectly off of his co-stars where hes,not just over exuberant to be funny but,hes really just slyly delivering lines,that made me chuckle and smile alos,nora is smart and sweet but in this,season i love how conflicted she is in,her actions when she joins the luds that,anti-tech group we get to see how it,refreshes her but also how it kills a,portion of who she is because she really,likes technology and then more so how,the technology allows her to connect,with nathan now the first season really,worked to establish the world for us and,how everything just functions its also,a big fish out of water scenario because,nathan not only has to come with grips,of just being dead and then uploaded but,now he has to learn how to live in this,virtual world with other uploaded people,the second season allows us to dive more,heavily into the story and not worry,about establishing how everything works,this also allows as i had mentioned,before for the story to focus on some of,the secondary players which makes for,some fun and wonky storylines now ingrid,and nathans ex-girlfriend who,unexpectedly uploaded to be with him is,struggling to win him back and she could,be very annoying at times but the show,also allows us some other peaks into her,life that make her very sympathetic and,sweet i mean even if we still dont want,to root for her and nathan to get back,together the story puts ingrid on a,quest this time and the situation is,weird and a bit unsettling but its also,amusing through this story arc the ai,guy also gets to have some more,prominent parts which again is very odd,in how they execute it but i still found,it fun luke this arrested development,man child at lakeview who befriended,nathan in the first season he continues,to play the fool which means that he,gets to give wisdom to nathan in,unexpected ways but hes also the,central focus of another story thats,involving his angel alicia theres a,moment when just a brief line of,dialogue is spoken that really gives us,insight into his character and for me it,catapulted him from being this annoying,bro dude to someone i really wanted to,see win and alicia also gets more,prominence which is i think entertaining,shes a very spirited character and i,love how the story allows her to have,some conflict within the narrative which,then in turn makes her a more dynamic,player she goes from being a sidekick,co-worker of noras to an active member,of the cast with some good prominence,which then should also lead to some,other conflict down the road the special,effects are still really great looking,now there are a couple of times where,the ai guys face will be digitally,inserted on a character that its,clearly not meant for which looks wonky,and wrong but thats exactly how its,supposed to look so in the end its,effective now i love the concept of the,phones on peoples hands while they wear,this wristband and theres this nuance,they employ to give it even more realism,by you know the characters have it up,like this but then they turn their hand,so whoever theyre chatting with can see,what theyre trying to show them now the,mystery and tension of this season work,well and they continue to progress the,story in an engaging way theres some,sort of nefarious plan working but,because of some character movements it,causes doubt at who is involved and then,to what degree and so are the supposed,bad guys really the bad guys or is their,plan actually noble in disguise now in,the first season there were 10 episodes,to get us established and then grow the,story in the second season there are,only seven episodes and the way that it,concludes ah its not very satisfying it,ends on sort of a cliffhanger but it,really felt like i was missing a few,episodes there wasnt the massive climax,or a huge resolution that youd expect,from a season finale instead the episode,just kind of ends now it does its job in,making me want more but i prefer to want,more after having just this good,conclusion each of the seven episodes is,around a half an hour so its not a long,binge at all and because the story is,fun it makes the experience go by pretty,fast and even though this is a comedy,its not a laugh a minute i mean there,are portions that are very amusing and,funny but there are also points that are,more somber and serious which i think,are needed to keep us emotionally,engaged but not all of that humor lands,there are some jokes and characters that,they feel forced like they were just,trying too hard to squeeze a joke or,laughs out of a situation that clearly,wasnt funny now luckily these,situations theyre not very prevalent,within the show so overall the second,season of upload is charming and sweet,with some decent humor robbie hamill and,andy allo as the leads create characters,we want to succeed and are very,convincing due to their great chemistry,the supporting cast gets more prominent,this season allowing for deeper and more,diverse storylines to continue to,reinforce the central narrative the,special effects mostly look great and,the humor lands well for the majority of,the season i do wish the season would,have ended a bit more satisfyingly,though with a conclusion that felt more,conclusive rather than feeling like,episodes were missing all in all this is,engaging and im looking forward to a,third season that hopefully is gonna,arrive pretty quickly theres sex some,nudity a lot of profanity and just a,tiny bit of violence i give upload,season two four out of five couches so,if you could and the technology existed,would she,nearly kills him rather than hand him up,even though she gives up shes seen,snatching his hairbrush and picking off,hairs before putting them in a bag in,the season finale implying that ingrid,is going to try cloning him again none,of this is done with nathans permission,and its evident that shes grown,obsessed with retaining him who is,responsible for nathans death this has,been on everyones mind for a long and,it appears that the shows plot is just,becoming darker nathan and nora try to,piece together the bigger picture,surrounding nathans murder and how it,connects to his own version of the,afterlife beyond which was in progress,before his fatal car crash which it,turns out wouldnt have killed him if he,hadnt uploaded over the course of the,season it turns out that its all for,political purposes due to the fact that,uploads do not have the right to vote,because their lives have officially,ended a malevolent firm called freon set,up dozens of clinics in swing states to,allow the poor and desperate to upload,into a new existence away from voting,booths if they succeed hundreds of,crucial votes will be needed to maintain,some political titans in power the,suspenseful conclusion the leads track,down the cloning factory and obtain,nathans clone body despite the fact,that the therapy is extremely,experimental and has a poor success rate,nathan accepts to be downloaded,nevertheless if it means he can stop the,corruption and freon we mean incredibly,low when we say a low success rate we,witnessed one person take the procedure,in season one only to that there is a,radical shift in tone between even,episodes not just seasons because the,humor in upload is either raunchy or,sophomoric while all the music is,gleefully joyful and then suddenly,youll have the interactive humor that,plays like that adams family reboot from,abc family channel back about 2000 only,to then be pressed with hard f-bombs oh,[ __ ] me and a sinister plot that,involves decapitation i mean itll even,tell you at the front of the episode,this ones 13 plus this ones 16 plus,pick a lane and go with it i feel like,im watching batman the animated series,only for it to get interrupted by the,killing joke and whatever harley quinns,cartoon on hbo is called oh but thats,not enough we have to lean even further,with the social commentary remember how,in season one i said this mr choke build,choke how hes basically a koch brother,now all of a sudden he has a brother and,he seemed to be at halfway decent guys,hes one now we know hes completely,behind the plot they got nathan knocked,off yeah so that he could create freond,the alternative to,horizons lake view on his own i guess,and if you werent aware of the coke,connection even more its all to get,poor people to voluntarily upload,themselves so that they cant vote in,elections all the while nathan enlists,the help of his buddies over in lakeview,to rob from the rich and never learn,their lesson about this its two,to act like theyre complete strangers,so not only do we have to think nathans,a complete [ __ ] to ever have been with,her in the first place when she has no,redeeming qualities we have to question,where is the growth in this character if,were just going to hit the reset button,theres even the time dedicated and,wasted on a huge plot involving ingrid,faking uploading herself when shes,really just staying in lakeview as a,visitor and somehow no one in tech,support knows this we have to have a big,plot thats played out over the course,of a season and we have a bigger plot,thats played over the course of the,whole show solving nathans murder oh,yeah thatll be solved whenever the show,is ready to be canceled was it not fun,enough just to explore this fake reality,did we have to have a mystery plot by,contrast the simpsons have not lived in,springfield since 1989,trying to solve some mystery about mr,burns fortune or is it that the fantasy,of controlling a man is just undeniable,to the basic white girl oh you want to,see more female empowerment controlling,[ __ ] how about the pushy boss over,at horizon everyone hates her she acts,like a cartoon weve seen this before,but now shes gotten alicia noras uh,sort of cubicle buddy in on the power,trip act by giving her a promotion and,she has no problem completely being,dismissive ordering people around,treating subordinates like animals only,difference is i guess were supposed to,foresee alicia having a change of heart,assuming theres a season three because,we have to set things up with a,cliffhanger yeah that lud group the,anti-tech people who live out in the,woods not just because they love nature,no its because they hate capitalism so,much oh yeah and theres this new flame,for nora among them matteo because it is,imperative that we split up the romantic,leads in season two of every streaming,series get them new romances that mean,absolutely nothing because it is,inevitable that our leads will come back,together as shipped by the audience in,other words season two relationships are,about padding out episodes oh but those,luds well being the benevolent freedom,fighters they are they have this amazing,terrorist plan to disconnect the bodies,of those in the upload you know you,cant re-kill them theyre already dead,right and besides theyre rich white guy,[ __ ] so yeah they deserve to never,come back science be damned but well,download nathan for our own use here and,well get him to use his retina scan to,open the back door in the freon code and,expose the capitalist pigs but oh no season one of upload was one of my,biggest surprises of that year but a,season two just as good lets talk about,it what is up flick fans welcome back to,my channel i was so excited for this,season of upload its unlike any other,show on tv it just dropped on amazon,today and were going to talk about it i,need you in the comments down below and,if you like this review and you want to,support this channel the thumbs up is,the best way to do that because you know,youtube and the algorithm so picking up,immediately after that huge cliffhanger,at the end of season one nathan deals,with his rich obsessive girlfriends,decision to upload to his heaven so they,can be together forever and i mean,literally forever meanwhile nora is,hiding out with the anti-technology luds,investigating the conspiracy that led to,nathans murder their relationship while,always tricky given that one of them is,alive while the other one isnt is more,precarious than ever and as we know this,comes to us from greg daniels who,brought us the likes of the office and,more recently space force now off the,bat this is my favorite of his two new,shows i like this one way more than,space force at least season one did i,like season two as much before i get,into that as always were starting with,the rating for the show tv mature,theres a little sex and nudity in there,profanity some conversations that,definitely arent for kids now i will,say overall this would make for a fun,family show but its not one you want,your younger kids to be watching because,there are those things in there that,make it tvma definitely not as mature as,say a show on hbo but yall saw season,one you know exactly what youre getting,your question to me is austin is season,two worth watching my simple answer is,yes but i do have some things to say,about the beginning of this season kind,of starting out on noras side of things,this story where she is hanging out with,the luds trying to figure out how we can,essentially take down the system the,show has kind of morphed into something,that i didnt expect absolutely at the,beginning of season one and obviously,you have how that ties into nathan his,journey in this virtual afterlife whats,going on with him right now and the fact,that his girlfriend ingrid just wants to,be,with him first two episodes were not,spending a ton of time in this virtual,world that we know and love its a lot,of nora and kind of her journey with,this organization in the woods theyre,kind of cut off from the world shes,forming a new sort of relationship,actually multiple relationships but her,attempts to kind of infiltrate and get,herself back into where she was in,season one once we got there i was much,happier with where this season was but,in my opinion season two gets off to a,slow start i just wasnt really feeling,especially the first episode of this,season it felt so drastically different,than where we were in season one and,maybe its because i just rewatched the,end of season one we get that crazy,cliffhanger and were not,entirely addressing the stakes of this,situation even though we are given the,situation now where these characters go,how it develops thats when season two,starts to get more interesting and by,the end of the season im sitting back,thinking wow this is way more complex,there were so many plot points that came,about that i never expected and youre,learning so much about these characters,the one i want to start with though may,be a surprise to you,and that is ingrid there is a storyline,in season two that was touched on in,season one but she is all about starting,a family having a kid and theres one,episode in season two that just had me,in the feels heavily if youve ever seen,rick and morty it felt like the episode,where morty lives out his entire life i,wont go any further than that but,theyre taking advantage of this,technology here and giving us a great,story point a great storyline and one,that fleshes out this character that was,one thing in season one and now she is,so much more than i ever imagined she,could be her relationship with nathan is,obviously one of the pillars of season,two but nathans in a place right now he,honestly feels a bit lost nora is gone,someone takes the avatar of nora at the,beginning of this season so hes,literally seeing her but not actually,seeing her and getting to have a,conversation with her so his heart is a,little more on the broken side than of,course having to deal with the,girlfriend that he doesnt really want,to deal with at the beginning of this,season,its not all going smooth for him you,also have his relationship with luke,which has developed into a fantastic,relationship speaking of luke just,hitting on the highs for his character,this season my favorite thing his,dynamic with alicia the dreams that he,is having surrounding elisha and then,what they do to his dreams in this,virtual world and those moments,especially when we get to the end of the,season theres actually a bit of a post,credit scene after episode seven those,were some of the stupidest and funniest,moments its like thats the kind of,thing i love about upload is youre able,to focus on this digital heaven do,things that we never imagined we could,do in a tv show i think thats one of,the brilliant things about greg daniels,and what he brings especially to a,concept like this again ive said it a,thousand times the office is one of my,favorite shows of all time space force,its its trying i think upload is,closer to the office than space force,but they dont all have to be the same,thing this is distinctly different than,anything i have seen especially on,amazon and im really getting to know,and love these characters and after the,way that season two wraps up i am dying,for more because like i said after that,slow start we get into episode three and,things start to shift theres a bit of,conspiracy at play you also have the,luds in their minds trying to do the,right thing but the way that theyre,going about it the execution of that,its something that nora begins to,notice and there are a couple of,strained relationships there that lead,nora kind of back to the world that she,used to know now the way that she gets,there is a little bit up and down but,once we are there and,essentially and i hate to say well we go,back to what we loved about season one,and thats where the show gets good that,is the case especially when episode,three hits thats when i fell in love,with this season but at the same time,you are creating new story lines for,these characters that are interesting,and the way nathan gets in on the action,the stakes are getting a lot higher,youre bringing us new elements to this,virtual world from the occasional gag,the awesome visual do i purchase these,muscles to make myself look better,we can read thoughts of certain people,in this virtual world thats a story,point that becomes extremely interesting,because youre also learning more about,how nathan got here in the first place,and thats a big part of that conspiracy,as to the why all of that starts and i,know we mentioned the character of,ingrid theres also a really nice story,line with someone else that is involved,with her venture into the virtual world,and i thought that was funny nathan,makes a drastic decision one that leaves,us on edge i believe its an even bigger,cliffhanger than season one so if you,dont like cliffhangers youre probably,not going to be happy but its a massive,cliffhanger now in terms of the,emotional impact and the emotional,resonance that were building up to,throughout the season we do get,one a handful of moments in the finale,that im like all right this is,everything i wanted i was so happy,but again youre left with something,that makes you think season three could,be even crazier i also just love the,filmmaking style quirky fun upbeat uh it,does get way more emotional than i,expected this season but it always keeps,that charm and the humor i thought the,humor was really good you know and love
