1. Introduction

Hey guys! Welcome to SmartPak's first ever tag video. In this video, we're going to talk about one of our favorite things - horse names. We'll take a trip down memory lane, discussing the first horse we rode, the first horse we owned or leased, the naughtiest horse we've ever ridden, our current horse, and our favorite name for a horse. So let's get started!

2. The First Horse I Rode

When it comes to the name of the first horse I ever rode, I have to admit that I don't know for sure. There were many pony parties and fair rides where I had the opportunity to ride horses, but I don't remember their names. However, there was one lesson horse that made a lasting impression on me - Deuce. Deuce was a big chestnut Quarter Horse with a bold blaze. He had a steady and calm demeanor, which I always admired in Quarter Horses. Another important lesson horse in my life was Peter Pan, a special little pinto pony with unique personality quirks. I loved him so much that I even made an embroidered wall decoration in his honor.

3. The First Horse I Owned or Leased

The first horse I owned and leased was a wonderful little leopard appaloosa pony of the Americas named Cocoa Puff. Despite his unusual appearance with a Roman nose and modeled muzzle, I found him adorable. Cocoa Puff and I shared a strong bond and participated in horse shows and parades together. In fact, we even won the trail class in my first horse show, thanks to his fearless approach to obstacles like mailboxes. Cocoa Puff holds a special place in my heart as my first horse.

4. The Naughtiest Horse I've Ever Ridden

As someone who has always been short, I had the privilege (and sometimes challenge) of riding challenging ponies and making them behave for younger riders. One such pony was Herbie, standing at just 12 hands tall. Herbie had a mane that shot up and out on both sides, giving him a Thelwell pony appearance. While handling him on the ground could be troublesome, it was under saddle where Herbie truly showed his mischievous side. He would grab the bit in his teeth and run, often causing chaos during lessons. Although he had his wild and naughty moments, Herbie taught me valuable lessons about preparedness and humility.

5. My Current Horse

My current horse is Cody, a Quarter Horse with a stoic demeanor. His full name is Counts Copper Cody. Cody was my first big show horse, accompanying me to Quarter Horse shows across multiple states. While he transitioned to a different discipline as my competitive horse, he has always been a constant companion in my life. Cody currently resides at a barn owned by family friends and contributes to their lesson program and therapeutic riding activities. He is a treasure and holds a special place in my heart.

6. My Favorite Name for a Horse

While reflecting on my favorite name for a horse, I can't help but lean towards ponies. I find it charming when ponies have cute and whimsical names that perfectly match their adorable appearances. One of the favorite pony names I have heard is "Sunday's Best." It evokes images of well-dressed riders and their ponies trotting into the show ring on a Sunday morning. Another name that I find appealing is "Argyle," reminiscent of preppy fashion and adding a touch of elegance to any pony. These names have a certain charm that always puts a smile on my face.

Horse Names: A Journey through Memories and Favorites

Hey guys! Welcome to SmartPak's first-ever tag video. In this video, we're going to take a trip down memory lane and delve into one of our favorite topics: horse names. Naming our equine partners is a cherished tradition, and today, we'll explore the significance of horse names and the memories they hold. From the first horse we rode to our current equine companions, let's dive into the world of horse names together.

1. The First Horse I Rode

A Trip Down Memory Lane

As riders, we all remember the excitement and anticipation of our first horseback ride. However, recalling the name of that very first horse may prove to be a challenge. Perhaps, like me, you had the opportunity to ride at pony parties and fairs, where the names of the horses quickly became a blur. However, amidst those early riding experiences, certain horses stood out and left a lasting impression.

The Steady Steed - Deuce

One such horse, who holds a special place in my heart, was a Quarter Horse named Deuce. Standing tall with a chestnut coat and a prominent blaze, Deuce exuded the quintessential Quarter Horse personality. His steadfast nature and reliable demeanor made him an excellent lesson horse. I will always remember Deuce as the horse who laid the foundation for my love of equines.

A Pony with Character - Peter Pan

While Deuce wasn't the first horse I rode, I would be remiss not to mention a lesson pony named Peter Pan. Peter Pan, a little pinto pony, stole my heart with his unique personality quirks. He was exceptionally patient and quiet, always marching to the beat of his drum. With his ears flopping to the side like little airplane wings, Peter Pan was the epitome of laid-back and loveable. So impactful was my time with him that I even created an embroidered wall decoration in his honor, a relic of the profound impression he left on my life.

2. The First Horse I Owned or Leased

A Special Bond - Cocoa Puff

Owning or leasing a horse is a significant milestone in any equestrian's journey. My first foray into horse ownership came with a charming little leopard appaloosa pony of the Americas named Cocoa Puff. Despite his unconventional appearance, with a Roman nose and modeled muzzle, Cocoa Puff's adorable demeanor won me over. We shared an unbreakable bond and participated in horse shows and parades, forging memories that would last a lifetime. In my very first horse show with Cocoa Puff, we triumphed in the trail class, showcasing his fearlessness and my pride in our partnership.

3. The Naughtiest Horse I've Ever Ridden

A Challenge in a Small Package - Herbie

Being vertically challenged in stature had its advantages when it came to riding ponies. Among the ponies I had the pleasure (and occasional frustration) of riding, Herbie stands out as the naughtiest. Standing at a modest 12 hands tall, Herbie had a mischievous demeanor that matched his unique physical appearance. His mane seemed to have a life of its own, shooting up and out on both sides, resembling a Thelwell pony fresh out of the dryer. While handling him on the ground often proved troublesome, it was under saddle where Herbie truly embraced his rebellious spirit. He would seize the bit in his teeth and gallop off, leaving behind a trail of chaos. Despite his unpredictable nature, Herbie taught me valuable lessons about expecting the unexpected and never letting pride cloud my judgment.

4. My Current Horse

The Constant Companion - Cody

In every rider's life, there is a horse that becomes their rock, a steadfast companion through thick and thin. For me, that horse is Cody, a stoic Quarter Horse with an unwavering demeanor. With the full name Counts Copper Cody, he was my first true show horse, accompanying me to various Quarter Horse shows across different states. Together, we tackled challenging courses, and Cody's dedication and talent helped us achieve remarkable milestones. While our journey eventually led us to different disciplines, Cody will always hold a special place in my heart as the horse that will forever be by my side. Currently, he resides at a barn owned by family friends and contributes to their lesson program and therapeutic riding activities, spreading his gentle demeanor and bringing joy to many.

5. My Favorite Name for a Horse

Whimsical Charm - Sunday's Best and Little Argyle

When it comes to favorite horse names, I find myself drawn to ponies. There's something undeniably enchanting about a pony with a whimsical and charming name. One name that has always brought a smile to my face is "Sunday's Best." Eliciting images of riders dressed in their finest attire, Sunday's Best perfectly encapsulates the grace and elegance of a well-presented pony at a horse show. Another name that resonates with me is "Argyle." Inspired by the preppy fashion trend, the name Argyle evokes a sense of sophistication and propriety, befitting a pony with impeccable manners. These names, with their unique charm and character, embody the magical essence of ponies.

6. Tagging Others - Continuing the Tradition

As we conclude this tag video, it's time to pass the torch and invite others to share their horse name stories.
